Chapter Seven

“I love you” someone whispered in my ear. It tingled. His voice sent shivers down my spine “I love you too,” I mumbled as he kissed my cheek. “Don’t leave me,” I said. H.is warmth was gone. “I will be back.” “Don’t go,” I said raising my voice. “Sav get up,” Kade yelled. I groaned, sitting up. “Get up. School is starting soon,” Kade got suspended for two days for fighting over Lily. He said some guy flirted with her or something like that. “I’m awake,” I said. “Oh. Who did you not want to leave?” he asked, chuckling. “Out,” I yelled. that dream felt so real, it’s as if I can still smell him. I headed toward my bathroom to get ready for school. There was a necklace on the counter with a note attached to it. It read: Homemade remedy, should help with the mixed scents Love, Mum She had an answer for everything. I put the necklace on and finished getting ready. I skipped breakfast with dad and swiped a granola bar instead “Hey Sav and Kade. Man, I haven’t talked to you in forever,” Jason said. “You okay Sav? You look awful.” “Thanks. I had a bad night last night.” Tortured by a realistic dream, one that left me wanting more. “How’s Lily?” Jason asked. “Great.” He sighed before saying, “she will be meeting us at school later. She has a doctor’s appointment that, according to her mother, can’t be missed.” Unlike dad, mum loves Lily. She thinks she was an angel; my mum doesn’t freak out about the idea of humans and werewolves being together. Dad hates the fact that she wasn’t a wolf and there was a possibility, a slim possibility, that her and Kade’s future babies be wolves. Sometimes human and wolf children’s abilities stay dormant. “Have you claimed her yet?” He asked. “No, she’s not ready yet,” he said. Jason nodded. “Cool. You better hurry though before some guy steals her,” he said chuckling. “If you’re trying to be funny, it’s not working.” “Hold up. You told dad you did,” I said. Kade shrugged and said, “I lied. I was angry, and I knew it would bug him.” “He’s going to find out eventually.” “So? I’m sure by the time he sees her next she will be.” He smiled. “You better cheer up, Livington,” Jason said. He uses my last name when he really means something, as if it will change anything. “I’m fine. Just tired,” I said before heading off to class. In this class I was the unlucky one who was paired with Amanda. She doesn’t shut up. I tuned out her nagging, and everything else she does until class was over, all for the sake of my sanity. I checked the clock. I swear it’s been the same time for ten minutes. Right now I wish I had the power to control time. If I did this day would probably be over. Ring! I dashed out of class before Amanda penetrated my only defence against her. “Hey, Savannah,” Lily said. I turned around and saw her and Kade walking toward me. “Hey,” I said as she pulled me in for a hug. She’s a hugger, unlike me. “Kade told me what’s going on and I am for you one hundred percent.” She smiled. Kade was so dead. “Are you going to tell everyone,” I said narrowing my eyes at Kade. “Sorry, I can’t keep secrets from her,” he said raising his hands. “No one else, got it?” “Got it.” He nodded before glancing over his shoulder. Smiling, I quickly smacked the back of his head. “Oww. Jeez Savannah. I get your angry, but that was unnecessary” “No, it was necessary” Lily laughed. “Not funny,” Kade growled. “Don’t growl at me,” Lily said. A wolf with Alpha bloodline getting told off by a human, this only happens because were mates. “Sorry.” “It’s okay.” she pulled him down and kissed his cheek. “You missed,” he said smiling at her. “Barf, enough.” I grabbed Lily and pulled her behind me, since we were in the same class. “Where were you? I thought Kade was the only one suspended?” “He was.” “You skipped school?” I asked. “More like I was ‘sick’” she made air quotes. It wasn’t like Lily to skip school; she’s a bit of a nerd that way. “Evil, but smart,” I chuckled. Lily was one person who could always cheer me up. “Psst, Savannah,” Lily whispered. “Hmm,” I mumbled. “Wake up.” “What?” “Ow, Lily!” I shouted before covering my mouth. She kicked me, I can’t believe Lily kicked me. “Day, Livington. Enough! Do not make me speak to you again,” our teacher, Miss Cramp, said, he voice hard. She sounded like a smoker. I am so glad she didn’t give us detention. I looked at Lily, her eyes were wide. Wimp. She looked over me and I stuck my tongue out at her ,she was going to get it later. “I can’t believe you kicked me,” I said. Kade was waiting for her after class. The three of us walked to lunch together. “I said I was sorry.” I furrowed my brow at her and said, “No you didn’t.” “Oh, I’m sorry,” she smiled. “Whatever,” I said. The energy I had before left my body. I felt achy again. Yelling at her seemed to drain me. “Hey, Livington, I told you to cheer up,” Jason said, slinging his arm over my shoulder. I leaned into him stepped back. “Whoa.” Lily and Kade looked at us with brows up. “She leaned all her weight on me,” Jason said. “What weight? There’s nothing to her,” Kade said. I smack his arm. “He is right. You’re skinny,” Lily said chuckling. I smiled, still tired, but in a better mood. “Whatever. You’re supposed to be on my side.” “On whose side?” Amanda asked. “None of your business” I said glaring at her. I am done with this day. If it wasn’t for Samuel I wouldn’t be like this. It felt wrong to blame him for everything; maybe not everything was his fault. Everything was his fault, but I hated to blame him, even though it was his fault. School was over, Lily and Kade wanted alone time, Jason had to help his mum, and I decided to go for a run. I threw my stuff inside the house and ran for the woods. Once I was inside I stripped them off and phased into my snowy white wolf. I was already claimed, so I shouldn’t have any problems with that unless I stumble across a rogue that wasn’t Samuel. I kind of wanted to see Samuel, but I know I shouldn’t. I can’t develop feelings for him. One upside about being a wolf was I had the chance run and forget all my problems. Being alone in the woods, smelling all of the flowers, and seeing nature, I felt so at home. I picked up a familiar scent. It must be old, I ignored it and changed course and smelled yet another familiar smell. I couldn’t even have five seconds alone without him. A loud howl rippled through the air. Samuel? My chest tightened and my heart pounded. It was him, but why am I feeling like this? I changed course and headed toward the howl. Leaping over the tree trunk and I landed in front of my father. He glanced at me, eyes wide. I furrowed my brow before I walked around him. Samuel was pinned to the ground by David and Grant. No. Samuel, his eyes softened as he looked at me. A loud growl rippled through my chest. David and Grant both backed up slowly. Being Alpha’s daughter has its upsides. “Savannah, you shouldn’t be here” dad said through our mind link. “So I won’t see you kill him,” I growled. “It’s not what it looks like”. “It never is. You said you wouldn’t do anything until we talked. He is not your mate,” I barred my teeth. “You chose not to accept him and he made a mistake, he crossed into my territory.” “I haven’t never said that. I hadn’t decided. Don’t kill him.” My father’s large grey wolf form stepped closer to me, his eyes never leaving mine. “I am the Alpha. You follow what I decide. He is unclaimed, therefore, not a member of the pack. He will be treated as a threat.” I can’t just accept him. Could I? Technically he was still my mate. “He is still my mate.” He growled at me and said, “It’s not your choice anymore.” I growled back at him and said, “I accept him as my mate. He has already claimed me. He is part of this pack now,” What on earth did I just do? Dad’s eyes grew wide and he stepped back. Taking a deep breath a howl rippled through the air. His fate was decided. “Leave him be,” dad said. “This is not a decision to make lightly.” He paused, “Or on a whim.” “I know what I said.” Impulsive decisions were ones often regretted. I know part of me said that to spite dad and I can’t believe I said that. Dad nodded before he dashing into the woods. David and Grant followed him. I looked at Samuel. He stood and walked toward me. I shook my head and ran home. Was it too late to take it back? Once I arrived home I put the clothes I had left in the woods on my dirty clothes pile and took hopped in the shower. I can’t believe I said that. I wasn’t afraid of saying it. I was afraid of how true it felt. I don’t accept him, yet. I don’t even know him. Showering brought more pain that solutions. My head feels foggy. I changed into my pyjamas and flopped on my bed. Soon the pack will be informed. “Hey, Savannah I need to talk to you,” Hannah said. “Come in,” I said. “Hi,” she smiled at me as she crawled onto the bed next to me. “What’s up?” I asked. Hannah was the only one who didn’t know what was going on in my life. “Well. There is this guy at my school and I really like him. I think he likes me too,” she said. Guys. I hate guys. “Is he a wolf?” I asked. Maybe she’d be the most fortunate and be mated with a wolf. “Yeah he is.” She looked away from me. “Who is he?” “He is someone you may or may not know.” She shrugged. “Spill it,” I said yawning. “Jack Hallings,” she said quickly. “No way.” Jason’s little brother. “Yeah, he’s so sweet.” “Aww, you’re so cute.” “Savannah,” she said. “I wasn’t laughing or mocking.” She went on and on about how cute he was and what he said to her today. I remember my first crush and now she was having hers, how cute. She was the distraction I needed. Sometimes siblings were what you needed, sometimes.
