The agreement

Ivi I was experiencing that strange feeling when you realize that you have passed to the next stage in your relationship with a person and you are no longer like two strangers. I couldn't believe that only a few days ago Gideon was my brother's inaccessible friend who couldn't stand me. And now... Oh, well. I won't go there. I tried my best not to cross his path, which was not difficult, considering that I had always tried not to see him. The pills definitely worked, and I no longer felt this constant frantic need...except when I was thinking about him. And as much as I wasn't happy to admit it, the problem wasn't in the pills... They just weren't magical. Anyway. I started seeing Emmet more often, who complained that the management was starting to ask too many questions. I wondered if their problem with him was that we were friends, but Emmet said they were suspicious of him from the start. He even felt like he was constantly followed. Three days after what happened, Pears came to my room. I invited him in, and he kept looking at me coldly. "I came to tell you that you're no longer part of the list of departures to guard the borders of the Venix pack. And if you wonder why, think again before you do something else against one of us. Life here's gonna be tough for you. " I looked at him indignantly. "Pears, what exactly I did to you? To Tessa? You know that during a fight sometimes bad things happen. Haven't you got serious injuries during training before?" "She was your trainer, Ivi! One of the best warriors. You had to submit, but no. You couldn't help but show that you're from Alpha family, right?" "It wasn't like that. You know how long I've been among humans. Sometimes I can't control my wolf. It was an accident." "Ivi, how stupid you think I am to believe that. If you want to be treated differently because you're a daughter of an Alpha, go back to your pack. Here you are even less important than the omegas. At least, they're our pack members. You know what is driving me crazy? That you're no one. You come to our pack, although Alpha openly shows that he doesn't want you here. You intrude, and then you think you can attack not just anyone, but one of the most valuable pack members. And all because you're the sister of our Alpha's friend. Stay away from us. Your only chance of living here is to not show yourself in front of our eyes. Otherwise, I don't answer." "The irony here is obvious. You want me gone but you ruin the chance to get rid of me. I could have gone to the Venix pack. Maybe even settle there, didn't you think about it?" His expression was blank at first and then he got angry again. "You won't get anything you want here. Do you understand? And the best part is that Alpha is on our side. Your only chance is to take advantage of your connections, but that will only set the pack against you. Be sure, I will let them know. So either way, we win." And he stormed out of the room. How could I set myself in such an awful situation? The thing was I wanted to be independent. I wanted to know that I had built my life myself, something I began to realize that it can't happen here. I didn't want to use my brother to achieve my goals, but the truth is that Gideon would always comply. The more I thought, the more I realized that my chance for change lay in the Venix pack. But how can I change Gideon's decision without looking like I'm taking advantage of my relationships? And how could I go to talk to him when he aroused the desire in me only with his presence? Loren? I need a favor... What, baby girl? I need you to change Gideon's mind about my participation in his Venix pack project. Are you sure about it? This type of engagement is usually a pain in the ass. Believe me. You'll be bored to death. I... I know but I still want to go there. I'll see If I can do something... I terminated the mind-link and tried to do my work without thinking about my problems. A couple of hours later her response made me return to the pack house and go to the office. This time both Tessa and Pears were in the lobby, sitting in front of Donnie. "Do you need something, Ivi?" I looked uncertainly at the office's door. "I need to talk to Alpha." "He's busy now. He doesn't accept anyone." I looked at Pears's angry face, but in the meantime, Donnie had contacted Alpha and nodded at me. "Alpha said you can come in." I knocked on the door, opened it, and went in. He was talking on the phone but gestured for me to sit down. I tried not to look him in the eye, but every time I peeked, he was looking straight at me. Maybe it was a bad idea... He finally ended the call and put his hands on the desk. "Do you need anything?" His calm and polite voice was such a contrast to what I used to hear from him. "I just wanted to ask you if I could be on the list for Venix pack again? I know what Tessa and Pears told you but I assure you..." "Tessa and Pears are not the reason I removed your name from the list." "And what is the reason, Gid... I mean, Alpha?" "I don't want you there. I need you here." I stared at him speechless. "Are you aware of what you're saying? Do you remember who I am?" He leaned on the back of his chair and sighed wearily. "I don't like games, Ivi. I'm honest. I want you. I don't even care about Mason right now. I can't stop thinking about you!" I kept looking at him, processing what he was saying. "Your desire and actions are no longer guided by your Heat period. But we can still keep our agreement. I know you want me, Ivi. And you know that desire won't disappear even if you go to the Venix pack. Let's just get it out of our systems." My body had already decided. But my brain struggled to process the pros and cons of this...whatever it was. I was totally blocked. Maybe I should just agree...I mean answer, cause I shouldn't keep him waiting. Or the opposite. Say no and then think about it in our room. "Okay." Emery rolled her eyes and I almost shushed her in front of Gideon. He smiled with a pleased expression. The gentle look in his eyes was mesmerizing and I didn't realize when exactly he came to stand in front of me. He took my hands in his, pulling me out of the chair. He stroked my cheek with one hand and then grabbed my chin and put the other behind my head. He was about to kiss me when a knock interrupted us.
