“Savannah” A voice purred, making me tingle.
I was wrapped up in warm arms. He kissed my forehead, I snuggled into his chest. He was so warm. I pinched myself. Ow. Definitely not dreaming. Now that I have figured that out, who was in my bed. I paused sniffing in his amazing scent. Samuel. I was so tired. I didn’t want to move. He can keep thinking I’m asleep. I snuggled deeper into his chest. He let out a soft chuckle.
“Cold?” He better not be waiting for an answer because I’m asleep. “I know you’re awake,” he said.
How does he know that?
“Shhh. Someone is trying to sleep,” I spoke quietly.
He chuckled. “Do you accept me as your mate?” Seriously, I am tired.
“Shh.”
“No, I’m serious,” he said, his voice hardened.
“Can’t we talk in the morning?” I asked. Why was he even here? And why am I allowing myself to cuddle with him? I just couldn’t seem to pull away from him.
“No. I’ll leave then.”
“No,” I said quickly. “I mean we should talk about this”
“Thought you would see it my way,” he said softly, chuckling. “Do you accept me?”
“I don’t know,” I said.
“Yes or no?”
“I don’t know,” I repeated.
He kissed my head, taking a deep breath.
“Will you give me a chance?” he asked, his fingers trailing up and down my arm, sending sparks through my body.
“In the morning.”
“What?”
“In the morning I’ll answer. Now stop talking.”
He chuckled. Boy does he chuckle a lot.
In his warm embrace, I fell back asleep.
“Savannah,” Samuel said.
“Yes?”
“What’s your decision? Your brother will be coming in here any minute.”
My eyes opened. If Kade sees him, he’ll go crazy.
“Go into the bathroom.”
“What? Why?”
“To hide from Kade,” I said. It should be obvious.
“Fine.” When he left the bed I reached for him. My bed was cold without him. He softly chuckled, he must have seen me.
“Sav get up!” Kade shouted as he barged in my room.
“I’m awake, go away,” I said.
“Okay, chill. Hurry up,” he said slamming my door. I’m glad he didn’t smell Samuel.
Samuel came back in and locked my door before lifting me out of the bed.
“I have legs, I can walk,” I said.
“Anyway,” he said setting me down. “Will you give me a chance?”
I still don’t like how he claimed me without my permission. Should I give him another chance? He looked at me with brow raised and a half smile playing on his lips. If he only knew what I was going to do. I pushed him, knocking him down, and dashed into the bathroom. “I think you can show yourself out,” I said. Maturity was not always my strength, but this decision takes time.
“I can’t believe you,” he said. “Fine. I’ll wait”
“No, I need clothes from my bedroom. You can go.”
He chuckled and said, “Nope. I will wait.”
I peeked open the door. To see him sitting on my bed.
“Seriously, go.”
“You will never answer me if I leave.”
He had a point. I wouldn’t answer him if he left.
“Okay, okay. Name one good reason why I should give you a chance?” I asked as I went to get my clothes.
“Because out of the goodness of the future Alpha’s heart,” he said smiling at me.
I don’t know if I should, even if he was my mate.
“Okay, I guess I could give you a chance,” I said. “A is singular.”
He smiled at me.
“Will you leave now?”
“Sadly,” he walked over to me, kissed my head, taking in my scent again before he left.
What did I just agree to?
After I finished getting ready I headed to school with a smile, a genuine smile. This cannot be all about Samuel.
“Hey, Sav,” Jason said smiling.
“Hey,” I said.
“You look better today. Where’s Kade?” he asked, slinging his arm over my shoulder.
Oops, I knew I forgot something.
“I forgot to tell him I was leaving.” I chuckled and he laughed.
“Hey, Savannah. Thanks for telling me you left,” Kade said as he and Lily walked over to us
“Sorry, I was running late.” Thanks to Samuel.
School seemed to fly by especially, with no Amanda to bother us. I wondered where she was, but I didn’t care enough to ask.
“Hey, I’m going for a run,” I said.
“Okay, bye.” Lily waved.
“Hey Savannah, can I come with you?” Hannah asked. Where did she come from?
I glanced over at her and said, “Sure.” We walked home together. After I dropped my stuff off, we went into the woods. “Have you phased? Since your first time?”
“No.”
“Oh.” This might be harder than I thought. “It may hurt a bit, but it eventually the pain goes away.”
“Okay, I think I can,” she said. She started running. Sometimes running helps to speed up phasing. After a while of trying, she finally phased and a loud cracking sound echoed. That’s got to hurt.
She was a beautiful silver wolf.
“Good job,” I said smiling at her. “Now go pick up your clothes.” She nodded her large head and walked off.
While she was getting her clothes, I stripped and phased.
“Ready?” I asked her through our mind link.
“Yup, this is so cool. We can talk to each other through our minds. That is awesome,” she said her pitch high.
We have told her these things before, but it was different when you experience it rather than learning about it. Before people fully shift into a their wolf, they can’t communicate through the mind link.
“Follow me and keep up,” I said and she nodded.
I took off and kept a quick pace. She trailed behind before speeding up. When she was right behind me, I pushed myself a little harder and moments. Let’s see how fast you are, Hannah. I ran faster, causing her to quickly fall behind. No one was faster than me, yet.
“Wait up,” Hannah said.
“I am. Hurry.” A few minutes passed and she was standing in front of me panting.
“Were you testing me?”
“A little,” I said.
She let out a yawn before sayning, “I’m going home.”
“Lead the way.”
“Cool.”
I followed her as she led the way home. She got lost a couple of times.
“We need to work on your sense of direction.”
“I know.” She hung her head.
“Have you told mum and dad yet?”
“No.”
“Go tell them. They will be so excited and maybe they’ll start a training schedule too”
“Fine,” she said before she walked off with her torn clothes hanging in her mouth. She didn’t sound very excited. I was thrilled to be a wolf and start my training. It’s strange how different we were, sometimes I wondered if we were related.
I left her. Running through the woods again. Maybe this time I will be able to clear my head.
