Taming the Lady Agent

Episode 4

Padabog ang pagpasok ni Jaz sa conference room na pagdadausan ng kanilang meeting sa gabing iyon. She brushed her hair using her fingers while scanning the room. Nandoon na kaagad ang magkapatid at si Clyde na busy sa telepono nito. 

“Yosh!” bati sa kanya ni Jayden habang naka-ngisi.

“Akala ko susunduin ka ni Chief?” tanong ni Kayden

Nahinto sya sa pag-upo sa swivel chair sa tabi ni Clyde at tiningnan si Kayden. “Ano?”

“Nasaan si Chief? Sabi kasi nya susunduin ka daw niya.” ulit nito

Kaya naman pala napadpad iyon sa opisina niya, susunduin talaga siya. Napa-iling na lang siya, bakit kailangan pa siyang sunduin? Hindi naman siya bata. 

Bumukas ang pinto at pumasok si Kurt na mukhang masama ang mood. “Kurt, saan ka nanggaling? Bakit nauna si Jaz?” inosenteng tanong ni Jayden.

Walang isinagot si Kurt at dumiretso lang ito sa upuan nito. “Nabasted ka ba ulit?” kulit ni Jayden dito. 

She sighed, walang pinagbago ang magkapatid na iyon. Palagi na lang nangti-trip. “Aray Kurt! Harassment iyan! Idedemanda kita!” reklamo ni Jayden nang pilipitin ni Kurt and braso nito palikod. 

“Don’t mess up with Kurt lalo na kapag basted.” ani Clyde habang nakatingin pa din sa telepono nito. Malamang kausap na naman ang asawa, he’s madly in love with Aiyanna. Good for him, though.

Malakas na tumawa lang ang magkapatid nang bitiwan ni Kurt and braso ni Jayden. Kahit ang bestfriend ni Kurt na si Clyde ay inaasar ito wala na itong magagawa kundi tumahimik. Doon naman siya magaling. 

Ilang saglit pa ay bumukas ulit ang pintuan ng conference room na iyon at pumasok ang isang babae na medyo may edad na ngunit napaka-ganda pa rin nito. She’s wearing her infamous straight dress and wedges with her jewelry on. Victoria Olivar. She’s one of the Kingpin in the  agency.

Ang Kingpin ay nagsisilbing head ng bawat department sa agency and are reporting directly to the General. While the General will report to the big bosses of the agency. Those bosses were not named and probably no one ever knows who they are. 

Victoria Olivar is the next General once General Carlos retires. 

She walked inside the room with her chin up. “Good Evening agents.” 

They sat up straight and greeted her “Good Evening, Victoria.”

“Maybe you guys are confused why I showed up tonight. Just to let you know, Carlos is on a vacation for a couple of weeks so I am in charge of your next mission.” paliwanag nito. 

Kaya naman pala. She handed a folder to each one of us and started discussing. 

“What you see here is the Corona Tumular of Spain.” she said pertaining to the picture in the slide projected. 

“It was last used in 2014 when King Philipe VI was crowned. After that, it was set on a public display. Maraming turista ang dumadayo sa Espanya para tingnan ang Crown and sceptre sa Royal Palace of Madrid.” 

Lahat sila ay tahimik na nakikinig sa report ni Victoria. She smiled at them “But that is the fake crown and sceptre. Ang totoong dahilan ng hindi paggamit sa coronation ay dahil nanakaw ang mga iyon months after the coronation. The royal palace did not announced it to the world dahil ayaw nilang makahatak ng kung ano mang publicity. Though they sent written and confidential letters to different intelligence agencies at ang kung sino mang makakahanap ng totoong crown and sceptre ay guaranteed good relationship with the spanish intelligence.”

Napa-tango siya, magandang chance iyon para magkaraon ng magandang relasyon ang Pilipinas at Spain sa intel. 

“And those things are in the country?” tanong ni Kurt. 

“I’m glad you asked. Sa loob ng pitong taon, walang naka-alam kung saan nakatago ang mga iyon. Until this moment. We have an intelligence inside a black market society. Magkakaroon ng auction this Saturday sa isang private island sa Palawan at isa sa item doon ang Corona Tumular. Other items, mostly jewelries were smuggled at halos lahat ay nakaw sa iba’t ibang bansa. This is a good shot for our agency, if this mission is a success. We’re likely to have more solid connections which we really need.”

“And how do we get an invite?” taong naman ni Clyde

“Oh, we already did.” she smirked. She clicked the remote control on her hand to open the next slide in the presentation. 

Larawan iyon ng isang babae at lalaki, mukhang Frances ang dalawang iyon base sa physical features. 

“They are Genevieve Dubois and Simone Laurant. Their parents are the bosses of the Mafia clan in France, ikakasal sila sa November at sila ang magmamana ng ilegal businesses ng mga magulang nila once they got married. We will delay their arrival in Palawan.”

This mission is interesting, siguradong puno ng mga kriminal ang auction na iyon. 

“Meaning, we need to have someone to cover. Croft and Chief, you’ll take their places. Light, prepare everything and forge the invitation and their system para mapalitan ang photos nina Genevieve at Simone.” 

Jasmine is dumbfounded, sure it’s interesting pero magpapanggap siyang fiance niya si Kurt?! What the heck??

“Before I forgot, Simone is deeply and madly in love with Genevieve, kaya please lang. Don’t blow up your cover. Kilala ang Dubois at Laurant pero wala pang nakakakita kina Simone at Genevieve kaya safe pa kayo. And also, here.” inilapag ni Victoria ang isang maliit na kahon sa harapan niya. 

She gasped when she opened it. It is the imperial blue diamond engagement ring. 

“Don’t be too mesmerized, Croft. Peke iyan. Nasa daliri ni Genevieve and totoong Imperial Blue Diamond. And we have to retrieve it as well. The Bravo team will take care of those two. Your team need to have your main plan and back up plans. You know the drill.” 

Iyon lang at lumabas na ito sa conference room.
