Book 1 Chapter 6 Father\'s Lap

Jadeite's POV

I have no idea what to think. I'm just a lowly orphan yet High King Rafe says I'm his and the late Queen Jasmine's daughter. I'm in so much shock that I almost get confused when I find myself in front of everyone on the Queen's Throne. Luckily I don't have to do anything but sit and King Rafe starts back up where he left off.

“Shall we continue? Now as all of you know the Alpha Games were created by the Moon Goddess to make sure that all of her marked Alphas stay true to the ways of the moon. Yes we are part human however we need to rely mostly on our animal halves. It's the way we were made so we must stick to the Goddesses plan for her people. Her marked Lunas are meant to be loved and cherished as any women in the pack should be.”

He paused awhile and continued "It is the Alphas duty to show their pack how they must act and teach them the ways of the Moon Goddess. Alphas who do not follow the ways of the Moon must be put to death. Alphas are held to a higher standard and are taught all of this as a warning during their training. These games are meant to weed out these bad seeds to make way for the Goddess to mark a new Alpha for that pack. We do not usually start the Games with a trial but tonight we do. Guards close and lock the doors. Bring Alpha Jake infront of us and force him to his knees."

I gasp as I see the guards roughhousing Jake and forcing him to kneel in front of King Rafe, his council, and myself. Everyone is in shock except the council and my supposed father.

King Rafe continues " Alphas and Lunas I command that you listen to this man's crimes before we meet his judgment. His judgment was predetermined by the Moon laws for he has broken several."

Just then there is a banging on the doors that makes me jump in my seat. I do not know what to expect out of this whole affair. I'm not used to being the center of attention and now I'm sitting in front of everyone as they all look towards the banging on the door.

Something was handed through the door and I could hear whispering but can't make out the words. The guard walks toward King Rafe and hands him an envelope. King Rafe turns to me and opens it to check the contents. He reads the paper and smiles so wide you can see all his perfectly straight white teeth.

He walks over and hands the paper to me. I look at him so many questions in my turquoise eyes that I just noticed matched his. He gently takes my hand and slips the paper between my fingers. I bring the paper closer to me and look at its contents. Holy Moon! I am his daughter! How did he get this information so quickly? I look up and smile at him and he sighs in relief.

Oh Moon he was worried. Gemini is going crazy in my head. She was to nervous to believe it before but she had been talking to Nightmare and now sees the proof. She's extremely excited to finally have a family and so am I!

"I have a family I finally have a family!" I whisper. King Rafe overhears me and picks me up into the biggest hug the only hug I've ever had. I'm ugly crying, sobbing loudly for all to hear but King Rafe doesn't seem to care he carried me to his throne and sets me on his lap.

I curled into him clutching his shirt for dear life like he's going to disappear at any minute. This is a dream it has to be a dream! I'm not sure how long I stayed there. I started to lose track of time until I heard a small sneeze and realized we are still in front of everyone. I squeaked and buried my head farther into my Father's chest.
