Chapter 24 lecture

updated Isaiah’s P.O.V This man was a hell of a weird sight to see, especially his eyes. They weren’t the eyes of a man, well not a normal man. He had blue, green and red around his eyes and if dad hadn’t told me beforehand what he was then I would have thought it was just paint, but I knew that it wasn’t paint. That was his skin colour, but it was his eyes that were amazing to me because part of them was blue, but the other part was gold. He blinked a few times, but it wasn’t the normal way because his eyelids closed side to side and then up and down, but they changed colour just like how our eyes did. “Hello Alpha Druk, I’m sorry I’m late, I fell asleep as I had a long night last night, I didn’t mean to offend you.” I said, but he just chuckled. “You haven’t offended me, I’m fine. I take it you were with your mate.” Alpha Druk replied and I nodded. I took my seat in front of dad’s desk and turned to face Alpha Druk who was sitting on the couch. We sat and talked for a while about pack business and I listened to dad and Alpha Druk reminisce about the last time they saw each other and what they got up to, but then after a while Alpha Druk looked a little tired. “Druk, you must be tired from all those flights.” Dad said and Alpha Druk nodded. “I’ll take you to your room. Isaiah, can you wait for me here please.” Dad said and I nodded. I knew I was about to get another bollocking for being late, but I also knew that I deserved it. Dad and Alpha Druk left the office and after a few minutes dad returned and sat on the edge of his desk. “Isaiah, if you're going to be the next Alpha then you need to get your s**t together or I’ll be Alpha till the day I die, is that clear? Ever since you found out Ava is your mate all you have been doing is thinking with your d**k, when you should be thinking with your head. I know that when you first meet your mate everything revolves around them, but there are dangers out there that she doesn’t know about, so start using your head and think, son.” Dad said and I knew he was right. I had been wanting to mate with Ava non stop and all I could think about was her, but I knew I needed to calm down and be the Alpha that dad needed and knew I could be. “I’m sorry, dad, I will do better, I just wasn’t thinking with the right head.” I replied and dad burst out laughing. “No s**t Sherlock, so come on, when are you seeing her again?” Dad asked, making me laugh a little. “Well I was going to be seeing her tomorrow night and then I changed it to going tonight and surprising her, but if you want me to stay home I will.” I replied, but dad shook his head no. “No, go see her to make sure she is safe and that nothing is going on. Invite her here tomorrow night and have her spend the night, that way it will give us time to go to the forest around her house and check everything out because if there is a rogue problem then we will fix it fast. Now get your s**t together and get going. I’ll let Druk know you will be out, besides he’s probably busy right now as his mate just got here.” Dad said and I nodded. “You said that she is a dragon like him, but is she just like him, I mean her eyes and everything else?” I asked and dad nodded. “Yes, she is very kind, so just make sure that if they are up when you get back that you are polite. Now get going, I’m sure Ava is waiting for you.” Dad said and I quickly nodded as I got up and headed out just as Alpha Druk walked back into dad's office. Druk’s P.O.V I was trying to enjoy my time with my mate, but something told me that I needed to go to Mercury, so I went back downstairs to his office and then I heard him scolding his son. It made me laugh a little at how he was now because I remember the days when Mercury was younger and I couldn’t tell him anything. He thought he was doing everything right until that day he got caught by humans. He was in his wolf form and they threw a net over him, locking him up in a cage at the zoo. He would have been stuck there if I hadn’t flown in to get him out. He has got into so much trouble over the years it was nuts, but once he found Cheyenne he calmed down. Sadly Cheyenne has passed away and I had feared that Mercury would soon go back to his old ways, but to my surprise he hadn’t. I guess that having kids to look after keeps you calm and out of trouble. “Mercury, you should lighten up just a little. He’s only twenty two, he’s still young and I remember you being the exact same way.” I said, walking into his office after Isaiah had left. “That's the problem, Druk. he reminds me of me so much that it scares me. Gabrielle reminds me of her mother with how she doesn’t take s**t off anyone, but Isaiah is playing on dangerous ground by marking his mate already. He should have taken it slower seeing as she is human.” Mercury replied, sighing. “Mercury, you have got to let him learn the hard way sometimes, just like you did. Besides I remember what you were like when you first met Cheyenne and you didn’t take things slowly either.” I said and he nodded. “Yeah, I guess I have to do that. Maybe in a few days he will calm down, but for now I’ll stay off his back some. After all, how else is he going to learn anything? Anyway Cheyenne and I were completely different, she was injured so I bit her and it turned her.” Mercury said, defending himself a little, but I just shook my head. “Really, because I remember you marking her and her marking you without knowing or did you think I forgot about that?” I replied and he laughed. “Yeah, I remember and I know that you're right. You had better get back to your mate, I’m sure she missed you.” Mercury said, shaking his head. “Yeah, okay, just take it easy.” I said, standing up and leaving his office. I went back to my mate Natalie and found her in our room, unpacking her bag. “Is everything okay, Druk?” Natalie asked me as I walked in. “Yeah, I just had to remind Mercury about how he used to be and to lay off his son a little, to let him learn the hard way.” I replied and she nodded. “That's good advice, love. I remember you hanging him upside down by his feet because he ran from his grandparents, that was a full sight to see, especially when you put him down and he was so dizzy that he kept falling down. Even his grandparents couldn’t stay mad at him after that.” Natalie said, making me laugh as I remembered that day. “You know why we came here, the Moon Goddess needs us to remind him that there’s a second chance mate out there for him somewhere and we both know that if Cheyenne talks to him about this he won’t listen to her. She was his forever first love and it's going to be hard for him to accept this.” I replied and Natalie sighed. “Yes, I know my love, but we need to do something and get him ready for her because if he meets her right now then he might reject her if we’re not careful. Come on, let's sleep. Tomorrow is another day, but tonight is ours, so come cuddle me and sleep.” Natalie said and I didn’t have to be asked twice. I got in bed next to her and wrapped my arms around her, hugging her tightly to my body as we both fell asleep. Isaiah’s P.O.V I knew my dad was right, I knew I needed to calm down and start thinking with my head instead of my d**k and I knew that I needed to be thinking more like him, but it was hard to do that when I was around Ava. I walked into the club and I smelled her scent straight away, so I followed it to the bar and sat down. She smiled when she saw me and brought a beer right over to me. “I wasn’t expecting you until tomorrow night, but I’m glad you came. It's been a good night and I might be able to build onto my house if the night keeps going the way it has been.” Ava said, smiling brightly. “Well that’s great news. Listen, I’m sorry about last night, I was just that into it and I love to bite.” I said, but she just giggled. “Don’t worry about it, I like how the bite looks like a half moon, so don’t worry, I’m okay and nothing bad happened.” Ava said and I felt so relieved that she was okay with it. “Right, so tomorrow night I was wondering if you don’t have any plans you could spend the night at mine and we can get to know each other even more, plus you can cook that fried eggplant for me, they’re ready to be picked.” I said and her eyes lit up at that. “Heck yeah, I would love to pick and cook it. Sure I would love to spend the night and your family seems nice, so I’m sure I’ll be safe.” Ava replied, making me smirk. “Are you sure about that?” I asked and she chuckled as she gave a beer to another customer. I smiled, but then as I breathed in I smelled the scent of a rogue. I started looking around and saw that the other wolves smelled it as well, some of them growled as they looked around at where the smell was coming from. “Dad, rogues are at the club and the other wolves smell it too. Ava is the only human here, what the hell am I going to do? What if they start fighting or shifting?” I said, mind-linking my dad as I looked around. “Isaiah, make sure that whoever it is doesn’t get near her, stay by her side and I’ll link the other wolves. I’ll be there shortly.” Dad replied and ended the link. s**t, I hope he hurries because if things kick off and they start shifting I have no idea how I’m going to explain that to her.
