Cheyenne’s P.O.V

  I looked at Mercury stunned. He hasn't spoken to me like this in years, since we first met. I didn't stand for it then and I refuse to stand for it now. Who the f**k does he think he is, telling me what to do and using his Alpha tone on me?!

  “NO! YOU LISTEN! I AM THE QUEEN OF THE MAFIA!! DO NOT EVER TALK TO ME LIKE THAT EVER AGAIN!! I DID WHAT I DID BECAUSE I COULD AND I DID!! THE THING IS DEAD AND THERE IS NO MORE THREAT!! SO GET THE f**k OVER IT!!” I shouted, pushing him away from me. How dare he try to treat me this way, we are meant to be equals in this, not him in charge and me following behind him like some lost little puppy.

  “YOU WILL NOT DO WHAT YOU WANT!! NOT IN THIS HOUSE!!!” Mercury shouted back at me, shocking me and pissing me off even more.

  “WHO THE f**k DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!! WE ARE MATES! EQUALS! STOP TRYING TO f*****g CONTROL ME!!!” I shouted back, making his face drop when he heard me.

  “DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND?! YOU COULD HAVE DIED!! I COULD HAVE LOST YOU ALL OVER AGAIN!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO HAVE THE PERSON YOU LOVE MOST IN THE WORLD BE MINUTES FROM DEATH?!!!!” Mercury shouted, making me stop in my tracks.

  “What do you mean all over again? What do you mean by minutes? What are you talking about? I wasn't in any danger out there, I had Anna with me. We’re not weak and we killed her before she even laid a finger on either of us.” I asked, not shouting anymore.

  “Cheyenne, when your SUV was hit, they took Anna and set you on fire, remember? Well, when I got there you were barely alive, I had literally minutes to get you to the pack hospital before I lost you forever and then each time you had one of those ice baths you almost died from the shock to your system. It was hell to see you like that and feel the bond between us getting weaker. I could feel you dying and it was killing me, I can't go through that again. I know I am being an overprotective ass, but I can't lose you or Anna. Do you think I could survive if anything happened to you, to Anna? Do you think I could ever live without you? You are my whole world, Cheyenne and without you there is no me.” Mercury replied, walking towards me and lifting my chin so that I was now looking into his eyes. I saw the tears threatening to fall from his eyes, I felt how scared he was about losing us and I also felt the heartbreak he was feeling as he remembered that day through the mate bond. He wasn't trying to be dominant with me or trying to control me, he was scared to death of losing me. Mercury rested his forehead against mine, showing me exactly what happened that day when he found me and all the events after that, just like how Faith had done with him when he was under that spell. I could feel every emotion he felt and it broke my heart that he had to go through that. My arms went around his neck, pulling him closer to me and holding him tightly against me.

  “I’m sorry, I never knew.” I said and softly kissed his lips. I held him as tightly as I could, feeling the both of us calm down as we held each other.

  “I honestly didn't think you felt that strongly and I had no idea that I was minutes away from death. I didn't mean to scare you, I didn't mean to make you angry by forcing you to relive that.” I said, as he rested his forehead against mine, so that we were nose to nose.

  “Cheyenne, before you I didn't care about anything else except rising to the top, but when you came into my life everything changed. I know I’m overprotective, but oh well that's life, I have every reason to be protective. I love you, Cheyenne.” Mercury replied, kissing me. Our kiss started off slow and sweet, but I needed more. He had told me how he felt and now I wanted to show him how I felt. I wanted to show him just how much I truly loved him. I pulled him closer, running my fingers through his hair and tugging on it as I deepened our kiss, making it more passionate. Mercury reached behind me, locking the door to the office as he began to unbutton and unzip my trousers with his free hand. I let them drop to my feet as I stepped out of them. He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist, not once breaking our kiss.

  “Mercury, let's go to our bedroom, I think your desk could use a time out before we break it.” I said, breaking our kiss and pulling away from him slightly. He looked back at his desk and smirked as he remembered all the times we had made love on it and chuckled. 

  “Yeah, I think you're right, plus, I don't want anyone knocking and bothering us again.” Mercury replied as he unlocked the door. I was still in Mercury’s hold with my legs wrapped around him as he poked his head out of the door and looked all over, before running out of the office and upstairs to our bedroom. Mercury closed the door behind us and quickly locked it then took me over to the chair and sat me down, opening my legs.

  “I love that view.” Mercury said, smiling as he stood back. 

  “I bet you would love it even more if I did this.” I said, getting up and sitting him in the chair. I began to do a sexy dance for him, swaying my hips and ass for him.   This woman was incredible, the way she moved, the shape of her body and she was all mine as I was all hers. I knew I overstepped the line earlier, but I was just so scared of losing her that I overreacted and nearly drove her away, but I won't make that mistake again.   How the f**k could she be so stupid? What was wrong with that siren, she was calling the wrong f*****g wolf. I was trying to get Mercury and she went after his Luna, what f*****g good is that to me? I want his pack, I want his daughter and I want his house. As soon as I get him out of the picture I’ll have everything and more. She will be by my side and I will rule over everything, but in order to get that I need to get his daughter, then I can get him out of the way.
