CHAPTER 28 Even though she was tired after coming home from the Orchard Grove farmer’s market, Megan hadn’t expected to sleep so long. She woke up groggy and disoriented to find her brother shaking her gently by the shoulder and apologizing. “Megan, get up. We’ve got a problem.” His words were enough to make Megan jump up in bed. What was it? She rubbed her tired eyes and waited. “It’s Kitty,” Scott explained. “Her fever’s back up again, and she’s having a really hard time breathing. Janice thinks we should probably take her to the ER to x-ray her lungs. Megan battled through the sleepy fog that still hung heavily around her thoughts. “All right.
