Taming the Lady Agent

Chapter 6

And as if on cue, lumabas ang host ng event sa stage at ini-announce na start na ng auction. 

“What’s the situation there, King?” mahinang tanong ni Kurt

“We secured all the items but the main package isn’t here.” sagot ni King

“f**k. We’re screwed.” sambit ni Kurt. “We have to go now.” anito

“No.” sabi niya na nakapagpa-tigil kay Kurt. 

“What do you mean no?” inis na sambit nito. 

“We became too confident with the plan. The package is in a more secured place. Hindi natin malalaman sa ngayon kung saan iyon, but since the event is starting, might as well we wait for the items. We have to bid, that’s the only way we can get it.” 

Saglit na nag isip si Kurt at bahagyang tumango, “Okay, that’s the plan. Once the items are packed away after we won the bid, secure it. After that, we leave. Let’s make this as quick as possible.” 

“Copy that.” sabay sabay nilang sagot kay Chief. 

She suspects that the crown and sceptre will be the main event kaya ibang items pa ang ina-auction ngayon. May mga taong kilala niya  sa event na iyon, those people are on their wanted list. Mga lider ng sindikato o di kaya’y mga drug lords. 

“We’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge some of our VVIP guests.” may binanggit itong mga pangalan at natutok ang spotlight sa mga ito habang nagpapalakpakan ang ibang guests. 

“And of course, Ms. Genevieve Dubois and Mr. Simone Laurant. They are directly from France.” anunsyo ng host kaya napunta sa kanila ang spotlight. 

“We are so pleased that you could make it to this event. I also heard that you will be tying the knot soon! Congratulations!” 

Isang pekeng ngiti ang pinakawalan niya dahil sa atensyong binibigay sa kanila ng host. “Merci.” aniya habang nakangiti. 

“Kiss!” hiyaw ng isa sa di kalayuan. And if she’s not mistaken, kilala niya ang boses na iyon. Hindi pa ito nakuntento at pinatunog pa ang baso ng champagne gamit ang maliit na kutsara. 

“Wish for your life after this, Kayden.” bulong ni Kurt nang yumuko ito sa kanya.

Dahil sinumulan ni Kayden ang kalokohang iyon, nakigaya na rin ang ibang guests at inuudyokan silang dalawa. What the f**k. 

Ngumiti siya at kunwa’y nahihiya sa mga tao. Humanda talaga sakin si Kayden pagkatapos nito, punyeta! 

Her eyes widened when she felt Kurt’s soft lips on hers, gently kissing her. Hinapit siya nito sa bewang habang nakapikit ang mga mata. She was too stunned to react, parang nagging blurry ang lahat. She was hearing cheers and claps but she could only feel his gentle kiss. She slowly closed her eyes to kiss him back but before she could even do that, Kurt stopped kissing her and stared at her coldly. 

“Wow, that is so sweet!! Thank you so much!” masayang sabi ng host saka nagpatuloy sa program. 

Isinawalang bahala na lang niya ang halik na iyon dahil umaarte lang naman sila. She even felt his disgust after they shared the kiss. Mapait syang napangiti dahil sa naisip, imposibleng magkaayos sila ni Kurt. 

“We have a problem.” ani Light

“What is it?” tanong niya

“The Bravo team released Genevieve and Simone, may natanggap daw silang go signal na nasecure na natin lahat ng items. They will arrive here soon.” 

“How much time do we have?” tanong ni Chief

“5 minutes.Wrap it up you two.” ani King sa kanila. 

Sakto namang inilabas na ang crown and sceptre sa stage. “And now we have here the Corona Tumular of Spain. Starting bid is 500 million dollars.”

“We’ll try to delay them, tapusin niyo na yan.” ani Eye sa kanila. 

Kurt raised his number “100 million dollars.” 

“100 million dollars for Mr. Laurant.” 

“120 million dollars” sambit ng isang lalaki sa di kalayuan sa kanila. 

Kurt once again raised his number, “150 million dollars.” 

“160 million dollars,” the man announced. 

“Fucker.” inis na sambit ni Kurt. He raised his number, “250 million dollars”

Everyone gasped when he said his bid. “Two hundred fifty million dollars for Mr. Laurant. Going once, going twice..” 

“500 million dollars!” a man shouted from the entrance. He’s wearing a white tuxedo, may kasama itong babae na nakasuot naman ng puting gown. They are the real Simone and Genevieve. 

“I’m not sure who is trying to steal our identities. And why they are doing it. But I believe, I know now.” ani Simone. 

“Go!” Kurt signaled her. She got her gun and shot  Simone on his leg, ngunit nakaiwas ito sa asinta niya. Obviously, everything’s in chaos. 

“Bakit ka nagpaputok?!” inis na tanong ni Kurt sa kanya

“Sabi mo ‘Go!’ “ inis ding sagot niya habang pinipilayan ang lalaking humablot ng buhok niya. 

Kurt punched the guy in front of him who tried to stab him on the chest. “What I meant was for you to run and get the items!” galit na anito sa kanya.

“Well you could’ve said it clearly to me! Duh!” aniya saka tumakbo papunta sa stage upang kunin ang crown at sceptre. The security was trying to put it to safety ngunit pinaputukan niya ang isa sa mga iyon. She stabbed the other guy on his throat, at ang isa naman ay nagtangkang patumbahin siya ngunit naunahan niya itong sipain sa sikmura at pinaputukan ng bala sa ulo. 

“King, ready the chopper!” aniya sa earpiece nila

“I’m on it!!” sagot nito sa kanya. 

She almost got the crown and sceptre kung hindi lang humarang si Genevieve sa kanya. “Do you really think you can get these?” 

“Step away, Miss.” banta niya. 

“Not a chance.” anito sa kanya saka sya sinugod. She forgot that this woman is a daughter of a Mafia Lord, of course she knows how to fight. 

All she did was to block her attacks. “Cmon, you’ll just get tired of this. Give them to me.” 

“Not until you kill my fiance.” anito sa kanya na ikinagulat niya. 

“What?” gulat na tanong niya.

“I’m too tired of being his fiancee. All I wanted to do is write and pursue my dreams. So just shoot him and I hand these over to you.” she explained. 

“You’re being serious??” tanong niyang muli

“Well, I am!” 

Kinuha niya ang baril at tumingin sa ibaba ng stage. Nagkakagulo pa rin doon, she saw her friends fighting the guys but they tried to minimize the people they would kill. Otherwise, those people will be after them. At hindi iyon kasama sa misyon nila. Inasinta niya si Simone na busy makipag basag ulo kay Kurt. 

“Do it!” ani Genevieve. 

She did not hit the trigger. Instead, she quickly hit Genevieve’s head with her gun upang mawalan ito ng malay. No way she will kill a Mafia Lord’s son, unless it’s part of the mission. But it isn’t, kailangan na nilang makabalik sa Maynila ngayon. 

“I got the package. Let’s go!” anunsiyo niya at tumakbo na patungo sa helipad ng isla. 

Habang tumatakbo ay nakita niyang sumunod na rin sina Light, Eye at Chief sa kanya. Light got the items from her saka nagpatuloy sa pagtakbo. They heard an explosion somewhere ngunit hindi na sila tumigil dahil doon, ang mahalaga ay hindi sila ang may dahilan niyon at nakuha na nila ang items na kailangan nila. 

Nang makasakay sa chopper ay biglang siyang sinigawan ni Kurt, “What the hell happened back there, Jasmine?” 

“What??” naiinis niyang tanong

“Bakit ka nagpaputok? What happened to the ‘We have to be discrete’ part of the plan??” 

Tinaasan niya ito ng kilay, “Do you have any other plans to divert their attention, Chief?” 

Natigilan ito kaya nagpatuloy siya, “If I didn’t do that, baka nandoon pa rin tayo at tayo na ang target ng lahat ng guests doon kapag nalaman nila ang pakay natin.” 

“You killed three people.” anito sa kanya habang nagtatagis ang mga bagang

“Shut up Kurt, they are the event’s security. I did not touch anyone that is from the other clans.” 

Totoo naman, dahil kapag pumatay sila ng parte ng ibang clan o sindikato, dadami pa ang magiging conflict sa misyon nila at sigurado siyang susundan sila ng mga iyon. And besides, there are other teams who handle those people. 

“Chill. Ang mahalaga nasa atin na ang lahat ng items. It’s still a mission complete.” pag iiba ni Jayden ng topic. 

“I wonder who told the Bravo team that all is clear on our end.” ani Clyde habang kino-control ang chopper. 

Iyon ang nakapagpa tahimik sa kanilang lahat. Is there a mole inside the agency?
