Chapter 12

1120 Words
After Enjo and Lyn came back to the present, an eerie blue glow from the window of Enjo’s room sparked. They were both teleported outside of the modern castle where they could see the whole town by looking down. It was windy and cold since they were in a high place. Lyn’s long hair was dancing lively with the wind as well as her dress. Everything was fine until Benji came out of nowhere. He was noisy and loud as usual. “Benji, you know the drill,” said Enjo to him calmly so he could do his thing. They were teleported again to the experimentation room. Benji knows that the laboratory or their experimentation room was vacant and there are no other people near there so he decided to teleport to the experimentation room with them. The lights were off and the only thing that gives light is the incubators. It has red lights on the sides of it. Benji wondered why the incubators don’t have covers. “You came home,” someone said from the corner. The voice was familiar to Benji and Enjo since they knew who it was from the moment they heard the voice. As soon as Benji and Enjo looked at the corner where they heard the familiar voice, they were both shocked and they stood there for a few minutes while Lyn was still confused about what was happening. Enjo slowly looked angrily at his brother, Benji, without turning his head. He didn’t know what to do and he was frustrated since he thought that everything was alright. Enjo thought Benji knew that this room was vacant and they could teleport here. “Both of you know the golden rule in this castle,” she started stating as Elisa stood up from sitting. She walked slowly while her footsteps were echoing in every step she made. “Mom, can I talk to you privately?” said Enjo before her mother, Elisa, would say something that Lyn wasn’t supposed to know. It would be difficult for Enjo to do his own experimentation using assets. Enjo wouldn’t want to let Lyn know that they were just using her because her blood is natural and she was the only living being here on their world with the same blood as their creatures. They couldn’t have the blood who are living in this world since it was not natural unlike Lyn’s. Enjo started to walk away and he headed to the door but as he opened it, he looked behind him and he saw her mother, boredly looking at him. He noticed that his mom doesn’t want to talk privately with him. It seems like Elisa knew what she was doing. She won’t listen to any excuses from her son. The golden rule in this castle is to not let dark-haired people step on this castle since it is disrespectful. Elisa won’t accept any reasons or excuses about why there is a dark-haired girl with them in this castle. “Mom!” shouted Enjo as soon as her mom went close to Lyn. Elisa held Lyn’s chin and she lifted it up with her finger to make Lyn look at her eyes directly. As soon as Elisa saw Lyn’s eyes, she was a bit confused so she looked more closely at her. She thought that she was looking at her own self as she looked at Lyn’s eyes. Conclusions clouded her own thoughts but she won’t admit the fact that Lyn looked like she was her sister’s daughter. Elisa looked at her face and she could see some of the same features from her sister. “What a coincidence?” said Elisa as she laughed. “We meet again, Lyn,” she continued while looking at her terrifyingly. “You know her?” asked Enjo, who was confused. He is not the only one who is confused because Lyn and Benji were also confused too. “I don’t know what to do to you,” whispered Elisa to her. “How dare you still live?” At first, Enjo thought that her mother knew Lyn and she is related to her but as soon as he heard Elisa’s last sentence to Lyn before she went outside, he realized that Lyn and Elisa must have a history. He was still confused because Lyn was still young and he didn’t know that she did something bad to her mother so it is impossible that Elisa was mad at her for no reason. They thought everything was alright now and they could continue their work but after a minute, someone knocked on the door. Enjo looked at Benji, who didn’t say a single thing since he saw Elisa. They both didn’t know what to do since it was the first time that someone knocked at the door. Elisa can only step inside and interrupt them. Benji knew that it was not Elisa since she sometimes doesn’t knock when she is going inside of someone’s room. At the end, Enjo decided to open the door. “I’m sorry,” the only thing the guard said before he went inside the laboratory to get Lyn. “Hey, wait,” said Enjo to them while they were holding Lyn’s arms. He saw her resisting and their eyes met before the guard closed the door slowly. Enjo didn’t know what to feel. He doesn’t even need her anymore since he already got what they need which is her blood but he felt like he was concerned. He kept denying to himself that he was concerned for her. The only reason that he could think of is because he might need to use her someday for their new experimentation again. While they were working, he couldn’t keep himself from thinking about Lyn’s traumatized eyes before they parted. “And the award for the best acting performance goes to..” joked Benji to lighten up the mood since he saw Enjo always messed up. “Shut up,” replied Enjo to him while he slowly poured the liquid from the test tube to another container. Enjo didn’t overthink about what happened earlier; instead, he focused on pouring the liquid from the test tube and he tried to do his best to not mess up again. The small bottle that was full of Lyn’s blood was sitting on the corner of the table. As soon as Enjo saw it, he picked it up and he looked closely at it. He picked up another small bottle that was full of another man’s blood who is living in this world. “As long as Mom knows that this blood is from her,” he whispered while looking at it.
