Farrell's POV
I see her through a crack in the silver gate. Because I caught the scent of her. And she quickly turns around, talking to someone else. A guy. Who looks like her beta. And also someone who looks like he loves Aylee. It's evident in his eyes, I'm not sure if she knows about it already.
Aylee turns around and I look at her, her eyes meeting mine for a brief moment.
"We can order our forces to take these walls down. It would be a piece of cake," Sebastian whispers but I shake my head.
I don't want to fight already. If I start fighting, then it's either I'll have to kill her or I'll have to make her kneel down before me with all the pride leaving her. I don't know if I am ready for either of those options.
A portion of gates that's straight in front of me are being lowered, and my heart is racing. This is it. I am going to see her. I have only seen her through a portrait and through the cracks of the silver gates.
My wolf is going crazy inside. I can hear his howls and roars as we finally see her.
Pictures don't do justice because she is literally a walking Goddess. Her eyes move so powerful as she scans my army, her mind probably already forming a tactic since she is in charge of a small army. And she has to have a few tricks up her sleeve.
As her eyes land on me, I see something in them. A flicker of something. If I didn't know it, I would have thought it was lust. Because for a moment she scanned my body and then stared at Sebastian behind me. All this while she was walking forward and stopping a few feet away from me.
I see only two people. Aylee and her beta. But I am picking up three different scents from that end. I hope it's from her beta who probably has a mate.
"Hello, Alpha Farrell," she says and my heart does a flip flop!
All she did was say hello to me. But in my mind, those words sound like she is saying "I do" during our wedding ceremony.
"Hello, Alpha Aylee," I smile at her.
Sebastian noticed the slight change in my voice because I feel his gaze on me even though I don't see him.
"To what do I owe this pleasure?" She asks me, smirking and I absolutely love the game she is playing.
"It's either you surrender or we will make you," Sebastian comes straight to the point. Even though I want to scream at him, I don't think I should right now. Because I am standing before my army. The army who's been fighting relentlessly just for me.
"And how would you exactly make me surrender?" She asks again, and her beta is scanning the crowd in a very typical way.
Or maybe that's their tactic. One should engage the other in a conversation while they come to a conclusion on what needs to be done, after checking the army out.
I turn around to look at Sebastian. We are both on our horses. And so are a few people behind me. To the standing row, Sebastian ordered them to take down the silver gates to which they bowed to the order and moved forward.
As they were moving forward, I noticed them sliding gloves over their hands. I look at Aylee but she is not even moving an inch. Instead both her and her beta looks like they are enjoying the scene.
They carefully placed each hand on the gate and instantly screamed in pain. I watched them let go of the gate, and move backwards as they cried louder and louder.
"Ooops. It totally slipped my mind but I originally planned on telling you," Aylee says dramatically as she looks at Sebastian this time,"there's a layer of raw wolfsbane mixed with a secret potion by our pack's witch to burn anything that lands on the walls,"
I smile a little but quickly keep a straight face. I don't want others to know I'm impressed. Both with her acting skills and her mind game.
Now I guess this is the only pack and only Alpha who is ever going to give me a tough competition.
"Is there anything you want me to know, Alpha Farrell?" She asks me again, and I see her eyes flicker again. An emotion I don't know. I might be lust but it might not be lust as well. I am not sure.
"No. If there is something we'll let you know," I tell her and she nods.
"This is my Beta, Rowan. If you need anything just ask for him," she smiles and I narrow my eyes.
"Alpha to Alpha. Why can't I ask you?" I ask her back.
"Because unlike you, I have a pack to run instead of parading," she says and turns around walking inside to her pack.
I hear Sebastian's angry grunt and it's a good thing everyone is behind me. Because I have a stupid smile on my face.
This girl is really going to give me a tough competition. And I am all in for the game.
