Before he could even make a word, the handgun was shot at his head and the man immediately fell to the ground. The kid no longer had the time to scream or shout, he knew it was coming for him. The kid hurriedly turned back and ran, his tears were falling behind but he needs to run, as long as he can. The man approaching was calm as the gun in his hand made out smoke from the bullet he just wasted. It was a silencer, it didn’t make a noise when he shot the man and so does it when he would kill the kid. While the other could only run for his life, he could feel his heart beating so fast that it could pop out of his chest any minute. He never wanted to do this but there was only regret when he realized what he had done. He cried, “Mom! Dad!” He cried in the empty air, he want to live. The man saw that he seemed to be running further and further away so he finally lifted the silencer, he shot the ground just beside the kid’s foot, it made such an impact that the kid flinched in shock and stumbled, he heavily fell on the ground. The man finally had the aim for his small figure when all of a sudden, he felt an arm wrapped around his shoulder. “Hey there lovely,” he felt goosebumps all over when he heard a voice right close to his ear. He immediately attacked the unwanted visitor but despite his strength and nice reflex, he was easily bounded by the other party. They exchanged fists and kicks but the man was forced to the ground by this another person. “Bullying a kid ey?” the other asked with his manly but soft voice. The man tried to reach for his silencer but the grip on his nape tightened, he felt his headache and blood sucked out from his face, “Who…are…you…” he managed to make these words as he tried to lift his head to take a better look on his opponent. But he didn’t let him as the person hit him on his vital spot which made him lose consciousness. The person then stood and took the expensive handgun, “Pricey.” He said as he caressed the gun with such intimacy beneath his fingers but was interrupted when he heard the groan of the kid. The kid fell to the ground heavily caused by the shock earlier and had his face, arms, and knees bruised. He was crying in pain. When all of a sudden, a shadow covered his whole figure. “You’re that kid on TV, right?” the man asked with his smiling face. Morning came. Trevor had no class for the whole week since the Academy is worried about the state of their mental health ever since the incident took place. Talia also had no job or things to do so she was happy to guard him all day and all night. “How about we make a cake today, Trevor?” she asked him enthusiastically. Trevor was waiting for breakfast and replied, “I want to go out.” Talia exhaled, “We can go but to the police station.” “Why would you go to the police station?” Their heads then turned to the person who had just came and it was Cyrus with his perfect suit. Talia grabbed one of the chairs to have him sit, “Trevor met a friend during the incident that day, so he wanted to visit.” Cyrus turned to Trevor, “That bomber?” Trevor’s lips twitched and turned away. He didn’t reply. Cyrus turned to Talia, “Kids these days are still adapting to things so make sure you correct the perspectives he is absorbing.” Talia turned to look at Trevor and could only nod, “Of course.” Then he heard Cryus’s phone rang and saw clearly that it was Patricia. The smile on Talia’s face froze. Cyrus answered it, “Yes? I am about to go, tell them to wait.” Talia also panicked, “How about breakfast?” But Cyrus already ignored her as he walked out with the phone in his ear. Trevor saw all of it wide and clear, he snorted, “I bet he had an ugly perspective when he was a kid.” He remarked but shut his mouth off when Talia threw a warning glance at him. “Trevor, don’t make such a statement on your father.” Talia seriously said. “He is not my father.” He said. “He is! How can you say that?” Talia wanted to deal with this matter to him today so she sat beside him. “He is your father.” Trevor also seriously looked at her, “If we’re speaking about papers, yes he is—“ “Trevor!” Talia frowned at him. Trevor groaned. His mother was the most precious thing in the world but he thought that sometimes, he needs to deal with his naivety and being so martyr. “Mom, he is not my father. Ever since he tried to hit you, he would never be my father.” After uttering those words, silence occurred between them. Talia’s eyes widened. “W-What?” she asked in confusion. Trevor sighed, “I saw it…that night…When he was drunk, he tried to hit you.” He said in low voice, “I don’t like that.” Talia was utterly speechless. So all this time, her son knew. She reached for his arm, “Is this the reason why you…” Trevor didn’t want to make another burden so he ended up the conversation with, “Mom, I’m hungry.” Talia wanted to know all of the truth but seeing that Trevor didn’t want to make it deep. She could only remain silent as she cooked his favorite pancake. Her mind floated down. She didn’t know that Trevor witnessed that scene…she didn’t want to tell anyone, especially her son but all along, he knew. That night happened when she and Cyrus made a heated debate over something. It was trivial but she ended up getting on his nerve that he raised his hand and almost hit her…but didn’t. Her husband was drunk at that time so it was understandable to behave that way…partners usually had this occasionally right? But she snapped off on her thought when her phone rang.
