Upon entering Darius' room, I promptly locked the door, switched on the lights, and began rummaging through the drawers, hoping to find a cellphone. However, as I opened each compartment, I was greeted by folders and brown envelopes containing documents. Not even a broken cellphone was in sight.
Feeling disheartened, I settled onto the edge of the bed and glanced at my damp and sandy bathrobe. Looking at the clock hanging on the wall, it was already 5:27 PM, indicating that evening was approaching. I stood up and went into the bathroom, deciding to take a quick half-bath. Upon finishing, I reached for a pristine white towel and gently dried myself off.
Just as I stepped out of the bathroom, a knock echoed through the room. Assuming it was Darius, I opened the door, only to be greeted by one of their staff members, Henry. He seemed surprised to see me in just a towel, quickly averting his gaze. I felt a slight flush of embarrassment.
"The boss wants to see you, dinner is ready, so you better hurry," he informed me in a hurry before making his exit.
I was caught off guard and glanced down at my wrapped towel. Right, I had nothing else to wear. My bathrobe was soiled from the sand, and my clothes were still wet. I couldn't just go out in just a towel.
I closed the door and went back into the bathroom. Reluctantly donning my bra and underwear—luckily, they were only mildly damp. Settling on the largest t-shirt I could find, which conveniently reached my knees,
Exiting my room, I headed straight for the kitchen. I encountered a few men along the way who looked me up and down, but I chose to ignore them.
I thought only Arel was in the kitchen, but upon opening the door, I was immediately taken aback by the scene inside. Before me sat Darius, Larco, and their right-hand man, Henry, positioned at a table. Meanwhile, their employees—including Arel—occupied seats along a lengthy table. All attention shifted to me as I walked in.
An involuntary gulp slipped from my lips, and I briefly lowered my gaze to evade their penetrating stares.. I wished I could step back and return to my room, but it felt as though my feet were glued to the spot. It was as if I felt ashamed. I realized I should have peeked first before entering. I mentally scolded myself for being so foolish.
As I was about to take a step back, a loud voice startled me, freezing me in my tracks.
"Eat if you have any interest in keeping your eyes intact. I won't hesitate to pluck them out one by one!" Larco shouted angrily, his voice echoing in the otherwise silent kitchen.
I looked up, my gaze meeting the fearful eyes of the men, who quickly averted their eyes and picked up their forks and spoons to start eating.
"And you, take a seat! Don't make me haul you over here!"
I quickly walked over to their table and took a seat next to Henry.
"You look hot in that shirt, baby girl. It looks good on you! The shirt really suits you," Darius complimented with a wink and a smile as I settled into my seat.
I opted to remain silent, focusing my attention on the array of dishes spread before me. An assortment of seafood, prepared in various styles, accompanied the ever-present rice. My stomach rumbled, and a pang of hunger coursed through me, but I hesitated to dig in, I wasn't sure how to serve myself.
"What are you waiting for? The food won't magically jump into your mouth if you don't pick up your utensils and eat!" Larco snapped impatiently, as if he had been closely observing my every move.
Just as I was about to start serving myself, Darius rose from his seat and filled my plate with food.
"Don't be nervous. We're not going to eat you. So relax and enjoy the meal," Darius reassured before resuming his seat.
Despite my trembling hands, I picked up the spoon and fork, and cautiously began eating the rice.
"Henry, her hair might get in the way," Darius instructed.
Henry smirked slightly, and I was caught off guard when he gently brushed my hair away and tucked it behind my ear. When I looked up, I realized Darius and Larco were both looking at me. I felt a blush creeping up, so I quickly averted my gaze from them.
As I looked at the squid on my plate, uncertainty filled me. I wasn't quite sure how to eat it without making a mess. I couldn't just swallow it whole, or I might choke.
I had no choice but to attempt to slice it with my fork and clumsily cut it using the spoon. However, as I tried to cut it, the squid slipped from my grasp and flew off my plate, landing on the lap of the person seated next to me.
I froze in shock, my eyes widening, and my lips slightly parted in surprise.
Slowly, I turned to look at Henry, and I couldn't help but gulp when I saw the small squid on his lap, staining his white t-shirt. It must have splattered on his shirt before falling into his lap.
Laughter erupted from the men at the other table, but it abruptly ceased when Henry glanced their way, sending the entire kitchen into silence.
"S-Sorry... I-I didn't mean to," I mumbled softly, wincing as I bit my lip. I'm in trouble again!
"That's Arel's fault. The squid seems to be still alive—it's even jumping!" Darius joked, chuckling as he stood up and exchanged his plate with mine. Now the sliced squid and crab legs were on my plate.
When I glanced at Larco, I noticed him suppressing a smile as he focused on his own plate.
I anticipated Henry's wrath, but to my surprise, he just sighed and transferred the squid onto another plate before continuing to eat. So, somehow, my fear lessened a bit.
After everyone finished eating, they all dispersed, leaving only the two of us and Arel. I helped clean up the table.
"Go ahead, I'll handle the dishes. You should go back to your room,” Arel said to me as he placed the dishes in the sink.
"There's a lot to clean, let me help you. Plus, it's still quite early to sleep," I objected.
"Just go to your room. I've got this under control. You can help me tomorrow. Seriously, go!"
I frowned. Even though I wanted to help, all I could do was leave the kitchen. As I retraced my steps back to Darius' room, a sudden slap on my backside that caused me to stop in my tracks.
"Wow! Such curves!" the bearded man exclaimed, a grin spreading across his face as he eyed me up and down, his tongue darting out to lick his lips, as if he had seen a delicious meal.
I shivered, my eyes darting around, but there was no one else in sight.
"Wanna join me in my room? I'll make you happy," he persisted, his hands lifting as if to caress my chest. I quickly brushed his hand aside and ran away.
I didn't glance back. Luckily, the man didn't chase after me. He was a pervert! His intentions were clear from his appearance. It was terrifying!
I entered the room, feeling out of breath. As I stepped in, Darius emerged from the bathroom, clad only in a white towel wrapped around his waist, using a smaller towel to dry his wet hair.
"Why were you running?" Darius furrowed his brows, pausing in drying his hair. "Who was chasing you?"
I weakly shook my head. "N-Nothing, I just... felt like running," I stammered, finding a seat at the edge of the bed.
The encounter with that man still sent shivers down my spine. It seemed like he had ill intentions. My gut feeling was telling me something was wrong with that kind of look.
Darius opened the closet, took out a black outfit, and placed it on the bed before me. However, what happened next caught me off guard. I didn't expect him to drop the towel and reveal himself in front of me.
A deep flush reddened my cheeks, as I saw his sizable front, boldly displaying its firmness, length, and size.I swiftly averted my gaze, and looked in another direction.
His laughter filled the air, laced with amusement. "Still shy, huh?" Darius chuckled.
When he finished dressing in front of me, he drew near, cupping my face. My response wavered as his lips briefly met mine, releasing me shortly after with a small smile.
"See you tomorrow night," he said, then walked towards the door.
"Are you leaving the island?" I asked.
Darius glanced over his shoulder. "Yes."
"Is Larco going with you?" I asked again, a tremor coursing through my words. I was nervous about what he might say.
"Why? Afraid of him?" Darius quirked a grin. "Yes, he's coming along. So, don't you worry. Make yourself at home while we're not around. Do as you wish, but don't entertain thoughts of escaping. Even if you considered it, you won't be able to as long as you're on this island surrounded by my men."
A wave of relief washed over me. Thank God! That beast is going with them! I wouldn't want to be locked in that freezing basement again.
"Prepare yourself for my return, for I assure you, I'll finally continue our interrupted honeymoon," Darius playfully intoned, a wink accompanying his remark before he departed.
I sighed and frowned. I was left alone in the room. At least, in some way, I felt relieved knowing that they were leaving the island.
I stood up and locked the door. As 11:00 PM approached, Darius still hadn't returned to the room. Eventually, I drifted off to sleep while waiting.
