Chapter 9.3: Bound to you

When Maddie woke up and opened her eyes, she saw Levi right away. He was sitting on the chair of her vanity table while reading one of her books.
"Hon." She called groggily.
Levi looked up.
"Hey." He said. Before he immediately put the book down and stood up. Walking towards his mate and sat on her bed. Then gave her a kiss on the forehead.
"How was your sleep?" He asked, Caressing her back.
"It's fine." Maddie replied sitting up slowly. "How long have you been here?"
"Just about an hour ago."
Maddie grabbed her cellphone on the nightstand and check the time. It is pass 6pm. It's about dinner time.
"Gosh, I overslept." She said, caressing her forehead and closing her eyes, trying to take away the sleepiness. "I need to cook some dinner." She added and get up on the bed.
"I'll help you." Levi offered and stood up too.
Maddie walk towards her vanity mirror and fix her hair and her clothes. "Let's go." She said to Levi before going out in the room with him.
When they entered the kitchen, they saw Skye. Who was rummaging something on the fridge. She close it when she found what she wanted. She turned around and was a bit startled when she saw Maddie and Levi standing at the door.
"Maddie." She said in a huffed.
"Are you hungry, Skye ?" Maddie asked, eyeing the small tub of ice cream on her sister's hand. "I'll cook us some dinner." She offered. Thinking that maybe Skye was hungry and just grab some food on the fridge. She's somewhat guilty for not taking care of her enough.
"No, I'm fine. I don't even have an appetite." She replied before grabbing a spoon on the table. "I'm just gonna need a little booster." She added, raising the ice cream to show it to them before she walk towards the kitchen door.
"Thanks for this Levi." Skye said to him when she pass them by the door.
"You're welcome." Levi replied, smiling slightly.
Maddie just looked at Skye who went upstairs before facing Levi afterwards.
"You said she love ice cream. So I bought some. Maybe it can help her to relax." Levi explained to Maddie's unspoken question.
Maddie sighed. " Thank you." she said dearly.
"Anything for you." Levi replied before gave her a kiss on the lips.

(Skye's room)
"Oh, f**k you." Skye muttered before scooping some of her ice cream and eat it. She was annoyed by the continuous notifications that kept flooding on her phone. It's all a messages from her friends back from the city. They were having a conversation on their group chat, planning for a night out.
They kept teasing her because she's not responding to their messages or even reading it. They talk about her like she can't see their convo. They tease her that maybe she's not really on the town with her sister but in another city with her ex girl rather. Saying that it was just her alibi.
Even how many messages she received from her annoying friends, she doesn't't mind it all as she was busy on something else.
She was rather searching on Google about the animal that she saw. She's finding possible answers that can link to the description of the animal. But the answers it kept showing was about werewolf. A mythological animal that was actually a human that morph into vicious and powerful wolves.
They have the same description but it's ridiculous for her to actually believe it.
Skye search for another one while scooping some ice cream again when a little figure from outside the back yard caught her attention.
She was sitting just by the window of her room. The windows were close but she pull the curtains to the side so she can still see what is happening outside.
She squinted her eyes to see it clearly. There's not enough light outside as the only source of light was on the backdoor. But then she still saw it. It was a cat. It's color looks like grays with black stripes.
It was outside the fence facing on the bushes. It looks like it was hissing and growling on something.
It was maybe a few seconds that the cat's still doing it when suddenly the bushes move. It scared the cat so it ran away. It jump on their fence. And because it jump on the side where the little fence door is, it left the door open. Maybe Maddie forgot to lock it.
"What the..." Skye muttered. She just stared at it. Hoping that Maddie would remember locking it before she gets to bed but then she was still busy at the kitchen. Skye doesn't want to bother her. But to make sure it wouldn't left open at night, she dragged herself downstairs to lock it, kept sighing on the way.
She opened the back door and greeted by the cold air outside. She hugged herself and stepped down on the small stairs and walk through the yard.
"Uh dummy." she said when her feet stepped on the grass. She forgot to wear her flip-flops. She just got outside barefoot.
She slowly walk towards the fence and stop when the bushes behind suddenly move. She thought that maybe it's just some kind of animal like squirrel so she waited for it to get out.
But then it didn't, so she move and walk again but slowly. She doesn't know what but she can sense something.
She was startled when something hissed. She turned back and saw the cat again. It kept hissing and growling on her way.
"Hey there kitty, what's the matter ?" she unintentionally asked to the cat. As if it would answer her.
But it just kept growling at something behind her. So she turned back to face the fence again. There's still nothing out there . She was really confused now. She think that the cat maybe a crazy.
She just stood there and kept looking from the cat and to outside the fence.When she had enough, she huffed, and decided to just close the fence door.
But then as she move, the bushes move too and it suddenly revealed the thing she thought she wouldn't see again.
It growled. And even it was dark outside she knows it what it was as she sees the two glowing orbs.
She didn't move a muscle. She just stood there unable to breath. Staring at the creature she dreaded to see.
And what's worst is. It took a step towards her.
