Anna’s P.O.V
The weekend came and went really fast, but all I did was study and spend time with William while I did so. I didn't want to forget anything I had learned, so William gave me little quizzes, helping me out. It was now Monday morning and the day of my finals, which made me feel so nervous that I felt sick to my stomach. My mom and dad were encouraging me every step of the way and had even made a special breakfast for me to help ease my unsettled stomach. Goldie came by and wished me luck, but the person that really helped ease my nerves was William.
“Honey, we all know that you can do this, just have faith in yourself because I do. You got plenty of rest last night, you had a good breakfast, so you're ready. Go get 'em, honey.” William said, hugging me and calming me down. I nodded and kissed his cheek before hurrying out the door and to my car. I drove to college and when I got there I went straight to my first class, as my teacher Mr. Sheamus nodded at me as I sat down. I took out my pen and laid my hand on the test as the teacher handed them out, laying them upside down on our desks. I took a deep breath as the teacher cleared his throat ready to speak.
“Okay ladies and gentlemen, for all of you to become doctors or nurses you need to finish the finals laid out for you today. All your results from this class and all of your other classes will be pinned up on the noticeboard at the end of the day. I would just like to say before you start the test that I am very proud of each and every one of you for sticking with it and staying in this class, even though I challenged you at times, you stuck with it and stayed true to yourselves. Now, all of the questions are in the test booklets that I have just handed out. You have one hour to finish the test and when you are done I want you to come to the front and place your test on my desk, then you can leave to go to your next class for your next finals exam. Right, all heads forward and no cheating or you will instantly fail, the test starts….now.” Mr Sheamus announced, starting the timer for the exam. I opened my booklet, not focusing on anything else around me and began my test. It took me almost the whole hour before I had finally finished and when I stood up to hand my test in, two other students stood up as well. We placed our tests on the teachers desk and quietly left the class room to go to the next classroom. We took our seats and waited for the others to come in, the teacher to hand our tests out and then make the same announcement as the teacher before. The teacher Mrs. Watts was a really sweet teacher, but when it came to the finals she was all business.
“You have an hour and half to complete your exams and after you are done, please place the test on my desk and then quietly head to the next classroom. Face forwards at all times and no cheating. Your time starts….now.” Mrs Watts announced, looking at her watch before starting the timer. This test was a lot harder than the one before and it was also a lot longer, but after I was done I stood up and placed my test on the desk, then quietly left. It was like this all day and I was completely exhausted, both mentally and physically, but I was finally done. It was finally the end of the day and I was in the cafeteria with all the others, waiting for the moment we would all find out what our results were, when suddenly there was an announcement over the intercom.
“Attention all students that have taken their finals today. I’m sorry to say but due to so many students taking their finals, everyone will get their results through the mail in two days. Please enjoy the rest of your day and we wish all of you the best of luck. Thank you.” Mr. Sheamus announced, making all of us groan. I sighed as I grabbed my bag and left with everyone else to head home. I walked to my car and drove the whole ten minute drive feeling disappointed, but when I got home my parents and William were waiting for me with baited breath.
“Well….. What were your grades? Did you do it? Do you get to graduate?” My mom excitedly asked, making me feel even more disappointed with the fact that I didn't have any answers for them.
“I sat my exams and I think I did okay, but when everyone was waiting they announced that we will get our grades through the mail in two days, so I have to wait until then to find out.” I replied, feeling annoyed and everyone sighed.
“Well that sucks. I know that you studied hard, honey, so hold your head up high and hope for the best.” My mom said and everyone nodded. William walked up to me and wrapped his arms around me, rubbing my back and kissing my forehead.
“Don't worry, you know you rocked those finals. I believe in you, baby.” William whispered and it meant so much to me. William always knew just what to say and do to make me feel better, but knowing that he believed in me meant the world to me.
“Thank you.” I replied, hugging him tighter. Now all I would have to do was be patient and wait the two days. It couldn't be that hard, could it? Oh who was I kidding, this was going to be complete and utter torture, but I would have to bear with it. I just really hoped I passed.
