Chapter 11 Remembering Cheyenne

Isaiah’s P.O.V
I actually had a lot of fun with my nieces, watching them training the new recruits, but I didn’t fully have my mind on it after talking to dad about mom. I had never heard stories about how they met and I wanted to hear more. I had already spoken to Gabby about it and she was eager to hear more as well, so seeing as it was still early and I had more than enough time to get ready, we went to go see dad and knocked on the door to his office.
“Enter.” Dad said and we both walked inside, closing the door behind us and sitting down on the couch.
“Hey kids, what’s going on?” Dad asked, looking up from his computer.
“Dad, we would like to hear more about you and mom, about how you met and everything.” I asked and Gabby nodded.
“Yeah, I want to know about it too, how did you two meet?” Gabby asked, sitting up straighter in her chair.
Mercury's P.O.V
“I remember it like it was yesterday, you see I wasn’t very nice all those years ago. I was a little meaner and a lot more aggressive. Your mothers parents, not your grandpa Hawk, your mothers adoptive parents, owed me a lot of money back then and her father couldn’t pay me back, so he offered your mother to me as p*****t. She was a firecracker back then and even punched me a few times, but I fell in love with her. Gabrielle, you don’t know this, but your mother was human when we first met. She actually came with me to a collection and jumped in front of me to save my life, but she got stabbed in the process. Your mother was losing a lot of blood, she was dying so I had to change her. The thought of losing her scared me to death and after the initial shock of her being turned into a wolf and throwing a load of s**t at me, everything turned out good. As you know not many humans know about us and the ones that do know don’t say anything because they just want to live in peace, so not all humans are bad.” I said, but both Gabby and Isaiah looked confused.
“Dad, what do you mean mom’s adoptive parents? Isn’t Hawk our real grandfather or did he adopt mom as well?” Gabby asked, making me laugh.
“Now this part is going to confuse you a little. When I met your mother she was living with a man and woman that she called her parents, but they weren’t her real parents, they adopted her when she was young. Your mothers real dad is Hawk, but her real mother, Hawk’s mate, was already with another man when he found her and she was also human, but the man she was with killed her.” I replied and they both nodded.
“We miss her dad.” Gabby said and I sighed.
“I know, I do too. I miss her and love her too. She was with me for so long that I have had to learn to live without her and it's been hard, but I’m trying. Gabrielle, I’m sorry I wasn’t there when you found your mate, but I would like to meet him and you know what it's going to be about when I do. He can’t just walk into your life without me asking him a few questions and he will need to go on a few collections with me as well, so that I can see if he can handle this life. Ask both your sisters, I did the same with their mates William and Axel.” I said and Gabrielle chuckled.
“Dad, he’s amazing and he’s good to me, but if you want to interrogate him then go ahead, he already knows it's coming.” Gabrielle replied, making all of us chuckle. I bet it was Anna and Selena that grassed on me about the interrogation.
“That's good then, it will make it more interesting for me.” I said, giving her an innocent look.
“Alright dad, I need to go get ready for my date.” Isaiah said and I nodded.
“Have fun, but not too much fun and just make sure that you don’t tell her about us, not just yet, okay.” I said and he nodded, getting up from his chair and walking out.
“Not so fast, young lady, sit down.” I said, as Gabrielle stood up.
Gabrielle’s P.O.V
I knew when my dad used that tone that I was going to be in for an earful, so I sat back down ready to listen, but knowing full well what it was going to be about. When mom visited me in my sleep she told me that dad would come back and realise his mistakes, but the old him would be on full alert from now on. Here we go, I was ready for it and I was also going to enjoy this because I had missed this side of my dad.
“Alright dad, what's going on?” I asked and that's when he let me have it, but the whole time I was smiling inside.
“Gabrielle, I know that I’ve been out of it since your mother has been gone and I know that I haven’t paid much attention to you kids, for which I am truly sorry about, but it doesn't mean that you get to just pick up and move your things out of this pack and into your sisters pack.” Dad replied and I quickly held my hands up to him.
“Wow, dad, calm down, it's only thirty minutes away. I moved there because I found my mate. I admit that at first I left because I couldn’t stand by and watch you destroy yourself, but when I got settled in there I found Terry and that's when I decided to stay.” I said, defending my actions.
“That's fine, but I’m back now and I’m taking my pack back into my hands. I know it's been rough and it’s going to be hard, but I’ll be okay.” Dad replied and I nodded.
“I’m happy your back, daddy, I really am.” I said, getting up and walking over to him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly, showing him how much I missed him.
“Alright dad, I’m heading home and I promise I’ll bring Terry over tomorrow.” I said and he hugged me back.
“You better because he won’t like it if I have to go there to meet him.” Dad said, making me laugh as I let go of him and walked out of the door.
“Dad's back.” I whispered to myself, smirking.
Mercury’s P.O.V
I enjoyed talking to the kids about Cheyenne, it felt nice to relive our time together. I smiled as Gabrielle left and then I turned my attention back to my computer, looking at the next collection I needed to handle. It would be happening tomorrow, it wasn’t that far from here and it would be an ideal time to take Terry with me. I’ll ask Isaiah, Hawk and Spike to go with me on this one as well. It could be fun to break Terry in somehow
