To say Jason’s employees were shocked by what just happened, would be an understatement. They couldn’t believe that some woman bought their boss for such a low price. But they weren’t the only ones who were shocked, everyone in the room was shocked too, Ciara too. She looked at Jason with a frown on her face. Isn’t Jason supposed to be the man behind this auction? And that's also why her grandfather’s million-dollar mansion is supposed to be sold here, tonight.
Looking at Jason’s cold eyes, Ciara smiled in mockery.
“Do you have something to say to me?” asked Jason. At this question, looking at Ciara. Ciara’s body went cold. But that didn’t stop her. She looked him in the eyes and she asked what she always wanted to ask him, “ What do you want me to say?” she asked with a sneer. “Tell me how I accidentally fell into the sea and died?” Four years later, it still feels like it happened yesterday. She looked at him hard, from head to toe, “That’s in the past. We are here now. In the present,” she told him as if it doesn’t bother her anymore. As if she isn’t traumatised anymore.
Four years later her temper is different, her eyes are still beautiful and charming. Ciara who was a housewife is now completely different.
“Being cold has its own people. Unfortunately, I don’t find happiness in being cold to other people,” said Ciara still looking at Jason, refusing to back down from the staring contest she miraculously found herself in. She then turned and looked at the gentlemen sitting around the table nearest to her.
“You can have him for the night,” she told the men before she turned and walked away. This was not what she came here for.
What was Mrs. Arnolds doing? Why would he give Jason to other men? Why did she have to embarrass Jason like that? When she walked by Jason, his eyes were black and he was enraged.
“Ciara, don’t you want your grandfather’s house back?” Asked Jason, he really would do or say anything to get Ciara to talk to him. “How will you get it back if you leave now?” His tone was calm but very cold. But Ciara wasn’t fazed by it. She didn’t even stop, she continued to walk away.
It was now clear that Jason is the one who bought my grandfather’s house. It was impossible to buy it back because of the price. There were two ways to get the house back and that will mean taking the legal route and suing her uncle, aunt for illegally selling the house. However, this will mean that the Careys would be the only ones to carry the legal burden. Suing Jason, would be a complete waste of time. The other way is to try and work out a plan, and exchange something valuable. And right now she couldn’t think of anything that will amount to what the house cost.
Jason Arnold, we will meet again. Thought Ciara as she walked out of the building. The Ciara Carey Jason knew, the Ciara Carey everyone knew died in that crash 4 years ago.
“Mr. Arnold, Mrs. Arnold stayed at a nearby hotel,” reported Sam. And for the life of him, he didn’t know why Sam still referred to that woman as Mrs. Arnold, yes, they weren’t divorced. Everyone thought she was dead, even though he didn’t believe that not for a second. But, how would he divorce someone who was said to be dead?
Jason walked out of the luxurious presidential en-suite bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. Another change of clothes was on the bed. It was a shirt, tie, cufflinks and socks on the bed. His shoes were on the floor by the bed. Sam continued when he saw Jason come out of the bathroom, “The UNTV feeds from the garage were broken into. So, I can’t see who put you in that cage and sent you to the auction.” Sam hated it when he couldn’t do his job, and he really wanted to find out who put his boss there more than anything. Sam telling him this made him angry. Sam shivered when he saw the sudden mood change in his boss. Jason didn’t say anything, instead, he took the paper from a table and gave it to Sam, “Find this girl and her parents.” It was a sketch of that adorable little girl who ran into Jason earlier today.
Such a lovely little girl doesn’t look like a bad person at all.
She’s just a little girl, why was Jason doing this? Sam couldn’t help but plead with his boss, “Mr. Arnold I don’t think the little girl meant anything bad. We don’t have to find her. She was probably pranking you, she doesn’t even understand how the world works.”
“What did you just say? She’s innocent? What kind of innocent child runs into an adult and the adult later wakes up in an auction cage? And you say it was just a prank? Just a prank?” Jason was fuming, he couldn’t believe what he just heard. “I want you to find this child, find out who her parents her, especially her father. I want you to teach him a lesson. A lesson they will never forget.” Seeing that his boss was enraged, Sam didn’t dare to say anything. He needs to be careful.
Any other man would probably collapse in embarrassment if they were sent to an auction. What happened would’ve messed up their boss’ image if they didn’t think on their feet and emptied the auction hall before people could take and spread the picture of him in a cage.
“And, also find out where Ciara lives. It’s not possible for her to stay at a hotel,” said Jason before he took the body lotion from the table and he turned his back on Sam. That was his cue.

“Mommy, Mommy.” Screamed a little girl in a pink dress as soon as Ciara walked in. She squatted and kissed her adorable little face. “Did you listen to aunt Hannah last night?” She asked her little girl. The little girl nodded. “Yes, I did. If you don’t believe me ask aunt Hannah,” said the little girl.
“All the kids didn’t give me any problems, especially little Ava. She’s obedient and thoughtful, she gave me milk last night.” Said a gorgeous woman carrying a spatula walking into the porch from the kitchen.
A little boy was so annoyed by this exchange. He was confused and angry, their mummy is so smart, but did she have a stupid aunt look after them? How could she give birth to a not-so-smart little girl? Last night he had instructed Ava to put sleeping pills in aunt Hannah’s milk. But who knows what that stupid little girl put there? Aunt Hannah drank the milk in one go and nothing happened afterwards. She didn’t taste anything strange from the milk. No wonder they get along, they both aren’t smart.
“Oliver, did you take care of your sister last night?” Asked Ciara picking him up and kissing him on the cheek. The boy hated this. A lot. Oliver said his sister’s name under his breath in anger.
“Mummy, why do you like doing that?” He complains but he still lets her kiss him. Little Oliver looks a lot like his father. They have the same personality too. Ciara couldn’t help but think about their father and her mood changed instantly.
When Ciara walked into the kitchen she found Angela who looked nervous. “I have something to tell you. I don’t want you to hear about it from someone else,” she said nervously.
“What is it?” asked Ciara also getting nervous. She’s never seen Angela this nervous.
“Jason and April’s child was born not long after your babies.” Ciara was stunned but she causally broke an egg. “I knew she was pregnant. I know she gave birth. And I also heard that that child is Jason’s world. An apple of his eye. I heard so many things, they moved to Jason’s manor after getting his grandmother’s approval.”
Angela became relieved after hearing this. But she had more to say, “It seems like their daughter is in the same class as Ava.”
She paused as she was about to beat an egg, “What did you just say?” Asked Ciara turning to look at Angela
“Ava is going to be in the same class with her half-sister. April’s illegitimate child, Yolanda!”
