Chapter 17 can I marry your daughter

William’s P.O.V

  “Goddess William, whatever it is, just come right out and say it. I can smell your fear, so what's going on? Why are you so scared to talk to me?” Mercury asked, interrupting my thoughts. I felt myself getting even more nervous and worried. What if he said no? No, I couldn't think like that, this is my time and I had to be brave and ask him.

  “Well, Mr. Mercury, boss, er….your daughter and I have been together for almost six years now and well, I want to ask you if you would give me your blessing to ask Anna for her hand in marriage.” I asked, taking a deep breath and holding it in while I waited for his reply. Mercury eyed me up as I remembered the gun he had in his holster and I was sure that any second now he was going to shoot me between the eyes, so I sat here in the back of the SUV with him, waiting for the worst possible outcome.

  “For starters, you have never called me boss or Mr. Mercury, so please don't start now or not only would Cheyenne have my head, but so would Anna. you are a part of this family, just like Hawk and you don't hear him calling me boss, do you?” Mercury replied, looking seriously at me.

  “Hey, I have to call you boss.” Kenny replied from the front, making Mercury roll his eyes as I laughed.

  “One only when we are doing collections and two how many times have I told you not to. If I have to give you an Alpha command to make you stop doing it then I will, that way you won’t forget. Hawk, Kenny, Trevor and yourself are a part of my family and I wont have you treated any other way.” Mercury said, turning to face me.

  “That and the fact that I don't want a bunch of angry women on my ass, especially Goldie and Cheyenne, they have incredible right hooks and trust me I have been at the wrong end of them enough times.” Mercury said, making Hawk laugh and I knew he was remembering each time both women punched him. I had never seen it, but I had heard from Hawk about it and he always laughed when he told me.

  “And when are you going to ask her this?” Mercury asked, making me quickly exhale. Was he just trying to mess with me or was he just building up to the shooting me part?

  “Right after she graduates, I want you, Luna Cheyenene and Hawk to be there.” I replied and Mercury nodded, making me feel even more nervous.

  Mercury’s P.O.V

  “You do know that’s actually tomorrow night, right? So you have the ring? Do you know how you're going to ask her? What are your plans?” I asked, making William work for this. I knew right away I was going to say yes, but I wanted to give him a hard time before I did.

  “Yes, yes and yes. My plan is to take care of your daughter because I know you would kill me if I f****d up.” William replied and I nodded, keeping my face straight. He was right and smart for thinking that because I would.

  “Yes, I would definitely kill you if you f****d up and I know you never will on purpose because of that very reason, so….” I said, making him wait a little longer before I gave him my answer. I held my hand out to him and watched as he warily took it. 

  “Yeah, you have my permission and my blessing to ask her.” I said, shaking his hand. William smiled brightly at me and breathed a sigh of relief, making me chuckle. We finally got back to the pack house and got out of the car, walking inside. I went to my office and put the bag of money down on my desk, before splitting it between the four of us. I decided to give William a little extra, seeing as I had messed with him so much and he was going to be getting married soon, so I took some of the money from my pile and added it to William’s. I gave Hawk, Kenny and William their share of the money and then put my share in the safe behind the picture on the wall. I was so tired, it had been a really long day and although I originally planned and told Cheyenne that I wouldn't be long, it had taken most of the day and was now night time. Tomorrow was going to be a long day as well, with Anna’s graduation, William’s proposal and the party afterwards as well, which would turn into a double party if Anna said yes. I had no doubt that she would say yes to him because she was so in love with him as he was her and the more I saw them together the more I realised how perfect they were for each other. I rushed upstairs to our bedroom and quickly got undressed, going into the bathroom to shower. I dried off and got in bed next to Cheyenne who was already sleeping peacefully or so I thought.

  “So was that your idea of not being too long?” Cheyenne asked, sleepily.

  “Sorry, love. It took longer than I thought it would, but we got all the money and more.” I replied, wrapping my arm around her and pulling her closer to me.

  “Go back to sleep, we have a long day tomorrow and it's going to be very busy and full of emotions, trust me.” I said, kissing her cheek. She hummed in response, not once opening her eyes or looking at me and I couldn't help wondering what her reaction was going to be tomorrow when she saw what William had planned. I knew she would be happy, but would she kill me for knowing before her, I thought and chuckled a bit as I shook it off. I laid down in the bed, snuggling up to my mate and fell right to sleep, thinking about everything tomorrow was going to bring.
