I stopped walking when I saw Jessica and Eric. Both of them are talking to each other in front of the reception.

“why Jessica is here? Maybe to meet Eric”.

I said in my mind.

Eric had a smile on his face as he spoke to Jessica. Eric is thoroughly enjoying his conversation with Jessica. Just by looking at Jessica’s body language, you can tell she is flirting with Eric. Bella and her colleagues at the reception are looking at Eric and Jessica from time to time. Anyway, it became a gossip for them to tell. Jessica and Eric were standing near the main entrance, so I had to pass them to get out. What if Jessica recognized me? It’s not good to talk to Jessica in front of Eric. Anyway, I went ahead. Jessica asked me.

“Yes”

Eric came to us.

“do you know her ”?

Eric asked. Jessica’s attention shifted away from me and turned towards Eric when she knew Eric had come near.

“We were in college together. We were nothing but friends. But poor, she was the one who wrote projects for me. That’s why I can still remember her. Otherwise, I wouldn’t even recognize her. Because in college Ruby was not a popular girl like me”

Jessica started laughing. But Eric just smiled. Jessica used to be like this. She never misses an opportunity to mock others.
