When Time Doesn’t Exist

Chapter 27

Everything went normal after a few days. Enjo attended his classes without absence and he focuses on his study and their topic for today since he does have anything to do with his inventions and experiments. He decided to have a break after all that happened a few days ago since he was stressed and he did not want to stress himself more.

While Enjo was busy minding his business, Lyn was still unconscious even though it happened a few days ago. The impact affected her brain and the technology triggers it. Enjo does not have any solutions until now so he decided to have a break while Benji is worried about her but he does not have ideas or answers either since Enjo could not solve it too. Benji always reminds him to solve the case but Enjo refused. He said his reason was that he just wanted to take a rest after a few months of focusing on his inventions and experiments.

“Hey, where are you up to?” asked Benji curiously when he saw his brother passed their classroom and walked faster.

“I will be back before the two last subjects end,” he responders as he looked back.

When Enjo already went downstairs, his brother did not hesitate to follow him anymore because he knows that he will probably solve the case about Lyn’s situation. After all, it is a serious problem. He let Enjo go and so did not bother him or asked further questions. Enjo entered the classroom before the teacher went in after a few minutes of them waiting. They are all present except for Enjo.

“I will give the results now about the test that was given last week,” announced their teacher as she sent their final grade on their tablet.

Everyone looked down to waited for their scores to popped up on their screen. There are a lot of students who did pass and have a green mark on their screen but there are some students who did not pass the test and have a red mark which indicates that they did not pass and they should retake the test after classes. Their teacher was disappointed because the topic was easy yet some of them still did not pass it.

One of the unlucky students who did not pass the test was Enjo. When Benji looked at his table, he saw that Enjo has a red mark on his screen. He can see it because his brother’s table is vacant. At first, he thought that he failed the test because he forgot to answer some parts of the exam. Luckily, he aced the other parts of the test that he saw and answered. He also checks Sharley’s tablet to know if she passed or not.

“Congrats! It seems like you understand the test well,” he congratulates her as soon as the teacher was done lecturing them.

“Thanks,” she simply thanked him and she quickly grabbed his bag to go to their locker room and exchange the books.

Benji was wondering because Sharley passed while Enjo did not. He saw that she was cheating on the test by looking at his brother’s tablet and copying his ideas. As soon as he knew about it, he realized that he does not have any evidence to show to his brother anymore but he knows that she cheated. He thought that it was just a test and not an exam so he just shrugged it off but he will not forget to check on her when there will be tests or exams soon.

“Gosh, why is he taking so long to come back?” asked Benji to himself when he noticed that it is already their last subject.

He is looking at the door and waiting for him to open it but when the teacher said that the class has already been dismissed, he did not wait for him anymore and he decided to pack his things so he can go home early. As soon as he went home, he immediately went to the laboratory to see him. Benji thought that his brother will solve the matter of Lyn’s situation but he saw him talking to Sharley.

As soon as he opened the door, they both looked at him. They did not even look surprised and it seems like they expected him to go here. Enjo owes some explanation to Benji but he disregards him and he continued to talk to Sharley about some important matters that Benji did not know. These past few weeks, Benji noticed that he is not close to his brother anymore and they are barely talking, unlike the other days.

“Hey, can we talk?” asked Benji as soon as he gathered his strength and confidence to talk to him.

“Yeah, spill it out,” responded Enjo while he was looking down and writing something down on his pocket notebook.

Sharley did not even bother to give them some privacy and he acted like Benji is not existing on her side. Benji looked at her and he thinks that Sharley immediately went home after she grabbed her back. At first, Benji thought that she was only going to the locker area but she ended up going here instead of attending the next class. He did not notice that she sneaked out and decided not to attend the class.

“You are wasting my time,” said Enjo bluntly to him without facing him.

As he heard what his brother said, Benji quickly turned his gaze to Enjo because he was looking at Sharley for minutes. He forgot what he wanted to talk about with his brother and also he does not want to talk to him with Sharley on his side. Benji prefers to talk to him alone so he did not bother him anymore and waited for Sharley to go home. He stayed in the laboratory and pretended to be busy.

The sunset hits so it means that Sharley needs to go home now. As expected, she grabbed her notebook and put it in her bag. She also cleaned her mess and helped Enjo to organize the things that they took on the shelf. Benji observed her because he was also waiting for her to do out so he can talk to his brother privately. When Sharley was busy cleaning and getting her stuff, Benji noticed something.

“Hold up!” shouted Benji so he can get her attention. “As far as I know, that is Enjo,” pocket notebook,” he said while pointing at her bag.

“Oh, I thought it was mine,” she responded and she just laughed it off. “I was in a hurry.”

Even though Sharley already put the pocket notebook on the table, Benji still watched her and observed how she moved. Sharley saw him looking at her peripheral vision so she got irritated. She decided to focus on getting back her stuff and cleaning the mess immediately because she is not comfortable. Benji noticed that she was getting uncomfortable so he decided to looks away.

“She is so suspicious,” said Benji as soon as Enjo went back to the laboratory after he escorted Sharley on her way home.

“So, what do you want to talk about?” asked Enjo to him.
