. “My little angel. How are you? How is your dad?” lily began her ranting without even giving a chance for Bella to reply to her questions.

“Aunt lily….aunt lily…stop it….. Here you go again. One question at a time” giggled Bella seeing Lily’s concern for her.

“Ok… smarty pants. How are you?. Let me look at you nicely. It’s been so long since I last saw you” lily began to twirl Bella to see all sides of Bella.

After careful inspection, lily released Bella from her clutches.

“did you find anything. did you checked clearly that I’m not missing any body parts right, aunt lily” Bella teased lily for doing a full body check up similar to the one done at the airport terminals.

“Yeah….yeah….you have all of your body parts intact. Go on laugh at my concern for you. Naughty brat” sulked lily after knowing that Bella was pulling her leg.

“ I’m just kidding aunt lily. I know you love me the most. You can’t ignore me” saying this, Bella poked the sulking lily who was trying her very hard to ignore Bella.

“ really…. This is how you are going to treat me then.

After seeing me again after one whole week.

I think uncle Frank has been lying to me about you missing me” Bella made a sad face while trying to control her laughter looking at the sulking lily.

“ that old man was telling the truth. I missed you so much” lily turned around and held Bella’s hand in hers.

“I really envy that old man. He gets to see you daily while here I am, I had to wait for the Sunday morning to see you” lily continued.

“do not call uncle Frank as old man. He is a handsome man” bella continued to tease lily while hiding her laugh.

“I know right. I have a super confidence in picking up handsome man. That is why I married that old man immediately, when he proposed” lily said proudly while patting herself on her shoulder.

“Don’t lie aunt lily. It was supposed to be the other way around.

I heard that it was you who asked uncle Frank to marry you. the one who made the proposal was you” bella said with a small smile.

“OK. You got it right. I asked him to marry me.

You can’t blame me right. Which women would miss such a handsome man with good behaviour, slip out of her hands.

But that stupid man, he can not get the hint I gave for marriage at all , so I had to spell it out for him” grumbled lily.

“God! aunt lily….you are so brave, to propose to uncle frank. I admire you” Bella giggled while giving thumbs up to lily.

“ stop about talking me. I will find you a handsome man to marry soon. I have great knowledge and experience in it”. Lily gushed while shaking Bella slightly.

“Don’t you worry angel. I will choose a good man with extraordinary looks for you to marry.

I will be in the place of Sara and marry you off happily” lily said with a little emotion while mentioning Bella’s deceased mom Sara.

“ Don’t be sad aunt lily. I know you will make the best choice for me. I have faith in you aunt lily.

You are like my mother” Bella said while looking at the elder woman, who had been her mother figure for the last few years.

Seeing the little girl who has a matured look and heavy responsibilities on her shoulder, Lily’s heart hurt a little.

When girls around Bella’s age went to parties and friend’s home, Bella had to stay at home and have to do extra part time works to earn more money.

When girls her age, wanted to go to college and dress extravagantly, bella had to look after her dad and need to earn money to buy meds for her dad, which are quite expensive.

Thinking all these, lily was really sad and blamed the god for giving too much misfortunes to Bella who had to bear the huge responsibility in her small fragile shoulders.

Lily also believed that God test his subjects and the one who undergoes the most hard life in past will be rewarded with a bright life in the future.

Lily only hoped that Bella would be able to find a good home and a nice husband who would look after her in the future.

Lily really wanted Bella to be her daughter.she treated Bella as her own.

That sweet little innocent soul was an angel to her.

Because of Bella’s innocent and kind character, Lilly forget her problems and didn’t worry more that she didn’t have a child of her own.

it was a blessing in disguise for both the ladies. bella got herself a mother figure, while Lilly got a god child to cheer her up in her sad life.

Because, Bella treated lily and her husband Frank as her own family and cared for them.

When lily was lost in her thoughts, Bella shook her and brought her back to the present situation.

Both the women went out of the chruch and headed towards the little park in the side of the church building where few neighborhood children were playing happily.

Usually Bella and lily would go to the park to play with the children or simply sit on the park bench and watch the children play happily.

because children’s laughter is the most precious thing in the world world.

The sounds of their giggles can cure the hidden wounds of the soul unknowingly.

Both lily and Bella try to be strong on the outer surface, while both had a deep wound on their hearts.

They both watched the children play with each other and tried to soothe their aching hearts with the sounds of the kids laughter.

It’s the truth that gods reside in the hearts of the innocent children.

The smile of the child is where the God’s grace happens to be present.
