Christmas

Courtney Christmas was finally here and I, for one, couldn't wait. We'd opened the presents this morning and had a full English breakfast and now I was in my room after lunch waiting for Isaac. Mom had invited him for supper. Everything was great today, even though Bryce had been dropped on us for the third year running. It was getting cliche just like all of those romance movies when you lose the one you love for them only to turn up in the future and stake their claim on you and their unifying love for you. Gag. The knock was almost silent enough for me not to hear it. "It's open." I knew who it would be even before they came in. Bryce "Hey angel, do you mind if I just hang out with you for a while?" See! So contradictory. "Sure no problem." He smiled when entering the room. He closed the door and sat beside me on the bed. "So, you and Tucker had another fight?" He nodded. I shook my head. "What about now?" "Same sh.. crap." "Don't tell me you're still arguing over Shiborne?" "Yaah." "Really, as if there aren't enough girls in that damn school that are willing to date either of you. You pick the same girl. Again may I add." "I know." He sighed. "But, I really like her." "At a guess Tucker does too?" He nodded. "He's not the only one either." He mumbled. "Let me guess. Asher does as well?" He nodded. God, don't these boys know how to leave the female population alone? Or if they can't find a girl who isn't the same. "He and Asher have already come to loggerheads about it." Not surprising. "And what does Shiborne want?" "To be friends. " He paused. "With all of us." At least she has her head screwed on. "That's good, isn't it?" "Not really. We don't know who she likes." "She likes all of you dummy. Think about it from her perspective, Bryce. She doesn't want you three arguing over her as she chose to be your friend instead." He smiled. "You're a genius angel." He said, hugging me, kissing my cheek. "I will try my best." "You're the best angel, if only other girls were like you." He pulled away, looking at me. I looked at him nervously. "Your the bestest friend I will ever have. Whenever I need advice, it will be you I will come to in the future." "I surely hope so." He hugged me again. "Thanks angel." "My pleasure." He moved away. "I'm not interrupting anything, am I?" Bryce pulled away and just looked at a confused Isaac." "No, nothing like that." "I'll leave you to it, angel. I'll see if Tuck is in a better mood." "Sure." He pulled himself up off the bed. "Thanks angel." "No worries." He looked at a still confused Isaac. "I'll leave you two to it." He winked, leaving the bedroom. He closed the door behind him . I tapped the bed. Issac walked cautiously over to sit beside me. No matter how many times he's been in my room, he still gets jittery. "So, what was all that about?" "Him and Tucker arguing over a girl again. They'll get over it. She'll be next week's news after the holidays." "Wow, is your advice new?" "Not really those two need to act like friends nor enemies when it comes to the opposite sex." "Well, at least we don't have that problem. " he said, edging close. "We're both together and I'm never letting you go, no matter what." He suddenly pressed his lips on mine, kissing me passionately. He's been acting strangely for the past few months, now more possessive. Luckily, he knows me and Bryce are just friends and I just see him as a brother, nothing more. But with other guys, he tends to go all alpha on them, even our friends when they're just joking around. He just needs to chill out a little. I'm not interested in anyone but him. After supper, we exchanged gifts. Isaacs had given me a promised ring and a drop heart necklace. I had given him tickets to monster trucks and go karting. I was glad he liked his presents. I know he hasn't stopped talking about either of them for months. They are in the summer, so at least, or it will be warmer. Bryce I can't believe I nearly kissed her. I mean what the bloody hell was I even thinking? She has Isaacs and isn't interested in any other guy in a ten-mile radius but him. I'm so stupid. She's my friend and, more importantly, she's Tucker's little sister who we've grown up with over the past three years, though it feels like a lifetime. She's my angel and always will be. I know I'll never be able to have her. She's too precious to break and someone like me will break her. I need to stay away from her so I won't do anything stupid. But, how will that even be possible when you are here for the holidays? I know she mentioned going to Simone's new year's eve and they'll be staying there for a couple of days, so I'll be able to keep my feelings in check for those few days. I thought my feelings had disappeared for her, since she and Isaac were now literally joined at the hip and I had been eyeing up different girls. Maybe they were just a distraction away from my feelings towards Courtney. This wasn't good, it wasn't good at all. I walked into Tucker's room, which we were sharing for yet another Christmas. I bet he's as sick as I am with all of this. Tucker I looked up straight at Bryce. We'd had yet another argument about a girl. I'd already put Ash in his place for ever thinking he could win this one. "Hey." "Come to apologise?" "No." I opened my mouth to tell him to rethink his words before I beat the s**t out of him, which I didn't want to. I was closer to Bryce than any of them, even though me and Asher had become friends at first. He treated my sister with the respect his age deserved, unlike Asher, who had this undying hatred for her. And yet no one knew why all my other friends got on with her and had befriended her, unlike Asher, who was too stubborn to put whatever he had against Courtney behind him and made friends with her. "I wanted a truce between us. We can go in like this, Tucker. I see you as one of my closest friends and here we are arguing over a damn chick." "True. So what do you suggest?" "Just to be friends with him like she wants." "You talked to Courtney, didn't you?" He nodded embarrassingly. "She gave good advice actually. " "She always has just a pity none of us listen." "True." "But?" "But, this time we are. I don't want to fight over a girl. Tucker, there's plenty of them to go around." "True." "So we're not going to argue over another chick?" "Nope." We pulled each other into a bro hug. I could tell he wanted to say more, but had chosen not to and just respected his privacy.
