As they headed back to the Taylor home, Stella felt sure that the New Haven forensics team would have uncovered trace evidence by now to take them further.
With no obvious motives and no apparent reason for this b****y crime, the evidence in this case would be critical and she hoped it would guide their next steps.
When they approached the house, she saw one of the forensics team outside peeling off his gloves and footwear as he spoke to Grant.
“I hope you had a productive time,” Stella said sympathetically. Working in such a bloodbath as Grant had described must have been nightmarish, even for a seasoned forensics expert.
The tall man turned to Stella looking as sickened as she’d expected. And more, too. Worryingly, he looked discouraged.
