1172 Words
It was already 5 in the afternoon when Violet got home. She came from her office, fixing the not so serious problem at her company. Right after she talked with Abby earlier, she wanted to take a rest. So she cancelled all her appointments and took a day off since she's not in the mood. But her secretary called her saying her presence is needed. Violet slowly parked her Acura NSX on the yard. Then she got out of it and entered the mansion. She was greeted by the silence inside. It was almost dinner time so probably the others got home on their own houses. And the adults were preparing the dinner. She doesn't mind all of it as she goes to her room upstairs. She then took off her clothes and took a shower after. Violet likes to take a shower whenever she's tired. Because the water helps her tense muscle to relax just like now. But sadly, it doesn't help to relax her mind. Everytime she closed her eyes all she can see was the face of her mate. She hated it. She can't focus on anything, it irritates her. When she finished shower and changed clothes, she decided to go downstairs, not to eat dinner though but to go to her late father's office instead. As she went through, she passed the dining room on the way. Then Mary, who's about to come in to the dining room saw her . Mary greeted her and she greeted back. "Dinner's ready, Violet." Mary said but all she replied is that she's not hungry. Mary entered the room and sat on the chair between Abby ,and Tatiana, her eldest daughter. The other kids are there already eating their dinner .As well as the other members of the pack. She elbowed Abby on her right and the latter turned to face her. "What's into her?" She asked. Abby knew instantly that she was referring to Violet as she heard them on the hallway. "She's been like that since she got home earlier in the morning." Mary added when Abby didn't replied. Abby don't know what to say. Deep inside she wanted to tell the news about their Aplha's mate to Mary. Because aside from Abby, she was also the one who wanted Violet to meet her mate already. Even though she's not one of them. Ever since she became friends with Violet, she's been supportive and caring to her like a mother. But then, Abby don't want to interfere with Violet's decision because she knows how hard it is for her best friend feelings. "Don't mind her." She replied, nonchalant. "You know she's always like that. Nothing unusual." She added before turning back to face her daughter. ----------------------------------------------------------- Violet arrived at her father's office. But she just stood outside staring at nothing, not even turning the door knob. She heard Mary and Abby's conversation from the dining room. She can sense Abby's hesitation and she knew why. Because of the mixed emotions she felt she didn't go in her father's office. But instead, got out on the mansion. Everytime she think about her mate, she remembered the past. Even her mate does not involved in it, she can't unthink the fact that she was a human. It's hard for her to trust a human again, let alone to love them. A particular person came to her mind. A person who became her friend. A person who she trusted and she even started to have feelings for but also a person who betrayed her. Anger filled her emotion. And as it consumes her heart, she can't stop to turned. She ran towards the forest. And she already reached on the trees when she is fully formed. Not even minding her clothes that was ripped when she was turning. She ran. Letting her paws to carry her anywhere it wanted her to be. She even pass their boundary. Abby is in the dining room so she wouldn't hear the alarmed in the office as the walls were soundproof. She's been running for like an eternity but she doesn't stop. She doesn't care jf her paws will get tired. She will not stop as long as the idea of her mate was still on her mind. There's a loud scream that she heard when pass a big fallen tree. She focus to the sound. Her ears twitch as she do so. It's a group of wandering teenagers. They were riding on bicycles. She stop to monitor them. She don't want them to wander around further. The last thing she wanted was uninvited humans who will pass their boundary. One of them stop when it saw something. And the other also stop to look to it also. She watched them carefully in the distance. Hiding from the bushes. "What is it?" The taller boy said. Asking her friend who was already lifting the thing they found. "It's a helmet dude." The petite and shorter one replied, scanning it. The thing they found was a helmet. It has scratches and small damages but it was still good. The boy that was holding it tried to wear it on his head. "It fits dude." He said and then removed it in his head. "It just need a little fix then it will be good as new." He added scanning the damages. A gushed of wind pass by from the two boys and came to her. As it passes by on her, her nose picked up particular scent. A scent that was already registered into her system even she just smelled it at once. The scent she's been wanting since last night, yet also the scent she doesn't want to smell because it will surely drive her crazy. Just like what it does to her now. It maybe came from somewhere. It surely doesn't belong from the two boys cause the only smell they had were from the sweats. She tried to look around, hoping to find where it came from. She unintentionally growled trying to find it. The boys heard her and looked at her direction. They unexpectedly throw the helmet on her way. Maybe trying to shushed her away or revealed herself. But she just growled again, a little louder this time. They were both startled and hurriedly got away. Pedaling their bikes frantically. She didn't know if she was seen or not. But she didn't think about it anymore. All she did was stared at the helmet that was now in front of her. She got out behind the bushes and came near it. She suddenly stop when the scent smells stronger now. It came from the helmet. And if she's right, this maybe belong to her mate. 's**t' she said on her thoughts. As her inner wolf was pushing her to find the source or the owner rather, of that scent. She tried to retaliate. But as she can still smell the scent, she did what it wants her to do. To find her.
