He starts following the group of young wolves. Their energy fascinating him. There is magic flowing between some of the girls, but the way they move around each other makes it difficult to see where the magic comes from. “Trevor, who are they?” “They are the Lunar pack, Sir” The only rule his mother made was that he is to be escorted by his tutor, to ensure he doesn’t go around slandering their coven’s good name. He knows better, she doesn’t want him interacting with any “unsavory” types. “How can there be traces of magic in a wolf pack?” “Not all wolves are pure-bloods, Sir? The Lunar pack’s known for their mixed blood” Trevor says with disgust Noticing four girls grouping together, their laughter contagious he starts seeing a resemblance in some of their facial features. Their perfectly defined cheekbones, full lips, and hourglass bodies. They must be from the same bloodline. “Sir, I think it best we move away from the wolves. Your mother will be very displeased.” Trevor tries his best to distract Radagast. “I don’t see the need, Trevor. I want to see more of them. Besides, my mother is not here, she will only know if you tell her.” The girl in his family colors capturing his attention. Pulling him in. Pulling him closer. When she turns around... time slows down, her silver hair flaring around her shoulders. Her grey eyes locking with his. He needs her, wolf or not! He has found his mate! She smiles at him blushing slightly looking back to what she was doing. Did he imagine the spark? Did she feel the same? He has to know! *** “Circe!” “Isobel!” Circe teases. They are all hanging around a stall where the guys are trying to show off by winning teddy bears for their mates. They have to hit a rubber weight hard enough to make the bell ring... “Circe, please, I think... I think my mate is here. What do I do?” “That’s not possible. I should meet mine before you meet yours.” She keeps on teasing but looks at her sister, quickly noticing that Isobel is not her outgoing self. She is all sweaty and nervous. “Isobel? Mheegan! What? Are you being serious?” Mheegan suddenly answers on Isobel’s behalf sounding like a puppy. “Yes, Circe! Yes, yes!” If Isobel didn’t have such great control physically she would have shifted and probably been jumping up and down! “Yes, what Mheegan said. Circe! What do I do?” “Well you can walk over to him or you can wait for him to come to you, I guess. I don’t know. Mom and dad said they just knew. Do you know?” “Yes!” She smacks her hand in front of her mouth looking big-eyed at her sister. “I found my mate,” Isobel whispers. “Well, if you aren’t sure go find mom and dad.” “Mom, Dad. Where are you?” She mind links them. “Isobel is freaking out and she needs you.” “We are on a date having coffee. Let her come meet us here.” their mom replies. Circe shoves Isobel in that direction. Her attention to the fact that she is being watched the entire time, she walks over to the coffee tent, trying her best to very ladylike slide into the chair when she sees her parents. If he is a wolf, she has already given away how nervous she is. What is she going to do if he isn’t a wolf? Why didn’t he claim her immediately? “What’s up, honey?” “I found my mate.” She blurts out not being able to keep it in anymore “You WHAT?” Frank says eyes wide *** “Sir, She is the daughter of the Alpha. This the absolute worst choice you could make. You will break your mother’s heart!” “Trevor, she might be the Alpha’s daughter, but she is also one of the most powerful witches daughters, don’t forget that she is a hybrid.” he bites back, nobody is going say anything negative against his mate. How does he approach her? It has always been easy before. His father would arrange some family things, introduce the intended to him, and send them to the garden for a walk. Now she was sitting talking to her parents. He turned his attention back to the rest of the group their energy electric with excitement. How would it be to be part of that? What would it feel like to be the center of that? If he could have all of them? That electricity fuelling his magic... he starts smiling. He looks back at the young girl with the silver hair. It would have to start with her. He would have to get his foot in the door with her. *** “Oh, honey! That is amazing news! Where is he? Let us meet him!” “Mom! That is where the problem is, he is watching me. He hasn’t...” “Good evening Sir, Madam. My name is Radagast Silver-fox and I believe that this vision is my mate. I understand she is your daughter and would like your permission to take her for a walk through the festival stalls so we may get to know each other.” Silence Isobel looks from her mother to her father, back to her mother then back to her father. “Nice to meet you Radagast. Isobel, do you agree that he is your mate?” her mother responds first “Yes, mother.” Isobel is too nervous to look up at him, his arm on her shoulder, the warmth of his palm radiating against her skin, stirring all sorts of feelings inside her heart. She looks over to her father. “Then Isobel it is your choice and not ours. Would you like to walk with him?” her father responds. “Yes, father.” she nods shyly smiling, blushing bright red. “Enjoy the walk you two.” “I will return her safety to your care. My tutor Trevor will chaperone to ensure her dignity is protected.” He gives her parents a nod, taking her by her one hand to help her stand up and snaking his other arm around her waist, guiding her out of the tent. She softly shivers at the heat of his hand.
