CHAPTER 6

1623 Words
(VIOLA’S POV) I wanted to faint or something. How could I have missed such a tiny detail on Saturday? He was a biker. I didn’t even care to notice that because of how pissed I was to find that I had someone at my secret spot. What did this even mean? Was this the exchange student? What exactly was this even about? The whole exchange student drama. The biker recognized me too because his eyes lit up. He was nodding his head at the principal who was instructing him but he kept his gaze fixed on me. “Is that-“ Pat said trailing off as she looked over the boy who stood a few feet from us. The biker said something to the principal and then with a stiff nod he started walking towards us. I felt my chest was going to explode. What the hell was he doing? Was he coming to meet me directly in front of everyone? We held each other’s eye contact as he walked and then as he passed me, he said in a whisper loud enough for me to hear. “Hey, Fiesty Chick.” “Oh My God! Viola!” Pat exclaimed grabbing my hand in what looked like excitement. For a second, I was worried that she had heard him and what he had said but when she started talking about how hot and flustered she got just by him walking by, I knew she did not hear a thing that I said. Well that was okay. Having her mind occupied with this meant that she did not get to notice how sick I looked. How distracted I was. How i did not even know that we had arrived at our class because i was walking like someone who was in a trance. Pat was still gushing over him when we were in class and we were seated. She only stopped talking when Natalie Fisher made her way in to the class. “Well here comes the drama queen.” Pat said with a lack of enthusiasm. “We just had to start the first class of the first day with her. That is great!” The sarcasm was evident and Pat was so annoyed with Natalie’s entrance that all at Inec she stopped talking about the biker and his other biker friends coming to school here and was now grumbling about any and everything that she could. Natalie Fisher was the only child of Mr and Mrs Fisher the wealthiest people in starsvalley . Natalie was a spoilt brat and she was very self centered and rude. She felt like the whole world revolved around her and she did not care about anyone but herself. Pat could not stand Natalie. To be honest, many people could not stand Natalie. It was a very long queue. I was not on it. I really didn’t care about her. Right from preschool she has had the same annoying rude and spoilt character, taking note of her was even more annoying so I just did not care. However Natalie did not like me. In fact Pat thought that Natalie disliked me strongly. Asides the fact that she always tries to flirt with my boyfriend, I can’t think of anything else I would have in connection with her. Natalie entered the class in her usual manner. Her head was held high up and her hands were up too showing off her new luxurious hand bag. She settled in her seat and her best friend, Jenny Turner sat beside her. Without waiting for any time to pass, Natalie broke in to the tales of her holiday and where and where she visited. Mind you, someone only commented on how nice a bag she had with her and that was all she needed to explode in to her tales. “Hey baby.” It was Jake’s voice and while I was turning to try to see him, he gave me a kiss on my cheek and then the other before dropping one on my lips as he came and sat down on my table. “Hey babe.” I greeted tugging his chin. “How was early morning practice?” Jake shrugged. “We didn’t do anything .We just sat down talking about how the summer went.” He said to me. My boyfriend, Jake Trent is the star quarterback of our school’s football team. He was also according to Pat the most popular and gorgeous boy who attended Starsvalley high. I did know that many girls aside Natalie wanted to have their way with him. I felt lucky to have him because he loved me very much and he never took his eyes off me. “He’s on the Viola spell.” Natalie always said laughing. And whenever she did I will blush and reminisce on my fairy tale, long time relationship. “Well you are just in time for round 2 of summer tales.” Pat chirped in. “Only that you would have to wait forever till it gets to your turn, Natalie has been talking about it for hours.” Natalie paused in between her story and turned to our table. “Darn it Pat!” I said under my breath. I honestly did not like to be associated in any way with anniying Natalie. “Oh Hy there!” She greeted us with a smile that said less about happiness. “I didn’t notice you both. How was the summer?” “Brilliant.” Pat answered with gritted teeth. “We didn’t get to run in to you.” She added in a lower voice and that made Jake giggle. Natalie looked annoyed but then her eyes landed on Jake. “Jake! Hy.” She said waving from across the room. “Hey Natalie.” Jake greeted. “I heard you were at California. Your mum told mine.” She said smiling. “Uh-yeah.” Jake answered looking a little bit embarrassed. “Well we should get together and talk about it. I want to go there during winter.” She said “Sure Natalie.” Jake said with less interest. Then Natalie turned to me. “Oh Viola. You were in starsvalley for the summer as usual right? That’s too bad.” She said and then she turned around. Pat turned to look at me. “This is why I always get her first.” She said. “Silly little b***h!” “Pat you started this.” I said with a weary sigh. “Yeah you did,” Jake said. “You know how I feel about her. If I don’t start it first, she starts it and then she always finds a way to pick on Viola.” Pat was saying to us. Jake was going to say something when there was a rumble from the speakers. “Viola King please report to the principal’s office immediately.” The voice said over and over again. Everyone in class turned to look at me. Pat and Jake raised their eyebrows at me. Natalie and her best friend made an oooooh sound. “What does he want you for?” Jake asked. “I have no idea.” I said even though there was one floating in my head at the time. “I better get going.” I stood up just as Jake did too. “No babe. It’s fine. I will be right back. I’m sure it’s nothing serious.” I said to him. I didn’t want him walking me to the principal’s office because then I would look guilty of something. Also I may be having difficulty controlling my emotions. As I left the class I heard Natalie say. “I guess some things have changed over the summer. Who would have thought that Viola could be naughty.” The halls were empty and so it was only my footsteps making noise. I felt my heart racing fast. I could not stop thinking of what it could be. And I had an idea in my mind. That annoying stranger! That biker! He had probably ratted me out on that prohibited area that we met. Maybe he had told them that he had seen me there. I would be in trouble. My hands were sweaty when the secretary to the principal told me that I could go home. I entered the office and just as I had expected, the biker was seated in the chair just that he was not turned around and so he had not seen me. The principal, Mr K, had some artifacts on his table, probably displaying where he had gone to for the summer. “Good morning Mr K.” I greeted and Me K smiled “Come on in Viola.” He said ushering me the seat. “I have an assignment for you this session.” He began saying as I walked to the seat to get seated down. He was saying some other things but because I was so nervous, it was like I did not hear a thing. When I turned and my eyes met with the biker, he looked very shocked. Surprised to see me. So he was not expecting me here? That is good news I suppose . Maybe he didn’t report after all. “Mr Dalton, meet your tutor. Viola King. Viola, this is Charles Dalton, our special exchange student for the session.” Mr K said casually as if it was a normal thing to do everyday. Me and the annoying stranger whose name is Charles, sat starring at each other. I felt very light headed all of a sudden. “I’m sorry. Tutor?” I heard myself croak.
