The last werewolf standing

Chapter 9

*** Angel’s POV ***

I am fighting with a huge woman, but I can’t wait for the fight to end. I could have finish her off with the first strike, but people need the show I guess so I will just play with her for a few minutes. Suddenly a delicious scent hits my nose like wood and orange and Sky starts jumping around in my head while she is chanting.

‘Mate, mate, mate.’ I look towards the direction where the smell is coming from, just to meet the eyes of the most handsome and good-looking guy I have ever seen. He is my mate… the moon goddess chose a good one for me, that’s sure. He just looks at me with adoration in his eyes and I want to smile at him, but then the woman punches me on the side of my face what brings me out of our blissful moment.

‘Finish her off already and go to mate.’ Sky says frustratedly and I hit the woman with big force and she falls to the floor unconsciously. I turn back to him to see him standing on the edge of the ring while he is looking at me with pride. I can’t handle the distance anymore so I walk up to him and touch his face. I feel the tingles in my whole body.

‘Mate is very beautiful.’ Sky says and I couldn’t agree more. His dark brown hair and green eyes are beautiful.

“Hi.” I tell him with a smile and he smiles back at me.

‘Oh my god Sky, that’s smile is deathly.’ I tell her.

‘Mark him, right now.’ She says and I take my hand away from his cheek fast.

‘Are you crazy? He is a human.’ I tell her and block her when I see the confused face of our mate.

“You were awesome, I am Damon.” He says and holds his hand out to me for a handshake. I smile at him and accept his hand. I feel the tingles once again and I think he does too, seeing his surprised expression.

“I am Angel.” I tell him and his smile widens. I get it why though. Angel and Damon… the moon goddess was in her funny mood, I see.

“Would you like to have a drink with me Angel?” He asks and I nod my head with a wide smile. I shudder when I hear how my name rolls down his lips.

“With pleasure, Damon.” I tell him and he escorts me out of the ring by my hand while the people are staring at us strangely. The show goes on as they announce the next fighters but we are in an other dimension right now, just the two of us.

“What’s wrong with you man?” I hear Daniel’s voice so I break the eye contact we were holding all the way from the ring and look at Daniel. “Angel, he is my friend I was talking about earlier, but I see you already met him.” Daniel says sarcastically and I think he is a bit jealous. Damon looks at him too and dares him with his eyes to say something about him holding my hand.

“Daniel, thanks for bringing this beautiful and talented girl here, let’s have a drink with her , shall we?” He says and points towards the booth behind Daniel.

“I will be right back, I just want to change first.” I tell him with a blush on my face what surprise even me. I have never blushed in my whole life.

“Alright, we will be waiting for you here.” He says softly and presses a kiss onto my cheek what makes me blush even more. I head to the changing room hurriedly to be back as soon as possible. I let Sky through the link and she barks at me angrily.

‘Why did you block me? I want to be with mate too, don’t be selfish Angel.’ Sky says angrily and I feel bad.

‘I am sorry Sky, I won’t do it again, but I couldn’t concentrate on him while you were talking to me. I still need to use to that.’ I tell her and she lets out a sigh.

‘Alright, I will try not to talk to you when you are in a conversation, only if it’s important, alright? Just don’t block me again, please.’ She says.

‘Okay, sorry. Oh my god Sky, he is perfect. Let’s change fast and get back to him.’ I tell her excitedly.

‘Yes, he is. I told you everything will be okay once we find him.’ She says and I change my clothes fast and head back towards his private booth. I am walking amongst the crowd when I look towards his booth to see him but I stop in my tracks as soon as I catch a glimpse of him. A girl in sl*ty clothes is leaning over him while he is sitting and she is kissing him. I wait a few seconds to see if he will push her away but he doesn’t, he is kissing her back and before I can go to them and rip her head off, Sky lets out a deep and very loud territorial growl what makes the whole building shake. Damon jumps up in alert and to my biggest surprise he takes a gun and a sword out from under the table and looks around at everyone to see who was the one growling while Daniel does the same. I look at his weapons and gasp as soon as I catch the logo on them. That’s the logo my parents warned me about in my whole life. The logo of the hunters who killed the werewolf population. I take a few steps back while Sky is whimpering in my head and saying ‘run’. Our eyes meet and his eyes widen in surprise.

'We should leave.' Sky says and I can see Damon's hold on the sword loosen for a moment but then his expression hardens and he points the gun in my direction. I look at him for the last time with a painful expression before running out of there with full speed, not caring about anyone seeing me.

‘What have you done, Sky?’ I ask her while I am crying. I run as fast as I can towards the forest, she doesn’t answer, she just whimpers and cries in agony. ‘If you didn’t growl and let them know what we are, we would sit there next to him right now.’ I tell her.

‘He is a freaking Hunter, Angel.’ She screams hysterically.

‘I know that, but we could have change his mind with time maybe. He would have fallen in love with us before he finds out.’ I tell her and she just cries even more.

As soon as I reach the forest, I shift into my wolf and run as fast as I can. I can’t go back to the motel for my stuff because they will look for me there first so I run in the opposite direction. I don’t know what I will do, they are the hunters my parents told me about so I need to run and hide from them. What the moon goddess was thinking when she paired me up with one.

‘Wait, Sky? Do you think he is the leader? Daniel said his friend, Damon took over his father’s business, right? He said Damon didn’t really want it, I guess because he thought they killed all of us.’

‘Maybe.’ She says while sniffing. ‘That’s even worse, Angel.’ She says and starts whimpering again. I agree with her, what an unlucky situation. I go to live my life and to find my mate, but at the first ‘job interview’ if we can call it like that, I blow my chance for a job and I blow my chance by my mate as well. It’s just f*cking great. Now he wants to kill me, that’s the roten cherry on the top.

*** Damon’s POV ***

(A little bit earlier)

I can’t believe how beautiful she is and the attraction was mutual, she couldn’t take her eyes off of me, just like I couldn’t take mine off of her. Like we know each other since forever.

“What the hell was that?” Daniel asks angrily as we wait for Angel.

“What was what? Didn’t you see how much she likes me?” I tell him c*ckily and he shakes his head in disbelief.

“Damn it, Damon. I really like that girl, why you need to ruin it for me, I know you just want to bang her like all the others.” He says and I glare at him. I know he is right but Angel is different, I can’t explain how but she is.

“Here is your juice.” Roxy says and hands me my drink while she brushes her finger on my c*ck what is hard like stone since earlier. Watching Angel in the ring made me hard, I was even thinking to go after her and have my way with her in the changing room, but I changed my mind since she deserves better. I close my eyes from the sensation and imagine it’s Angel’s hand. Roxy then turns my head to the side and kisses me. I imagine it’s still Angel but it doesn’t feel right, but before I can push her away I hear an animalistic growl, so loud the whole f*cking building starts shaking. I stand up right away because as surprising as it is, I know what kind of animal can growl like that.

A werewolf.

I take my hided weapons, luckily my father convinced me to have some everywhere, I look around to find the creature and my eyes lock with Angel hurt ones. I frown for a moment, why does she look hurt, I can even see some tear drops on her cheeks. Then I realise probably she saw me kissing Roxy and it hurts her. Sh*t, we didn’t even have our first date yet, but she is already crying because of me.

Suddenly I can see her eyes darkening for a few seconds, it’s not easy to notice, but I did. I learned enough about werewolves to know how their eyes darken when they talk to their wolf. F*ck my life, It’s her.

She is the werewolf.

Now it all makes sense. I am sure she knew who I was and it was her plan to seduce me with her tricks. I point my gun at her, but before I can react she is gone like she was never there.
