Courtney
It feels strange coming back here knowing there will be no Jossiah to follow me around like the guardian angel he was. I guess things will be different from now on.
I sighed.
"Hey kitten what's with the long face?" Issac asked, throwing his arm over my shoulders. 'Come on kitten, it can't be that bad a start of a new year and all.
I opened my mouth to reply as Tucker and his friends walked passed. Ashton looked over, he gave ne a dead look, grinning. That could mean one thing: trouble.
Issac followed my gaze. "Just ignore him, kitten. You're so much better than him. He's a jerk kitten. He'll have his comeuppance one day. Kalma is a b***h kitten, he'll soon find that out. Come on let's go meet the guys."
I nodded and we walked in the kitten school corridors shooting put friends making our way over to them. 'Hey guys."
They all turned around and smiled. "Hey to you too."
We all hugged before the bell went.
We had all hung out during the six long weeks we had off. It was the best time ever. I'd managed to avoid Ash, but I wasn't so lucky avoiding Bryce, he was staying with us for three weeks. I swear his parents like to dump him once the holidays come around. Yeah, I get it's part of their job but damn he's their son and he hardly ever sees them. I feel sorry for him going from pillow to post like a rag doll.
Isaac
I for one was glad Jossiah had left this school. He was starting to get really annoying hanging around Courtney as if she needed protection. That girl could take care of herself. The only one she needed protection from was him. He was the typical bad boy with a bad attitude.
Everyone thought I was jealous, maybe I was. He was taking her away from me and I'd be damned if I was ever going to get that happen.
Well at least now that he's gone things will go back to normal, to how they should be. Well that's if Ashton Barraman stays the hell away but that's very unlikely since Jossiah isn't here.
Ashton
Welcome to year nine we officially have two years left. Me and my posey walked into school everyone who knew everyone knew who we were. We were taking over the food chain now Jossiah Kingsman and his cronies had left school; there weren't many of us just to fight for the top spot. As we walked in I saw Courtney with Isaac. I guess things are right where they supposed to be
I looked over at her destiny blakely at her. I guess she knows what I'm emplying.
Once she was on her own she would feel my wrath. I've been able to do jack s**t while that prucn was following her around like he was some kind of bouncer.
It was pathetic if you ask me.a year eleven walking around with a year seven, did to even give a thought to what they looked like or what people were thinking or saying. No one would say s**t to any of them, especially him they were too scared
Well not me. I didn't give a damn. Now he was gone I was going for his spot.
I watched as she walked alone and walking slowly so as not to make a noise to freak her out.
I came in front of her pinning her tk the wall. "I see the leach us all alone?"
"Leave me alone Barraman."
"Or what? You're going to go running to Tucker? We both know that he won't do shit."
She looked at me unnerved.
"Your friends won't help you either, so you listen and you listen good.
Now your shadow has finally gone, things will be how they were before so you better get used to it leech " I said, glaring evilly at her.
Thomas
I was walking down the corridor minding my own business when I heard Ashton Barraman from year eight, talking to someone. More like harassing them.
Has this guy got nothing better today than to bully other pupils? He's worse than Jossiah ever was this dude trying to take Josiah's old spot?
That was never going to happen. Not while Kirk Armstrong and Leven Blackman were here. There were a few more, but those two were almost as popular as Jossiah was so he better think twice before trying to get on top of the food chain.
I turned the corner to see exactly who he was having a conversation with. It was Courtney. We all know he didn't like her. He hadn't bullied her since Jossiah had warned him to stay away. But now Jossiah was no longer; he thought he could intimate her again. Not on my watch.
"Hey leave her alone!"
He looked up, turning to look at me smirking. 'What do we have here? I guess you've gained another Prince charming, but this one isn't half as scary as the other leech."
"Don't call her that!" I said, angrily. My fists bailed.
"Go away shrimp. You don't scare me. Ne and the leech here have things to discuss."
"She's no leech Barraman. She's my friend and you need to stop your pointless bullying against her. She's better than you Barraman."
I looked at Courtney. "Come ,on sweetie let's go."
She nodded and made her way over to me. I looked dead at him. "I'll give you one warning and only one. Stay the hell away from Courtney or you don't know wads hit you!" I said before leading Courtney away.
"I could've handled it, but thank you."
'My pleasure sweetie. That's what friends are for."
The bell rang and we went to our next lesson together.
Ashton
What the hell just happened? He dared to come up against me, the great Ashton Barraman.
Who was that jerk anyway? He had no idea who he was dealing with. His dare he confront me and how dare he pull little Miss. Perfect away. I wasn't finished with her. There was so much I wanted to say. There was so much burning up inside me.
Courtney has been a pain in my rear for almost three years. All my friends liked her, but me. I just couldn't, there was something stopping me liking her, but I didn't know what it was, but it was stopping me from seeing her more than an enemy.
She was the envy of most girls in her year and ours. I had no clue why she wasn't a girl I would ever go for; she was perfect, to perfect. As for that dweeb he better watch out 'cause when I shall strike when he least expects it he won't know what's hit him when I do.
Issac
We had all decided to hang out after school even, Thomas had joined us. I liked the dude, at least I knew he wasn't trying to take Courtney away like a certain person I chose not to talk about.
He'd told us that Barraman was up to his s**t again. When will he ever give up?
Everyone knows his love hate relationship with Courtney. It's so obvious he has issues with Courtney but no one knows what they are, I don't think he even knows himself half the time. "That dude needs to get his head checked. He's grade a psychopath." Thomas commented.
We all nodded in agreement. We were glad he happened to be in the wrong place at the right time or Courtney could've had another panic attack and ended up back in hospital. That would have narked her brother though he does nothing to stop or condone Barraman's actions. All of his friends are scared I'd him and walk in his shadow including Courtney's brother.
We all hung out til dark and said goodbyes. I walked Courtney home where a guy slid out of a car thanking whoever was driving, before they beeped the horn and drove away.
The guy turned, he was holding a very large green holder. He smiled. "Shane." She squealed.
"Where's your big brothers hug little one?"
She ran up to him, he dropped his bag on the ground and pulled her into a hug. "I've missed you little one"
I stood there confused, Courtney had an older brother?
