"And what if I don't want to help you? " the vampire hissed bitterly at us, starting to struggle again under Cassimir's hold.
A low growl echoed through the clearance, making even the hair on my nape stand up. Low, slow, footsteps were heard and close to us, the red furred wolf stood tall and proud, its teeth bared, saliva dripping from between them, as it growled at us. Well, not at us. But at the young vampire who seemed to suddenly freeze in her spot , her eyes went wide and her breath hitched in her chest.
I knew very well how terrifying it was to see a beat this size coming near you, growling and snarling as if it was ready to bite your head off. And it seemed it had the same effect on our little friend here too. she was completely still and frozen, like a deer in the headlights and when the wolf barked, she yelped loudly and started to panic visibly.
"Alright! Alright! Alright! I'll help! I'll help! I'll help! " she hurried to speak as her eyes switched between me and Cassimir, searching for some comfort, or some sort of reassurance that we were not going to feed her to the beast beside us. We truly did not intend to do that, but the way Marina looked right now, might have looked a bit different than what we wanted to say. Nevertheless, it helped and that was what we needed right now. A leverage. Something to motivate the vampire to land a hand.
As soon as she spoke up, Marina's act vanished and she suddenly seemed disinterested in all this as she walked off, with her head high with a strange sense of pride to her. As she trails off, my eyes follow her for a bit before they land on the vampire that's still pinned harshly on the ground.
"Now, he will let go of you. If you try to run, we're still going to catch you and things won't be as fun and easy as they can be right now... " I inform her and she seems to be very perceptive because she nods her head immediately , her eyes pinned on Cassimir who looked mean as hell.
He slowly removed himself from on top of her and helped her to sit up slowly, so she would not feel light headed or rushed.
"This came off as a bit too violent... " I speak and move a bit closer to her.
"A bit? " she huffs and shakes off some of the dirt that clings to her bare arms. "You have strange ways on finding allies." she murmurs and looks up at me.
When I offer her a hand to help her up, she takes it with a bit of hesitance. Nonetheless, she was going to be safe with us, and despite her skepticism, I was sure she was going to come around sooner rather than later.

It was strange to be back home. everything was covered in a thin layer of dust, as no one had lived here for quite some time. there was no sign of any strange or unwanted guests and for now we were going to use my old home as a base. Why? Because this way we were out of the werewolf pack, we were out of their claws and unforgiving eyes. We were a bit more free, and surely, coming back with a third vampire in the pack was not going to go smoothly.
While the new girl washed herself and took care of her stench, we all waited downstairs. I had eft out clothes and everything she needed for when she would come out, but I was not going to invade her privacy more. not right now.
Cassimir was sprawled on the sofa and Marina was quietly eating her pizza which she ordered earlier.
"You know, it bothers me no one delivers up to the pack grounds. This pizza is absolutely amazing and everyone should have access to it. " she speaks, crashing the silent party we were all having.
"If you guys had access to such food, you'd all be overweight wolves. " Cassimir muttered, his eyes closed.
"Why?! What are you saying?! " Marina hissed as she took another bite.
"He's just messing with you. Don't mind him. " I sigh and slap Cassimir's head as I walk by him and to Marina, grabbing a slice of the pizza and starting to eat slowly.
"What? I'm right- "
"Shut up, Cass. When did you become a nutritional trainer? " I hiss and narrow my eyes at him.
His stupid smirk vanishes and he's suddenly a bit more stern.
"It was a joke. " he murmurs and I feel a bit sorry for being so mean.
I was quite on the edge lately, wasn't i? It was a bit bothersome, I'm sure, but I was not doing it on purpose. I was stressed, overworking my own brain as I tried to find the best solution to find my mate. Guilt was eating me up and I did not know how to make up for all the lost energy.
Footsteps reach my ears and I see the vampire girl come down the stairs, watching us with a half scared gaze. she was clean, her hair was now buzzed close to her scalp as she insisted she did not want to bother to detangle it. She was a bit shorter than me and skinnier due to malnourishment but my clothes did not look very bad on her. she looked a bit more lively, more human right now.
"There's some steak ..." I speak as I get up and walk to grab the takeout for her. A big paper box filled with rare steak, I ordered especially for her. She needed food and hunting was a bit off limits here since we were surrounded by humans and it might go terribly wrong.
As I give her the box, she watches me a bit unsure of what to do.
"Go ahead. It's all yours and you ca have as much as you like. We can order more if needed. " I shrug my shoulders and I see a hint of excitement in her eyes.
she takes a seat on the stairs and starts eating with her bare hand , and who am I to stop her? If that's what she wants to do...
Cassimir and Marina watch us with a bit of horror and I narrow my eyes when one of them tries to say anything. It was clear the girl was starving and I was not about to instruct her on manners now!
