Chapter 23

702 Words
Aylee's POV I let out the breath I was holding in. I functioned properly with great difficulty. Because with him before me, my mind couldn't work properly. All I could possibly think of was how effortlessly he has an effect on me. He smirked here and there and didn't even initiate a civilized conversation and yet, I was thinking about how it would feel like kissing him. "Are you alright?" Rowan asked me as soon as we reached inside and all I could do was nod. "Man! He is so intimidating. I barely kept my s**t together and if I were in your place I would be bowing to him already," Rowan tells me as he wipes a bead of sweat on his forehead. That, I agree. He is indeed intimidating. And he is so f*****g handsome. Not the way that I see Colton, but Farrell is actually good looking. It was hard for me to focus on anything else. "So what do you think?" I ask Rowan, asking my soldiers to stand down for now. We still got time until they figured out how to get the walls down. Especially when two of their people are injured after just touching the walls. "Their army is five times bigger than us. And they all look well trained," Rowan says. That's what I observed too. It's not like my army isn't trained, but they somehow look buffer. "But we can play with our minds. Like we did earlier," I say and he nods. There is no secret potion. We just lathered a layer of raw wolfsbane. And then added an additional layer of diluted wolfsbane that's heated to a certain temperature that would burn the gloves. So once the hot wolfsbane burnt their gloves, the raw wolfsbane layer got to their skin and the rest is history. Oh yeah. We mask their scents with herbs. There is absolutely no one we call a pack witch. My pack is very small. What does one expect? Through the corner of my eye I see my father rushing towards us. He probably got the information already. That Alpha Farrell is here outside our borders, camping and waiting for a chance to shoot his shot and walk through my borders. "Is he already here?" My father asks and Rowan answers just by nodding. "Trust me and believe me when I say this as an Alpha. Surrender before he burns us all down to the ground and creates his empire over our ashes!" He says and at this point I really cannot believe that he is my father. "How many times do I have to tell you? You are the former Alpha.! The Moon Set Pack has only one Alpha now. And that is me. Alpha Aylee. So all your advice is unwelcomed. Kindly stay at the safe house if you don't want to participate," I say and start walking in a random direction. I don't have anywhere else to be. But I only know that I need to get far away from that man. But I am tempted to see what Alpha Farrell is doing. So just a few feet away from where Rowan and my father are having a heated argument, I gather bricks and place them in the form of a small platform where a single person can stand. And I raise my tiptoes to see Alpha Farrell casually laughing as he is talking to his beta. He looks like a normal person to me, especially now that he is actually smiling. But I don't know what gave it away. His head quickly whips towards my direction and his eyes meet mine. I know I should duck down and walk away like nothing happened. But I still don't know why I am shamelessly standing here and watching him make his own tent for the night. He smiles at me but I don't smile back. I can feel my heart thumping inside my chest. I should move. I should move. I should f*****g move even if it's an inch. Alpha Farrell then winks at me, and that was all it needed for me to fall down the brick platform because of imbalance. Now talk about embarrassment!
