updated Mercury’s P.O.V Shit! First there were rogues in the woods near Ava’s house and now they are at her club. What the f**k is going on?! Ava is human and any shifting is sure to freak her out, possibly even scare her for life. s**t! I know that Isaiah can handle the situation, but I just couldn’t let him do this on his own. “Spike, Hawk, meet me outside now. We need to get to Ava’s club fast, rogues are there and so is Isaiah.” I said, mind-linking them and rushing out of my office. I met Hawk and Spike outside and we all jumped in the car, speeding out of the territory and to Ava’s club. When we got there I could smell the rogues straight away, but we didn’t want them to know we were here, so Hawk, Spike and I stayed back in the shadows. It felt pretty weird being back in this club after all these years, but then I saw Isaiah standing at the bar with Ava. I could tell that he was on high alert as he kept looking around, but he was also being careful as he did, so that Ava wouldn’t wonder what was going on. “Spike, Hawk, go mingle and see if you can pinpoint where the scent is coming from.” I said, mind-linking them and they nodded. Hawk hadn’t met Ava yet, so he could easily just walk up to the bar and order a beer or two, while keeping an eye open, which is exactly what he did. I stayed back in the shadows, but some of the wolves already knew I was there and they simply nodded and went on looking for the source of the rogue smell. Spike’s P.O.V I went to the bathroom and I immediately stiffened up as I walked in and smelled the rogue's scent. “The rogue is in here, hiding in the stalls.” I said, mind-linking Alpha Mercury. I walked to the stall and kicked the door open, then grabbed the rogue and jerked him out of the stall. “Either you come with me peacefully or I’ll cut your throat right now.” I said, but the rogue just smirked. “You wouldn’t do anything in front of a human.” The rogue replied, so I took my dagger and placed it against his neck. “Just try me, motherfucker.” I said, pressing the blade into his skin. I walked him outside through the side door, marked exit and was joined by Mercury and Hawk. I let the rogue go and Mercury quickly pinned him against the wall, squeezing his throat. “Why the f**k are you here?” Mercury asked, using his Alpha tone so that the rogue couldn’t lie or refuse to answer. “I was told to come here to watch this human. I was told to watch her and see if she tries to harm any of the wolves here. I was told I had to kill her by the end of the night.” The rogue replied, shocking all of us. Why and how would Ava even hurt any of us. Was this rogue delusional? “Who told you to kill my son’s mate? What is your name?” Mercury asked and the rogue sighed. “My name is Bull. I told him this could happen and he didn’t listen to me. I told him that this human is harmless and that she knew nothing about us, it was Pina. Hell even the Alpha rogue doesn’t know that he sent me here. I was just going to leave when the club was closing, but then everyone started to smell my scent, so I had to hide and the bathroom seemed the only option.” The rogue replied and I could tell that Mercury was pissed off. Ava wasn’t only his soon to be daughter in law, she was also the future Luna of our pack and as a Luna she was to be protected above everything. “I’m going to give you a message to take back to your dear friend. Spike, hand me your dagger.” Mercury said and I held it out for him. Mercury took the dagger from me and ripped open the rogue's shirt. “Hold this piece of s**t so he won’t be able to move.” Mercury said and Hawk and I grabbed his arms, pinning him down on the floor. Mercury took the dagger and started carving his chest and stomach up, leaving the message…. Leave her alone or I’ll rip your f*****g head off. Mercury. The rogue was screaming out in pain and we were struggling to hold him down, but once Mercury was done writing or rather carving his message we let go of him and stood him back up. “Now go home and give him the message. If anything happens to her, I promise I’ll hunt you and your pack of rogues down and kill every single one of you. NOW GO!!!” Mercury said, shouting the last part. The rogue ran off holding his chest and trying to get as far away from us as possible. Bull’s P.O.V I really didn’t want to be there anymore, not after he had carved me up like this. My chest and stomach were on fire, bleeding, but the only thing I wanted to do was get back home. I didn’t go see Pina when I got back, instead I went straight to Alpha Drake. I went straight to his room and knocked hard and fast on the door, but I was beginning to get dizzy from the blood loss. Alpha Drake opened the door and I fell forward, onto the floor in front of him. “What the f**k happened, Bull? Who the f**k did this to you?” Alpha Drake said, turning me over and looking at my blood covered chest and stomach. “Alpha Mercury, did…did this to me…because of Pi…Pina.” I replied, as Alpha Drake helped me up and over to the couch. He helped me lie down and then grabbed a towel and pressed it to my wound, where he saw the writing carved into me. “It's a message from Alpha Mercury. Pina wanted me to watch this human who is dating Mercury’s son, Isaiah. He marked her and mated with her the other night, but I can tell that she hasn’t got a clue about us and what we are.” I said and Alpha Drake growled. “Where the f**k is Pina?” Alpha Drake asked, just as a few pack members came rushing into his room. “I don’t know, sir.” I replied and he growled again. “FIND THAT PIECE OF s**t PINA RIGHT NOW AND BRING THAT SORRY SACK OF s**t TO ME AS SOON AS YOU HAVE HIM!!!” Alpha Drake shouted, making all of the guards jump and run out of his room to go look for Pina. Alpha Drake turned his attention back to me and then a doctor came in, rushing over to me. Alpha Drake must have mind-linked him when he linked the guards as the doctor came with his medical bag and other things. He began looking at my wounds and thankfully they were starting to heal, but then the doctor ripped them open again. “Your wounds are healing, but you will be permanently scarred.” The doctor said, making me shake my head as I looked at my chest and stomach. Isaiah’s P.O.V “Everything is fine, son, we took care of the rogue and he is gone now. I’ll see you when you get home.” Dad said, mind-linking me and I let out a breath of relief. I had no idea what I was going to do if it kicked off here and Ava saw everything. “Okay, I’ll be home shortly, just going to follow Ava back home without her knowing to make sure she is safe and that no other rogues are hanging around near her house.” I replied, mind-linking him back. “Fine, but afterwards we need to talk about these rogues.” Dad said and ended the link, but I felt like there was something he wasn’t telling me. When the club closed I helped Ava clean everything up and put things away, before walking her to her car and kissing her goodbye.I waited until she was far enough away and then shifted into my black wolf. “It's about time, I’ve been wanting to go for a run for a while now.” My wolf Jenson said, sniffing the air and stretching his legs. “Well what are you waiting for then, let's run, but keep up with her. We need to keep our mate safe.” I replied and we took off running into the woods. My wolf and I ran through the woods all the time keeping up with her car and keeping it in sight as we ran. When we got to her house I watched her go inside and then I took a look around, all the time staying hidden. There was nothing here thankfully, but I still wanted to stay and keep an eye on her. “Isaiah, I need you to come home so we can talk.” Dad said, mind-linking me and then he ended the link before I could respond. I wonder why he wants me home right now. Alpha Drake’s P.O.V I paced the floor of my office, waiting for my guards to bring Pina to me like I had commanded, but the more I paced the more I felt like I was going to burn a hole in the floor. Suddenly the door burst open and the two guards I ordered to get him threw him through the door, making him land on the floor and then they stood to the side, closing the door behind them. He looked like they had beaten him up, which was good considering what he had caused, he deserved it. “GET UP!!!” I roared and Pina quickly stood up, but he had a confused look on his face, which only pissed me off. “Why am I being beaten up and thrown on the floor? What the hell did I do?” Pina asked, brushing himself off, but I just snarled at him. “Bull, get your ass in here. I know you’re out there.” I said, sensing him. The door to the office opened and Bull walked inside, with his head bowed. “Show him.” I said and Bull knew exactly what I was talking about, so he lifted his shirt and showed Pina his chest and stomach. Pina looked carefully at it and then read the words that were carved into his flesh. “But I didn’t….” Pina started to say, but I quickly cut him off. “SHUT THE f**k UP WITH YOUR LIES!!! WHY THE HELL WASN’T I TOLD ABOUT THIS HUMAN?! IT SEEMS TO ME THAT YOUR TRYING TO GO OVER MY HEAD, PINA!!! ARE YOU TRYING TO CHALLENGE ME?!!!!” I shouted at him and he quickly turned pale. “No Alpha, I’m not, you have been busy for a few days, so I didn’t think you would mind.” Pina said, but I just snarled at him again. “HOW ABOUT KNOCKING ON MY f*****g DOOR, JACKASS!!! THE NEXT TIME ONE OF MY MEMBERS COMES HOME LOOKING LIKE THIS, I’LL HAVE YOU VANISH TO THE DARKEST PART OF THE FOREST, WHERE THEY SAY EVEN THE DRAGONS WON’T GO!!! NOW GET YOUR ASS OUT OF MY OFFICE!!!!” I shouted, feeling my anger rising up. I looked over at Bull as he slowly lowered his shirt and I could see that he was still in a lot of pain from the wounds inflicted on him because of Pina’s f*****g stupidity. Pina’s P.O.V I ran out of Alpha Drake’s office as fast as I could and straight up to my room. I have never in my life seen Alpha Drake look so pissed off before, but I had to do something. Surely he and Bull understand that, right? I don’t trust humans and if I could I would kill every single one of them. Isaiah’s P.O.V I made it home just as my dad was coming out of his office, but he looked even more stressed than before and it made me wonder what exactly happened with the rogue at Ava’s club or had something else happened? “Did you see her home safely?” Dad asked and I nodded. “Good, go rest up. You will be bringing her here tomorrow, so make sure that she has room in your closet and she will also need to start getting to know about us. Tell her to bring a few days worth of clothes because she will be staying here for that long, at least until I know the threat is over.” Dad said and I nodded. “What happened with the rogue, did he say why he was there?” I asked, but dad just shook his head and that worried me. “We’ll talk about it tomorrow, for now go rest. Goodnight.” Dad replied, walking away from me and going upstairs to his room. Something more than just the rogue was bothering him and I didn’t know what it was, but the only thing I could think of was it had something to do with mom.
