Chapter 09 - Lost?

1078 Words
Talia felt her whole body wrapped in a cold sweat, she felt heavy and her sight became blurry as she tried to search for Trevor all around the place. “Trevor?!” she was trembling as the kids and parents stared at her in such strangeness. Talia checked every corner of the park to find her son but she couldn’t even spot even a bit of his shadow. Her mind started to feel heavy and painful when she heard a low call, “Hey! I think this guy knows something!” it was Lily who joined her in finding Trevor but when Talia turned in her direction, she saw the lady facing one of the slum boys, his hair dyed in red and was full of piercing. Talia hurriedly went to them and saw Lily happily chatting with him, “…are you sure?” she heard Lily. The young had a bored look but nodded, “I’m sure of it, he looks rich.” Talia stepped forward, “Who? Who looked rich?” her expression was in fear but hopeful. The young man stared at her down to her feet, he twitched, “Who is she?” he asked Lily. “New friend, she came with her son but he disappeared.” The young boy snorted, “That’s nothing new. Every month there’s always a case of a child missing. It’s either they got kidnapped for ransom or was taken for their organs.” Talia trembled, even more, her eyes reddened even more as if she was about to break down in tears. Lily lightly pushed the young boy’s forehead, “You shouldn’t have said that.” The boy winced, “It’s the truth.” Lily cut the useless discussion and asked, “So, where did you see that rich boy?” The boy then pointed at the part where the density of the trees was thick, “There, me and my gang came from there but was warned by the other gang that they heard some loud noise and screams last night in that area. We thought that an intense dealing was held there earlier so we evacuated, “ he said casually as if it was a normal occurrence, “But when I was about to go here after cleaning up, I saw a boy going over there. Just now.” Talia suddenly grabbed his arm which made the boy flinch in surprise, “Where is it exactly?” Talia asked. The young boy found her expression scary so he pushed her away and touched his arm, “You’re scary.” he said and turned away. “Hey!” Lily called but the boy had already run. “Goodness that child, I’ve been giving him money whenever he asks but asking any favor to him is so useless.” She sighed and turned to the side only to see that Talia was no longer there. She turned around but no longer see the lady’s figure anywhere. “Wanna see a magic trick?” one of the kids who was playing near the border of the trees asked his friend while holding a stick. “Wanna see a ghost?” The friend was already crying since he was forced here without his will. “I don’t want ghost…” “It’s too late! Now I will summon—“ All of a sudden, they felt a brush of cold air pass by them. They froze, it was so quick that they only saw a glimpse of the figure. They trembled, “G-Ghost…” The kid holding a stick also trembled, he felt the cold air right close to his neck! It was so close that he peed on his pants! “Uwaa!” the other kid screamed and ran back, along with it was the cry of the other who also ran back. “Mom! Ghost!” they cried and didn’t notice that someone’s phone was ringing. Talia passed by the trees and her gaze was fixated on each corner and tree, on her other hand was her phone ringing but she didn’t have the time to answer if she lost Trevor right now. No one would know what would happen to her. “Trevor!” she called as she passed by trees. The temperature was getting lower as the sun started to set in the west, the place was already dim and quiet. She passed by several spots where the waste of those kid gangsters remained but still no sign of Trevor. Talia was already trembling. Her head was aching and her body felt cold all over. “Trevor!” Back in the building, Patricia settled herself on Cyrus’ lap as she kissed him aggressively, grinding against him to turn him on. “Sir, can I sleep with you tonight?” she asked right on his ears as her eyeglasses fell on the floor. Cyrus had been preoccupied with things that he could only kiss the woman’s neck to fill the stress out. But they were interrupted when Cyrus’ phone rang. Cyrus saw that it was Joe who was calling, the trusted servant in the house. He frowned but ignored it and continued with their session but the phone didn’t stop ringing, only when it rang the fifth time did Cyrus have enough and took it. “Didn’t I tell you not to call me directly?” Cyrus said in anger. All of the household matters were handled by Talia so he didn’t give any care whether they flip or not, only with security matters did he have the thought of monitoring them. But having this servant call him directly irritates him. “Good afternoon Sir.” Joe calmly called on the other line. “With great consideration about whether to call you or not, we thought that we must call you this instant.” Cyrus rubbed his temple as Patricia already took her undergarment off. “I don’t have enough time.” Joe’s tone was deep and strange this time, “I just wanted to ask if the madam and Sir Trevor came in there?” Cyrus' brows met in a frown, “What?” “Sir Trevor asked Ma’am Talia to go to the park this afternoon. But it was already 7 PM and they still haven’t come back. We already stretched our communication to contact her but she wasn’t answering and when we came to the park, there was no sight of them.”
