~Melissa~
Frank “Evening everyone. It is great to see all of you so excited for tonight. Just a couple of arrangements. Parents who want peace and quiet on the way, as usual, we have the parent’s buses in the front. The rest find a spot on the other buses. Young ones, you all are going for your own specific reasons. As your Alpha I expect you to behave yourselves in a manner that will not reflect badly on our pack.”
Some of the younger males taking a chance to boo him, earning themselves an angry look from their fathers. She knows the group. They are a rowdy bunch who get a little out of hand every year.
Frank “That group of boys there, you will be joining the warriors from tomorrow if you aren’t part of them yet. You sound like you have more than enough energy to train with them.”
He smiles receiving a burst of clapping hands from their parents. He has turned out to be a father figure for all the kids in the pack which has made him a beloved Alpha in the eyes of most of the members.
Frank “Everyone this is a special evening as you all know. It is a celebration according to our Luna’s culture and a big chance for our young ones to possibly find mates. Let’s go and enjoy our time at the festival. Keep to our kind if you do not want to mingle with the others, but respect the fact that it is their right to celebrate their way. Agreed?”
~Frank~
A resounding agreement from the pack makes Melissa smile shyly in the back of the stage. She hates going up with me. Besides, she has to keep our own crew in check.
Frank “Here we go, guys! Fill those buses!”
The excitement electrifies the air with the young wolves looking forward to the festival. The buses filled, and the convoy starts moving… Finally, I stand up and look back to make sure all the buses leave and nobody is left behind. Thinking to myself what a mess it would be if we didn’t have the buses. Naked wolves arriving at the festival would not have looked very good!
I giggle making Melissa look at me.
Melissa “What?”
She asks me looking as if she is about to erupt at any moment.
Frank “Nothing.”
I shrug.
Melissa “What? You giggling like that is not a nothing.”
Frank “I was just thinking if we didn’t have the buses and this lot would arrive at the festival as wolves. You would have a bunch of naked people walking around!”
Melissa “OH Frank!!!”
She bursts out laughing knowing exactly where my brain went.
Frank “I know it would never have happened that way, but just think.”
Laughter making her cry and Greg asking what is going on, in turn making him burst out laughing. Greg’s wife is one of the few who have become Melissa’s close friends which also had to know what the joke is.
The four of us in fits of laughter silencing most of the bus.
Frank “I’m sorry everyone. I was just wondering how we are going to get that lot back home with their mates. It seems we need double the amount of buses every year.”
I try to cover my joke, but although some of the other parents seem happy to discuss the subject others seem to only now realize what it would mean.
Frank “That was close!”

The Lunar pack’s arrival at the festival is a big event. They are the biggest pack to attend. The young ladies setting the trend in the fashion world, the young men the attitude. Greg and Amanda have made sure that there is a tent set up for their pack with tables and chairs for the members who prefer to have a social visit without spending a lot of time walking around the festival.
Frank and Melissa make sure everyone makes their way out of the buses and into the festival. Their daughters some of the first ones out of the bus. The fairy lights sparkling in the trees reminding Melissa each year of the year she met Frank. Before they walk through the entrance, he looks down at her, his arm around her waist, he gives her a kiss and an I love you.
Frank spends time making sure the pack is settled and know where the tent is. Then the night belongs to him and Melissa. They always visit Emily before walking through the rows of stalls. Their daughters joining their friends to socialize with other young wolves from other packs.
~Isobel~
Isobel “Mheegan! Stop fidgeting and being such a pain, you are driving me mad!”
I still feel like an alien in my own skin and walk off on my own looking through some of the magic stalls.
Mheegan “It’s not me, Isobel! Something is wrong... someone is watching us!”
She whispers
Isobel “You are just being melodramatic. There are a lot of people here and it is probably overwhelming your senses Mheegan! Please relax now. I would like to enjoy tonight.”
Still feeling uneasy I join my sisters hoping it will calm her down.
~Radagast Silver-fox~
My family only comes to the festival when we have hand-fasting ceremonies, but how am I supposed to meet a mate when I spend all my time in the castle alone... with a tutor and staff... and my mother refuses that I even look at the staff girls for a possible mate!
This year I finally convinced her to let me come to the festival to hopefully find someone. My mother has not accepted any of the advances suggested by my father that is part of the Silver-fox coven. Seeing none of them be fit to be her daughter in law. If he can’t find me a wife in their coven as per tradition, how am I supposed to have an heir at the end of the day?
I walk around the festival, the light irritating my eyes. My black velvet suit with the silver silk lining making me stand out like a sore thumb between all of this color. I see her standing with her back to me, dressed in my family colors.
Is she perhaps a coven member? Surely a coven member wouldn’t be caught dead talking to a wolf. But she is wearing our coven colors.
