Chapter 15 going to get my money

1173 Words
Cheyenne’s P.O.V   The next morning Mercury woke up earlier than usual, which made me suspicious. He got out of bed, took his shower, dried off and then came back into the bedroom. He pulled out his clothes and I noticed that they were all black, which could only mean one thing, he was going out for a collection. He wore his black button up shirt, his black jeans and his black boots.   “Collection?” I asked and he nodded.   “Yeah, but I won't be long.” Mercury replied, taking his gun out of the safe and putting it in the holster around his shoulders. We went down to the kitchen where I saw that my dad, Kenny, William and Anna were in the kitchen. Mercury kissed both Anna and I on the cheeks, before leaving with my dad and William. Anna and I walked with them out to the car and I watched as they all got in.   “Be careful, no more sirens.” Mercury said, making both Anna and I roll our eyes as we nodded. They drove off and I turned to look at Anna, who just like me was used to this.   “Well, we have around ten hours until he gets back, even though he said he wouldn't be long. He doesn't like it when people owe him money and don't think they have to pay him back.” I said and Anna nodded.   “Yeah, I know. I’m going to relax by the pool, what are you going to do while they’re gone?” Anna asked and I thought for a moment, trying to decide.   “I think I’m going to just relax in a tub of hot water, I haven't done that in a long time. You go relax by the pool, I’m going to take a long hot bath.” I replied, as we headed back inside the pack house. Anna went up to her room to get changed into her bikini, while I went back to my room and started on my bath.   Mercury’s P.O.V   When we drove off I felt a little uneasy. I couldn't get the argument I had with Cheyenne and the vigorous love making afterwards out of my head. I don't like arguing with her, but it scares me when she goes off and does crazy things like that. I still remember the day it all happened like it was yesterday and it still scared the s**t out of me that it could happen again. I felt Cheyenne as she was hurt, I felt her pain and the fear she felt when Anna was taken and when I found her she was half dead, burnt really badly and Anna was missing. I never want to feel that again, I never want to have to go through that again, but most of all I want to protect Anna and Cheyenne so that they never have to feel and experience that again. This is the reason why I just wanted to go, get my money and get back home as soon as possible. We passed by buildings and even a place called Popeyes, which is where we turned left and went down a road called Harsh road, which was a perfect name for the way it looked, but as we went further down I heard dogs barking and saw kids playing and riding their bikes. We turned down another road called Walnut street and then drove a further two blocks before stopping and now it was time to wait. We sat there for a few minutes, watching our surroundings and then I gave Hawk the go ahead. He got out of the car and went to the light blue house, knocking on the door. A few minutes later someone answered the door and Hawk quickly grabbed him by the throat, taking him back into the house and waving to us. It was now time for us to go inside and get this sorted. William, Kenny and I got out of the car and hurried over to go inside. Once we got there I saw that the man had a broken and scared look on his face, like an ‘I’m busted’ look. I walked into the living room and sat down on a chair, when Hawk came and forced the man into the chair in front of me.   “Colby, we have a slight problem. I don't recall you calling me or coming to me with your p*****t. I loaned you over ninety thousand dollars and you said you would pay me back, but it's been two years, man and I haven't gotten a single p*****t from you, so what do you have to say for yourself?” I said, keeping my voice calm and normal as I leaned back in the chair.   “I….I...gambled all the money away, but I still have some of it. I have a thousand left and I was going to invest it, hoping I’ll gain more….money.” Colby replied, gulping and I could smell the fear coming off him in waves. I sighed and shook my head, getting up from my chair and walking around him.   “So, you tell me that in two years you gambled away all that money, but you saved a thousand and yet you didn't make any attempt to call me and tell me. Do you see what I am getting at here, Colby?” I asked and watched as he slowly and shakily nodded his head.   “So, if you do then tell me what am I getting at?” I asked, sitting back in my chair and making him gulp again as the sweat began to form on his forehead.   “You're getting at that if I had that amount then why didn't I contact you sooner and I’m sorry, sir, I...I should have, but p….please give me more time, that's all I….I ask.” Colby nervously replied, but there was something fishy about all of this. I stood up from my chair again and took a look around, seeing a few new items dotted around the room.   “Go into the kitchen and look in the usual places, look in the cookie jars, look in the freezer and fridge. I want you to see if you can find anything and if you do then bring it back out here. He has too many new items to be as flat broke as he claims to be.” I said, mind-linking Hawk. He nodded as William took his place and stood in the doorway and Hawk walked into the kitchen. We could hear glass breaking and the freezer door opening, which made the smell of fear coming off Colby increase even more. He was scared because he knew that he was busted and I knew that he was lying all along.
