Gideon I was losing my mind. I couldn't stop thinking about her. About her body. Where did this attraction come from, for Goddess's sake? I was perfectly fine by now. Sleeping with a new female every time had its positive sides. I could focus on the needs of the pack and at the same time satisfy my needs without unnecessary responsibilities. But Ivi... I needed to get her out of my system. We've had a lot of problems recently. On top of that Harris had become very annoying lately. I never liked him, but we were neighbors and he was my brother's best friend, so I had to be good-natured. I was sure that part of my pack members were someone's moles but I couldn't understand what they wanted and who could be their leader. Not that I didn't have enemies but they were mostly my brother's. My only enemy was Zyier. It could possibly be someone related to him. Those fuckers were unpredictable. I had heard rumors that they used rogues and humans for some sick games, but I wasn't sure if I could trust them. I had a meeting with my best team and one by one they came to the office. I scanned the room and leaned on the back of my chair. "There are moles in our pack. I'm not sure if they're only among the newcomers but we have to be cautious. Have you noticed anything strange recently? Do you have any suspicions?" I was observing their faces carefully and I didn't miss the looks that Tessa and Pears exchanged. "Alpha, we have one." When he fell silent and glanced uncertainly at Tessa, I began to lose patience. "So? Who is it?" "Ivi." I was so surprised to hear her name in the middle of a meeting that I initially stared at him confused. "She is a newcomer. We can safely say that the problems started a little after she came here. She's not a rogue. She may be related to someone important. I don't know. But she's too aggressive and disrespectful for someone who wants to stay here." Aggressive? I stared unconsciously at one point on my desk. I imagined her in the woods just an hour ago and I instantly felt my c**k getting semi-hard. I knew where my thoughts would take me, so I hurried to change the subject. "Are you afraid of her, Pears?" "No! Of course, Alpha, no." "Good. I do not doubt that Ivi may be dangerous, but she's not the one we're looking for. Other observations?" His mood worsened and I saw his irritation. "No, Alpha." "I want you to be vigilant. It could be anyone. I have complete faith only in you. Anyone who is not in this room is under question, got it?" After discussing a few more things, everyone except Loren went out. I looked at my watch once more and began to regret giving her all night to think. In just one hour I was finishing my duties here and we could've finished what we started. But I was to keep my word. "What is it?" I sighed and tossed the documents I was holding. I was too distracted to work. "I'm just tired." "You need to get laid." "I will." "Well, since all my besties are getting laid, I need to find someone for myself." At first, I didn't pay attention to her words, but their meaning came to my mind. "What do you mean? Who's your bestie?" In normal circumstances, I'll think she was referring to Ivi. But how did she know what we planned on happening? "Ivi has a date tonight, not that it concerns you. But you asked. And obviously, you plan on getting laid too. So I won't stay the only... Hey! Alpha?! Where are you going?!" "Where is she?" I was so overwhelmed with anger that I didn't see her happy smile. "I heard they'll be meeting by the lake." And I was gone before she could close her mouth. I was there in no time. Riven's body was filled with anger. We were one. We saw them standing by the lake next to each other. Ivi's expression was unreadable, while the fucker was looking pleased. We lost it when he grabbed her hand. Ivi The loud menacing growling scared me to death. I was so focused on how to get rid of the situation I put myself into that I didn't see the intruder. Riven looked like he was starving and we were the meal. His sharp canines were showing, and the look in his eyes foreshadowed death. Noel was shaking with fear and I put my hand on his in an attempt to calm him down. That was the moment Riven ran toward us. I was afraid but knew that Gideon wouldn't hurt me so I stood in his way. Noel leaned his back against a tree and shivered like a leaf. "Gideon? What the Hell?!" He tried to run beside me but I moved with him. "Please!" He could easily overcome me, and we both knew it. So I tried to reason with him again. "Alpha, please. Let him go. Okay? Noel?! Go now!" He kept shaking next to the tree and I shouted again. "Go, Noel! I and your Alpha have something to discuss now!" Riven tilted his huge head toward me and after a long, tense moment, he turned around. I gestured with my hand behind my back for Noel to go and I heard him leaving, turning in his wolf form. My mind tried to put my emotions in order, but everything in my head was a mess. Gideon turned in his human form but he still looked dangerous with the same fury in his eyes. For a few seconds, he just stood there, looking at me angrily in his naked gloriousness. I was both angry and pleased, shocked and turned on. I have never felt anything like that before. "First rule. Don't ever, EVER, let any male so close to you again." I kept staring at him, waiting for the meaning of the words to reach my brain. And when It did, my own anger broke through the fog of confusing feelings. "Who do you think you are?! I'll be getting closer to anyone I want! It's my own body and my own life!" "I agree. It's your freaking gorgeous body! But for the time you're giving it to me, no one else will have it!" My eyes blurred with desire and I tried to mask it. "Who said I'm giving you something?" He smiled but the smile didn't reach his eyes. When he started coming towards me, I panicked. "Gideon, you gave me one night!" "And It was a mistake!" "But… I need more time!" I started moving backward, trying to leave space between us even though my body craved the opposite. "About what? To fill your head with stupid reasons why we shouldn't be together? Ivi, I was left with the thought you're braver! More... sophisticated." "I... It's different. You're different." He stopped a few inches before me and raised his eyebrows. "You're my brother's best friend." Gideon's eyes clouded for a second but then they shone with determination. "We're grown-ups. Who you're sleeping with is not Mason's business." "I know that. But I want to stay in your pack." He was staring at my chest but hearing my words he quickly raised his head. "I can't give you such a promise." "I'm not trying to twist your arms, but I don't want you to use it against me in time. I've heard you don't like to mess with pack members." "We'll make you an exception. And I promise I won't use it as a reason you shouldn't stay." I tried to think of something else but it seemed there was nothing left to discuss except one thing. "I want privacy. I don't want anyone to know that we're sleeping together. I want to be able to get out of the agreement anytime I want. Oh, and I want the same as you. You'll not let anyone touch you for the time of our...relationship...or something. " I shut my mouth awkwardly. Well, that was tiring. Now there was really nothing else left. Again, it was so much easier with humans. The need in his eyes intensified and he almost closed his eyes, leaning toward me. "Now that we have a deal, let's seal it!"
