CHAPTER TWELVE It was fully dark by the time Stella and Maxwell pulled up outside the timber-fronted house in a quiet area of Stratford, with a neat front yard and immaculate board fencing separating its sizeable grounds from the neighbors. Stella hoped that Daniel would be inside, watching television or playing online games, and blissfully unaware of their arrival until it was too late.
