Aylee's POV
"Well, Pardon me Alpha. I might have acted out of my place with my suggestion," Colton says and I groan.
"Will you please stop with this? I am already in a really bad mood," I tell him but he doesn't say anything.
Ever since I asked him to prepare the horses and the carriage so we could attend Alpha Farrell's party, he had been sulking. All because he suggested that I not go but I decided that I will go.
We took a break to let our horses rest for a bit. It is a three hour ride from here to Alpha Farrell's pack. The Nightfall Pack. The pack that most of the werewolves didn't see because it was shut for a decade and half.
The sun is about to set and if my guess is right, then we would arrive at The Nightfall Pack just in time for the party.
"I didn't want to stay there. Liza is arriving," I tell him and his head whips towards me.
"What? I thought we made our point clear the last time," he says, taking a step closer to me.
"Yeah we did. I personally told her that I will not hesitate in taking back the lands my father granted her when he was the Alpha. But she still thinks she can whisper in my father's ears and get things her way. A b***h with no self respect," I almost screamed in the last sentence.
"Oh My Goodness I didn't know that. You should have told me earlier. I'm sorry I judged your decision a bit too quick," Colton whispered as he moved closer to me.
He closed the gap between us as he held my face with his hands and kissed me tenderly. But he quickly lets go since we have three more guards with us. They are with the horses while Colton and I are at the lake we stopped. The horses had enough water and rest.
So we started our journey back to the Nightfall Pack again.
And just as predicted we reached just in time for the party to start. There is a girl who is greeting all the other Alphas. She doesn't look like a werewolf but all the Alphas are so enchanted by her.
To be honest she looks drop dead gorgeous. Her strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes makes her look so fierce yet gentle. The way she is laughing and walking in between the guests is so.. charming. So elegant.
"I have heard that she is the witch who kept this pack safe for a few years now," Colton whispers in my ear.
I see.
"Alpha Aylee," I hear that one voice I am dying to avoid.
"Alpha Louis," I smile at him even though I just want to punch him and wipe that smirk off his face.
"It's been a while and you look like a woman now," he says and I bite my tongue just to force myself not to say anything that I might regret later.
"Well, you certainly look like an old man too" I say making Colton chuckle for a second before he realized he chuckled loud enough for Alpha Louis to hear.
Alpha Louis doesn't say a word as he strides off to talk to someone else. I don't feel that good between this sea of men. There is a table for Lunas but I bet they would be talking to each other about dresses and jewelry.
It's not like I'm not fond of them, but I just don't blend with them. I used to wear dresses until one day I embarrassed myself in the middle of a fight when I fell face flat and the entire pack laughed at me. And I've lost touch with what types of dresses are in fashion since then. I'm into swords and axes now.
"He still has his eye on you," Colton whispers in my ear and I nod.
When Alpha Louis's second wife died, he asked my father for my hand in marriage to which he denied thankfully. As much as my father hated me, he still needed an heir to rule the pack and he was left with no other option. It was just me.
"Oh Farrell and Sebastian are on their way. They are really happy and glad that you are here," Alpha Farrell's witch friend tells someone right behind me.
I could only hear her voice. Her presence is radiant. Her olive skin glowing because of the moon light. I look around and notice that seventy percent of the men here are staring at her. Few are drooling even.
"Alpha Aylee?" I hear her voice and I turn around to see her.
"Yes. Nice to meet you," I extend my hand but she hugs me catching me off guard and she smells heavenly too. If I was a lesbian, I would be hitting on her already.
"Great to see you. I am Meghan," she says, pulling away and I smile at her.
"Farrell and Alpha Mother Serena really wanted you to come. They would be so thrilled to even know that you are here. Trust me, Serena is not going to leave your side throughout the party," Meghan tells me again.
Well, I have heard her say the same thing to almost everyone here. That Alpha Farrell is happy and glad to know they're here. But this is the first time I heard her say that about Alpha Mother though.
"My pleasure," I whisper and she looks towards the pack village where I see two figures walking towards the party.
It must be Beta Sebastian and Alpha Mother Serena. Because he doesn't look like an Alpha. Meghan talks to Serena and they both look at me in an instant. Now this is making me a tad bit uncomfortable.
And behind them, I see a man walking towards the party. Probably the tallest of everyone here. His black curls moving according to his body movement. His dark blue satin shirt sticking to his body.
I hate my mind for showing me images of how his body would look like underneath his shirt. I close my eyes desperate for that image to fade away but my mind dares showing me an image of me kissing his abs and licking my way up to his neck.
I open my eyes and find him standing with his eyes closed too. He is just standing. Not moving at all. Meghan is rushing towards him and I feel Colton tug my hands.
"He is just standing there with his eyes closed. I don't have a good feeling about this, Aylee" Colton says.
"Why?" I ask him back.
"Because he is a monster as they said in the prophecy," Colton says again.
Then why am I thinking about me kissing him and licking his abs?
"Let's get out of here," I say the moment I see Alpha Farrell's eyes searching for someone in the crowd.
If I stay here for one more minute, I don't know what else I'll be imagining. This is wrong in many ways and maybe like Colton said this is a bad idea.
I stood up and nodded at Colton who gladly made way for me to reach my carriage.
"Everyone. Stop!" I hear Alpha Farrell's roar and I feel chills on my body.
But thank heavens that the carriage driver has already started riding and soon I'll be out of here.
I don't even dare to blink for a while, afraid I might think of something unholy if I close my eyes even for a second.
