CHAPTER 29 Orchard Grove County Hospital was only a few minutes away from the house. In fact, it took longer for Scott and Susannah to help Kitty into her wheelchair and then pack everything into the car than it did to actually make the drive. Susannah sat in the back seat, with Kitty’s whole body resting against her. Several times Kitty made a quiet coughing sound, and Susannah would turn on the portable machine that suctioned out her throat. Megan didn’t know what to say.
