I decided to spend the next few days figuring out what my options were. I wanted Lacey. I couldn't deny it anymore. I just didn't know if it was possible for us to be together. The first thing I decided to do was talk to the elders.
I went to the elder I knew best, the former Alpha of the pack, Nick. Nick had been the Alpha before me. I had known him all my life. Nick became a father figure for me when my father ceased to be one. When I was chosen as the next Alpha (since Nick was unmated and had no children) Nick became my mentor.
