Carrie looked so uncomfortable. She wouldn't even look at her Mom. It took Diane a moment to put the pieces together. Suddenly she shrieked, making all of us jump.
"Oh my gosh!! You are pregnant!!?" She said in a shrill, almost screaming. "I am going to be a Grandma!! Oh, Carrie! My darling girl!!" She said, setting the forgotten mimosa down and practically throwing herself at Carrie. Carrie laughed, both relieved by her Mother's reaction as well as happy. Diane was far more excited than I had expected her to be. Carrie had been sure that she would take issue with the fact that she was pregnant before the wedding day but apparently she didn't care at all.
