We ran as fast as we could and the moment I entered my room, I brushed my tears angrily. That pig! I knew it! I knew I was crazy to agree.
But my need for him was so strong…
Stupid. Stupid Ivi. What was I thinking?! Gideon hated me from the very first moment. And I jumped his bones the second he showed me some interest. I wasn't a naive, innocent she-wolf. I didn't have a problem with one-night stands. But it had to be with someone who I won't meet again or someone who likes and respects me.
But that's it. I won't give him the slightest interest. He was the one losing.
The most annoying thing was that I still felt the need to be with him. My arousal intensified, despite my anger and I recognized the first signs of my heat period.
Damn it! My bottom was throbbing, and I kept thinking about the time we spent together. I lay on the bed, running my hands over my body. Maybe I needed this pill. I then gave up and decided that the first thing I was going to do tomorrow morning was to take that pill!
I mind-linked Loren knowing she should be awake.
I need that pill first thing in the morning.
Her response came quick.
Then you should go to Mr. Patterson. He opens at 8 o'clock.
I wasn't sure how I was going to endure the night, but I had to grit my teeth. The problem was that my need was so strong during the Heat period that I couldn't find satisfaction by myself. When there was a knock on the door, my relief was so great, Loren was a true friend. I ran for the door fully naked and opened it with a swing.
"You're the best!" My smile faded when I found Gideon there.
His eyes engulfed my body, and when he looked at me again, the desire was already burning in them.
"I'm sorry." His seriousness softened my anger and my treacherous body started to move on its own terms.
I opened the door wide and let him in.
In the morning I could hardly wait for a more appropriate hour and when the clock showed it was 8 am, I flew to the medical center. Gideon left after the third intercourse, although I was ready for more. That was the first time I did it so many times in a roll, but with him I was insatiable. However, we had to use the time when he could go out unnoticed.
We didn't talk. But I had already decided that I would take the pill. I knocked on the door, waiting in the cool air.

The door opened and Mr. Patterson, the Healer, looked at me with his worried eyes and frowned.
"Hello, Mr. Patterson, is everything alright?"
I peered behind him and saw the mess. "You need some help?"
"No, what do you need, Ivi?" I stared behind his back again but then shrugged. As he wish.
"I need the pill."
He raised his brows confused and I blushed. "You know. The pill for relieving the Heat symptoms?"
"Oh, ok, wait for me. Oh, Alpha, come in. See, what a mess! Someone broke in during the night and I'm in search of some medicines."
I tensed, feeling the warmth of his body behind me, and I immediately made way for him to pass. I was staring at the floor and when his arm brushed mine on his way in, I was glad for the colder weather that made me put on a long sleeve.
Relax, Ivi, you're going to take the pill and everything will go back to normal.
Are you talking to me or to yourself? Better be me.

I just find it ironic that everyone thinks you're strange because of me.
My foot began to tap nervously on the floor, and Mr. Patterson hurried.
"Now, now. It must be here somewhere. I hope they didn't take it as well."
My eyes widened in horror and I met Gideon's amused gaze.
I wanted to shout at him that it wasn't funny, but I kept looking silently with growing anger. It was easy for them. Only females had a Heat period. If he was in my place, writhing in need when the female could leave untouched whenever she wanted, it wouldn't be so much fun. Once again, I realized how great it was that someone invented that pill.
He seemed to sense my mood and his eyes became serious, I even saw pity in them.
Mr. Patterson finally came to me.
"Here. That bottle will serve you for a year to come. Dev is not here yet and I can't find the book but I'll try to remember and sign you there. You should be very careful because we have the exact number of our pack members and If some of the females haven't refused to take it, we wouldn't have it for you now. "
I nodded.
"Take one pill every day for a month and three days exactly."
"Got it! Thank you! I should go now. Have a nice day!" I almost forgot about Gideon. "Alpha."
I turned to go when his voice stopped me.
"Wait for me outside, Ivi."
I looked at him over my shoulder and my face betrayed my emotions.
"Mr. Patterson, when exactly does this pill starts working?"
"Immediately, Ivy. You'll feel relief soon after you take it."
"Great! One last thing! Can I have a glass of water, please?" I smiled apologetically and took the glass of water, which he handed me a minute later. I put the pill in my mouth and gulped the water without taking my eyes off Gideon's.
"Thank you!"
Ten minutes later I was still waiting outside around the corner when Gideon came. My eyes did what they were best at, looked at him from top to bottom, eagerly taking in the view. And he was gorgeous as always. With the white button shirt, the sleeves of it rolled up his muscled arms and a pair of black trousers.
Irritated, I quickly looked away.
"I want to apologize again. What I did was awful, unforgivable."
He seemed honest. But the thing that made me accept his apology was what he looked like. He was a nervous wreck. He kept biting his lips and touching his sleeves like he didn't know what else to do.
"It's ok."
We stared at each other silently, only our eyes spoke and what his said made me uneasy.
"I should go."
"Ivi..."
"Take care, Alpha!" I tried to go but he grabbed my hand and his touch only made me hot again. I started to breathe with effort, my mouth half-open, I was hypnotized. His eyes dropped to my lips and I felt the familiar pulsation down there.
"That pill doesn't work. Maybe he gave me the wrong ones. Or maybe I should take one more..." I was already fishing in my pocket for the bottle and when I took it out, he grabbed my hand gently.
"Ivi."
I looked up scared that he's going to kiss me and I'll happily cooperate.
"No!"
I pulled my hand out of his and ran toward the pack house. Before I got in, I glanced for the last time and saw he was still there, looking at me with his hands in his pockets.
