"Are you done?" Maddie asked her younger sister when she arrived to her room. "They're waiting." She added, leaning beside the door as she stared at her. "I'm all done." Skye replied after fixing her shoe laces of her black converse. She stood up from the bed with a huffed and faced Maddison. "Are you sure you won't come with us?" "Nah. I'm too old for it." Madison replied with a light chuckle. "Old?" Skye chuckles too." You haven't even turned thirty years old." She added before she walked to her nightstand and grab her phone and keys. "Well, I still feel I'm too old to go to a fair." Skye turned around and smirked at her sister. "Don't tell me fake reason, Maddie. I know you just want an alone time with your fiance." She said as she passed through her sister at the door and walked out on the hallway. "You're ridiculous." Maddison chuckled. She shook her head at her sister's silliness and followed her downstairs. "That's my middle name." Skye replied with a lopsided grin. "No, it's not. It's Ellery. And I gave that name to you." Maddison matched her silliness, smirking too. Skye stop on her tracks and turned around abruptly to faced her sister. They were currently standing on the stairs. She looked up and glared at Maddie, her eyes turned to slits. "Don't try to change the subject." She said. "Why don't you hurry up and go. They've been waiting for you for a long time." Maddison grab her shoulders and turned her around before she gently push her to move forward. "Don't be too exaggerated." Skye commented, playfully rolling her eyes. They both entered the living room at the same time. Vanessa, who was sitting on the couch immediately stood up. "Finally." She muttered. "Where is everyday?" Skye curiously asked. She was referring to the whole gang. They plan to go to the town's annual festival and they thought of invited her. Skye said yes right away, not wanting to miss the opportunity to have fun. "They're already in the car. Cause you took so long to change." Vanessa said in a serious tone but there's a glint of mischievous on her eyes. "You said it." Maddison crossed her arms and look at Skye, pursing her lips in a thin line. "Hey, it's not even an hour yet." Skye complained, her nose scrunched subconsciously. Vanessa find it cute. A smile appeared on her face. Maddison just laugh at her sister and gently pushes her again. "Stop whining and go. " The three ladies walked out the house together. Skye immediately saw Piper standing outside the porch. The latter turned around facing them when she heard their footsteps. "Ready to go?" She said, excitement can be heard on her voice. Her outfit for tonight seems a little extra but Skye finds it cute. She's wearing a denim short paired with yellow off shoulder top and brown leather ankle boots. Her hair is braided with colorful bands and there's some yellow green wrist band on her right hand. "Please stay out of trouble." Maddison said. "We will." Piper was the one who replied among the three with a bright smile on her face. Maddie chuckled at her. "It's not you Piper. I meant for her." The older one said and nodded her head towards Skye. The latter turned around. "I will." She said rolling her eyes. "Bye." She quickly added and was about to go when Maddison stop her from leaving. "Wait, will you give me a proper goodbye?" She asked, opening her arms to her younger sister. Skye glanced at Vanessa and Piper before she turned to looked at her sister, incredulously. "Really Maddie?" "What? I just want a hug." Maddison's eyebrow perked up, still not putting down her arms. "Come on, Skye. Don't be shy." Piper butted in, giggling. Her bright smile never leaving her face as she witnesses the sweet interaction between the two sisters. She find it lovely. While Vanessa was just silently watching them with a slight smile. Skye huffed but she still obliged when Maddison was looking at her sternly. The latter surely won't back down."This is embarrassing." She mumbled in a tiny voice before she came towards her sister. Maddison heard it but she let it passed when her Skye hug her, then she hug her back tightly. "Are you okay now ?" Skye mumbled, still on an embrace. Maddison let go on their hug and pinched her sister's cheek. "More than okay." "Tsk, can we go now ?" Skye turned around as she massage her cheek with a grimace. She may look displeased but she loves that hug too. "Okay." Maddison replied. Skye immediately left the porch and walked on a quick pace to the front yard. Afraid that her sister might ask some kisses too. The two other girls said their goodbyes to Maddison. "Please bring her back in one piece. " The latter said. "We will. I promise." Piper replied and Vanessa just nod her head before the two walked to their friends. Eric opened the car door when he saw his friends coming on their way. The car they brought was not the blue faded pick up truck that they usually use. It's an old steel blue type-2 panel van. It really looks older than Skye's age actually, but it still looks good. Skye have seen it used by Levi once and she even saw Eric used it last week. She wonder who's the real owner of it. All of them got inside the van. The three ladies sat next to each other in the middle, while Seamus was on the back sitting alone and Eric was on the passenger seat. And as usual, on the driver's seat was Dean. Dean started the engine after checking if all of his friends were already settled on their seats through the rearview mirror. No one speaks on the Van for about half a minute when they left. But when Skye notices the smiling Piper on her left, she asked. "What are you smiling at?" curiosity was on her voice. She wanted to add 'you look like a fool smiling all by yourself" but decided not to. Piper turned hear head to her friend and chuckled. "Maddison treat you like a baby. You, who are the oldest in this group." She said, pursing her lips to stop herself from smiling. The other passengers inside the van were just listening to what she said. "Yeah, it's funny." Skye smirked, though she felt a little embarrass. She knew she can't do something about it. She can bet that even if she gets older, Maddison would still treat her like one. "I didn't say it's funny ." Piper face turned a little serious. "I love it actually. Maddison is an angel. You're so lucky to have a sister like her. A sister who truly cares for you." "I am lucky. But she wasn't. Cause she had me as her sister." Skye snorted, delivering the sentence as a joke but what she have said was true, atleast for her. Maddison gave her love, care and support but all she gave to her sister were problems and troubles. Skye turned her head to the right when Vanessa nudged her. "Give yourself a credit." The latter said with a genuine smile. Skye thought that Vanessa can see through her facade the way she looks at her eyes. The auburn haired girl smirked and avoided her eye contact. She thought for a bit before she speaks. "Well, if it counts, she was still lucky cause she had a gorgeous sister." "That's the spirit." Seamus suddenly commented with a widest grin and Skye laughed at his reaction. Vanessa just shook her head a little with a sly grin. "I never said you should be conceited." She said, playfully glaring at Skye. "You told me." Skye just shrugged her shoulders. "How's the dinner with Violet by the way?" Seamus suddenly said out of the blue. Three heads automatically turned to him in an instant and a glare from the rearview mirror when he said those words. There was a hint of excitement and curiosity on his voice. He glanced at Piper who is shooting daggers at him. She tried to gave him signals with her eyes but the boy just mouthed a 'what?' with a frown. He didn't get the warning and the tiny lady wanted to push him off the road because of his stupidity. The silence in the van broke when Skye chuckled. "Thank God it went well." She said, without even knowing that she somehow eases the tension among her friends. "She ate the foods that we served, I didn't really know if she had love it but atleast she ate, right?" Skye added, laughing a little. "She really came?" Seamus asked her with amazement on his voice. He can't believe that the most strongest, feared by all, and aloof Alpha in their area who obviously doesn't have a care in the world or to anyone except to her pack, agreed to have a dinner with Skye and her sister. The Patternsons can't even convince her to their every invites. "Will you just shut your mouth?" Piper quickly said before Seamus can say anything more. Glaring at him again. She had enough of him, ruining her good mood a while ago.. "Yeah, man." Eric commented, eyeing him from the rearview mirror. "Wha-" "Stop." Dean interrupted what Seamus was going to say. His deep and stern voice caught Skye's attention as well as her friends. Dean sound like his father. And she doesn't like it. He mumbled something after bur Skye didn't caught what it was even just the first word. Seamus just cleared his throat and he adjusted his seat before he completely fell silent. Vanessa glanced at Skye's. She doesn't seem to know what's happening and it's a good thing. She reminds herself to smack Seamus' head and kick his butt later. "Do you like rides?" Piper turned to Skye and asked after a quick silence, changing the topic. "What rides are okay with you?"she added with a smile, hiding her annoyance to the boy at the back. "I'm up for anything." Skye's half-shrugged. Her response ignited Piper's excitement. She loves rides. She remembered the first time he went to a fair together with her friends and she rode the carousel, she was so happy. And since then, she always comes to the fair just for the rides. But as the times goes by, her friends lost interest on those, except her of course. She doesn't care if they don't want to go with her anymore. She can go by herself. But because her friends love her and scared to let her leave alone, they chose to accompany her. Letting her whichever rides she'll took while the others minding their businesses. Usually, the boys always drink alcohols and visits different booths while Vanessa who, up until now, Piper doesn't know what she was doing while they're all busy. "Really?" Piper asked her but didn't wait for Skye's reply when she added. "Omg, finally I have someone to go ride with me." "Why? How about them?" Skye turned to her with a little frown. "Ugh, they don't like it anymore, they get bored on those things now ." The younger lady pouted. Skye can't blame her if she acts like a baby in front of her friends sometimes cause she's still young. And she looks cute doing it. "What? But it's fun." "That's what I'm trying to say to them but they really don't want to." Piper shrugged. "It's okay though, it's enough that they accompany me every Nat Fest." She added with a wide smile. "Why does it call Nat Fest by the way?" Skye immediately asked. She remembered she wanted to ask about it since yesterday but she forgot. "Nativitas." Skye turned to her right when Vanessa answered her question. The latter was looking outside the car's window with a seemingly solemn face. "A latin word for birth. We're celebrating the birth of this town." She turned to looked at Skye and gave her a timid smile and the girl just pursed her lips and nod.
