CHAPTER THIRTEEN Half an hour later, Stella and Carrie arrived at Sinsations. It was in a neighboring town, at the end of a street filled with restaurants and bars. They’d started off at the top end of the street, which was upmarket and well kept, but Stella observed that as they drove down the long road, the places started looking gradually seedier and more run-down. Sinsations was on the far side of a crossroad – a large building that she guessed must be massive inside. The neon sign that topped the building was turned off, but at night, the pink and green lettering would be a huge beacon, garish and unmissable. The detritus of the night before was still visible.
