Anna’s P.O.V
The two days went by agonisingly slowly, so much so that I was climbing the walls as we all waited to find out what my grades would be and if I would be able to graduate. I tried to keep myself busy by training with the rest of the pack and helping my mom around the house, but nothing worked to take my mind off it. It was now Thursday and my dad had received a call to say that we had received mail and it was waiting for us to collect. We had to go to the post office because we couldn't get our mail delivered to the middle of the woods, so I quickly hurried there and picked up the mail. I anxiously waited in the car, holding the envelope in my hands as my mom drove us back to the pack house. When we got back my dad, William, Goldie, Trevor and my grandparents Hawk and Faith were all waiting in the living room for me.
“Listen, if I don't make it then I’ll just go back and do it again. I’m not going to give up.” I said, standing in the middle of the living room. Now that I had the results in my hand I was even more nervous than before. What if I didn't pass? What if I wasn't able to graduate? I carefully opened the envelope and took the letter out, reading every single word of it. My eyes went huge when I read the words I had been praying to read and I started smiling from ear to ear as I started jumping up and down, squealing like a teenager.
“I DID IT!! I DID IT!! I GET TO GRADUATE!!!!” I happily screamed and my mom and dad were so happy that they all jumped up and hugged me.
“Oh my Goddess, honey, we are so proud of you. We knew you could do it.” My mom said, pulling back from the hug and kissing my forehead.
“That's my girl. I knew you could do it, I had faith in you, baby.” William said as he picked me up and spun me around. When he finally put me down I continued to read the rest of the letter, with William and my mom reading over my shoulder.
“It says I need to get a cap and gown and that my graduation is in two weeks.” I said and my mom smiled widely at me.
“I still have my cap and gown from when I went to your college and graduated, so if you want you can wear them.” My mom replied, making me jump for joy.
“Really mom? I would love to wear them, no, I would be honoured to wear them.” I said, hugging her tightly. I ran over and hugged my dad, who until now was just standing there for some reason.
Cheyenne’s P.O.V
Mercury and I were so happy for Anna, but I also knew that Mercury was a little sad too. His only child, his daughter, was growing up and he didn't like the thought of letting her. If he had his way he would keep her here as his baby girl for the rest of his life, but she had to grow up.
“Mercury, it's okay for you to be sad, but this is a happy thing, it's a good thing.” I said, mind-linking him and saw him quickly nod and smile.
“Yeah I know and I am so proud of her. I think I’m just struggling a little with the fact that she is growing up. I mean she already has a mate and is now going to graduate from college, it's all just happening so fast. I remember when she was running around in my office and sitting on my lap as I worked on my computer. Where did all the time go?” Mercury asked, making me feel warm inside.
“I know what you mean, she has grown up so fast, but she will always be your little girl.” I said and he quickly nodded.
“Of course she will, nothing will ever change that.” Mercury replied, smiling. I watched as Mercury hugged Anna, holding onto her for a little longer.
“Listen honey, I am so proud of you and I know that you have been wanting your own place, so how about after you graduate I’ll have the builders build you and William your own house. You have worked hard and I’m really proud of you and I also want you to know that I love you.” Mercury said and Anna smiled from ear to ear when she heard him.
“I love you too, daddy. Thank you so much.” Anna said, hugging her father again, but then Mercury had a really strange look come across her face.
“But your house will be right next to ours, so that if you ever need us then I can be right there.” Mercury said, making all of us laugh. All this excitement was overwhelming and caused me to have a huge headache, so I started rubbing my temples to try and ease it up. I excused myself to the bathroom and splashed some water over my face. I had been having a headache on and off for a few weeks now and felt like I could hear something out in the woods, calling to me. I went out there a few times, but each time I found absolutely nothing. I felt like I was going crazy, but was I really? This felt different, like a song on repeat in my head. A siren had called Anna last year, so maybe that was what this was, a siren playing with my head or something. I had to find out one way or another, so I will go out into the woods again tomorrow and if I can't find anything this time then I am going to go to see Doctor Cloud, maybe he will know what's wrong with me.
