Chapter 7

914 Words
Farrell's POV I signed off all the documents that needed access through the borders for tonight. So far only six pack's Alphas have arrived out of twenty two packs in the entire continent. But that's a good start and I'd like to take that. There is a knock on the door of my study and I yell for the guard to come in. They probably came in with a report. But I whipped my head up when I noticed an Alpha presence. I see Alpha Louis of The Gray Moon Pack. I smile at him as he walks to me and takes a seat right in front of me. "Good afternoon, Alpha Louis. I hope you are enjoying your stay" I say, maintaining a smile on my face and he gives a brief nod. "I am, actually. My son has taken a liking for your valley view. He says we should build something like that behind our home too," Alpha Louis says, making me chuckle. "How old is he?" I ask him again, making a mental note asking Meghan to paint the picture of the valley so I can gift him before he returns home. "Four. And he is to wed the daughter of our pack's warriors," he says. Okay. Now that is a little odd. "How do you know if they are mates?" I ask Alpha Louis. "They may not be. But that's who I choose. Being the heir to the strongest and largest werewolf pack leaves you with no freedom to choose people you surround yourself with," he tells me again. But it's still odd. "Anyways. Have you found your mate, Alpha Farrell?" He asks me again. "Just call me Farrell. And you are asking a person who hasn't seen anything beyond the borders for eighteen years. I didn't find my mate," I told him, which made him give another brief nod with a smile of his own. "Let's take a walk to the valley, shall we?" I ask him and he accepts my offer as he stands up and follows me out. I show him the lands where our farmers are working. Since we locked our borders, we produce as much as we possibly can when it concerns food. "Apricots are in season and ready for harvest," I tell him and he nods again, watching everything with a fascination on his face. "You have your fresh produce. But what about other things?" Alpha Louis asks me again. "Spices and meat, we get supplies from the outside world. We have a group designed for it. They walk out once every month and return in two days, with the gates still up. They trade with other markets a little far from here so they wouldn't be caught traveling back here. My pack or I don't really have a great reputation you see," I explained to him and he looked a little zoned out. "Then what about whores?" He asks me, making me choke on my own saliva. I never talked to someone who openly asked me this question. Of course I know who the whores are because of Sebastian. He often seeks comfort in particularly one w***e that he came across on his sixteenth birthday. He is too young for that, but he went for it anyway. "We do have a w***e house, by the way. Run by she wolves who lost their mates and a few just because they are lusty," I tell him and he nods. I bet he is going to check that out if I give him the address. The Nightfall Pack is not really vast but large enough to accommodate everything. In the eighteen years of isolation people had very little to do in their time, so s*x was what they did the most. The population increased a lot to a point my mother had to pass a law that there will be additional taxes for every child born after three siblings. As much as my people were addicted to s*x, they weren't really too rich and taxes were a horrible thing for them. So they settled for having three kids and no more. "Have you invited Alpha Aylee too? She wouldn't usually come out of her pack but people are expecting to see her," Alpha Louis tells me and that threw me into surprise. "Alpha Aylee? As in.. a female Alpha?" I ask him and he nods. "Don't you know?" He asks me again. "No. My beta Sebastian sent out all the invitations for the party. I wasn't aware there were female Alphas," I told him as we finally reached the valley view point. "Not Alphas. Only one. Alpha Aylee of The Moon Set Pack. A small but tough one. If her father had a male heir, he would have sold Aylee to a w***e house already," Alpha Louis says. The more I am in his company, the more I am starting to feel a little awkward. But Thank God for his Beta who came and asked his presence for something about his son. So Alpha Louis took leave and walked away. Are all the Alphas like this? People who have this depressing level of male ego? Or am I soft because I didn't have a father teaching me this stuff? Alpha Aylee. The only female Alpha. That actually sounds quite refreshing to hear. It would be nice if she came. I want to witness how she is going to mingle with a crowd of only men.
