CHAPTER 19 Brad wasn’t used to running so much, especially not in this type of desert heat. He made his way to the trail that ran alongside the dried-out riverbed through the center of town. The worst part wasn’t his shin splints or the way the heat radiated up to his face when he ran along the black pavement.
