Farrell's POV
By the time I woke up, the sun was already up. It's broad daylight and considering this is summer, I think it's still morning but feels like noon somehow.
I quickly take a shower and walk downstairs. Sebastian is already reporting to my mom about the details of today's party that we are hosting.
"Good morning, my lovely people" I greet and Sebastian smiles at me just a little and I guess my mom publicly expressed her distaste for whatever I am doing, right before I came.
"Has anyone arrived yet?" I ask Sebastian in full hopes.
"No," he says and my smile falters a little.
All I want to do is make friends. And I invited all the Alphas with no discrimination between young or old, large packs or a small one.
"There's still hours left. Let's see," Meghan says, walking out of her room freshly showered.
Yes, she lives with us. Like I said, she doesn't have anyone so mom took her under her wing. They both are close to each other more than I am close to my mom.
"Good morning," Meghan greets mom as she sits beside her and places a kiss on her cheek.
"Oh Good Morning, love" mom greets Meg back and I stand there, scoffing.
I don't say anything as one of the maids brings us coffee. I then grant her leave for today and ask her to be there for the party at the early hour so she can enjoy. She went home beaming.
"You were so grumpy all these years and now that the gates are down, you are enjoying yourself aren't you?" Meg asks me to which I just shrug.
I quickly gulped down the coffee I had in my cup and walked out with Sebastian. Sebastian is still seventeen and he will get his wolf in two weeks from now.
He is not just my beta but my cousin as well. My mom was Beta's daughter. After she married my dad who's an Alpha, my mom's brother James took the role of Beta. Sebastian is James's son making him my cousin.
It is normal for girls to take up Beta or Gamma roles in the werewolf world. But the world hasn't witnessed a Female Alpha. I remember mom telling me that for centuries the role of an Alpha was viewed as a male job and no one questioned. Sometimes I wonder why.
"So, what if you find your mate?" I ask Sebastian to which he just laughs.
"I am a Beta. The highest rank I would imagine my mate to be is a warrior. Maybe a girl from the farmer's family. I don't know," he shakes his head,"and the party is for Alphas and Betas,"
Oh well. That point didn't cross my mind. I am doing this to find my mate but I forgot that an Alpha or a Beta cannot be my mate. It only happened once in the history and that's my mom and dad.
I don't think the world is ready for another one, just yet.
"Alpha! Beta!!," One of the borderline guards bows to Sebastian and I before giving us the news. The news that brought a wide smile to my face.
"The Alpha of The Gray Moon Pack is here with his son and Beta," he tells me.
"The Gray Moon Pack is one of the strongest packs. It will be a great alliance," Sebastian tells me as we both start walking towards the borders to welcome them ourselves.
I thought no one would show up. But it is a great thing that someone actually did. All these years of freedom that I have lost just because of the power in me even I don't know about, I think it's finally time to end it and put that all behind.
I smiled when I saw three horses and a carriage. The guards are mounted on the horses while the Alpha and his son are in the carriage. And I guess one of these men is Beta.
Before I welcomed them, I also spotted guests from another pack too.
My heart is jumping with joy.
"I wish I could say the same," my wolf says and once again expresses his gut feeling.
I think it's all going well. All Alphas at one place. What could possibly go wrong?
