Skye was in a dazed. But not like a sixth grader who was blankly staring at her crush during their class period, but rather a scared one who was terrified on the beast that she was seeing now. Normally, when a person gets terrified, they tend to run away or scream. Those would probably be the first things that will came up to their mind. But for Skye, she can't even move a muscle. Even though how strong her heart beats, that it feels like it would pop out on her chest, she didn't dared to move even an inch or even blink an eye. Scared that the beast will bit her and devoured her in an instant. Though she wanted to shout but she can't. Skye just stood there at their backyard cautiously staring at the beast while it stared at her too. Probably waiting for her to move so it will took it's chance to jump at her. She just stayed like that for about a few seconds. But when the beast suddenly took a step forward, she did what she wanted to do as soon as she saw it. She ran away. Skye was not a good runner, just based on her experiences, but she ran as fast as she could back to the door. Her hands were trembling hard as she tried to grasp the doorknob. It wasn't even lock but she was struggling as she open it. She immediately shouted her sister's name as soon as she got inside. And it was just the time where she was able to called for help. "Maddie! " she shouted whilst running to the kitchen, to where she last saw her sister and Levi. Maddison got alerted as soon as she heard her younger sister screamed. She suddenly dropped the spoon and fork that she was holding and immediately stood up and ran to her while Levi is following behind. The two ladies nearly got bumped to each other when Skye reached the kitchen door. "Maddie!" Skye exclaimed when she already faced her sister. "Skye! What's going on?" Her worried sister immediately asked her. Grabbing both of her shoulders trying to hold her still while Levi was just standing there beside them. Skye was hyperventilating. Both from running and from fear. Sweats were dripping down from her forehead to her face and neck. "I-it's here. It's here, Maddie!" Skye frantically said as she catches her breath while holding unto her sister's arms. "What is?!" Maddie raised her voice. She don't what happened. But based on her sister's reaction, she knew it was not good. She was so worried for her. "The wolf! The o-one that I saw on the woods! It's h-here again, Maddie. It's outside!" Skye answered while pointing her trembling hands on the back of the house. Levi didn't hesitate and hurriedly ran towards the backdoor when Skye said it. "No, no, no. Levi ! Don't go there, It's gonna kill you!" Skye shouted and tried to follow him but Maddison grab her arm before she could reached the backdoor. "Skye! Don't follow him, Just stay here. " she said. "But we need to stop him, Maddie! It's dangerous out there!" Skye cried out as she tried to slipped out from her grasp but Maddison just hold her firmly. "Just let him. He knows what he's doing." Maddison firmly said looking directly at her. "No Maddie, we ca-" "Come here." Maddison cut off Skye's sentence and dragged her sister urgently but gently towards their living room. She guide her to sit down on the sofa and sat beside her afterwards. "Calm yourself down." She said as she rubbed her sister's back and subtly checking her for some injury and she just sighed when she saw none. "Maddie. We can't just sit-" "Skye, don't worry about him, okay? He can handle himself." Maddison said, cutting off her sister's sentence for the second time. "You should be worry about yourself. Look at you. You look like you'll gonna pass out anytime." She added. She's rather calm now knowing that Levi was there. They will be safe because surely, he knew what to do. And she's certain that there is none on their backyard because she knew that werewolves were forbidden to walk near the residence area in their wolf form. No one from the passed years had broken that rule. Levi told her that. Maddison thought that maybe Skye saw and heard something else and thought that it was the wolf again. But she can't stop herself from worrying about her younger sister because of it. When Skye was still on that state, Maddison stood up. "Where are you going?" Skye instantly grabbed her hand and was about to stand up too but Maddison stop her. "Just sit there. I'll just get some water. I'll be right back." She commanded and hurriedly walked out on the living room. She went to the kitchen and took a glass on one of the kitchen drawers and poured some water on it from the pitcher that was on top of the table. She then walk back to the living room with a glass of water in her hand. "Drink this." She offered the water to her younger sister while holding it out for her. The latter drank almost half of the content and Maddison put it down on the center table when she's finished. "We should call the police, Maddie. " Skye said as she faced her sister. "No, Skye. It's not necessary." Maddison replied while holding on to her sister's hand and caressing her back, trying to calm her down. "What are you talking ab-Levi!" Skye immediately stood up when her sister's fiance entered the living room. Maddison turn around from her seat and stood up when she saw her lover just entered the living room. "Honey, are you okay?" she asked him. It seems that he's not harmed and his calm and relax but Maddison can tell that there's something that bothering him. "Did you see it?" Skye asked him before he could answer Maddison. Levi glanced at Maddison and took a deep breath before he answered. "No." he shortly replied, subtly clenching his jaw afterwards. "I didn't see anything." "That's impossible." Skye said, quite flabbergasted. "That thing is huge. You can see it move even in the dark." The man in the house unconsciously lick his lips and said. "I didn't see anything. There is nothing outside, Skye. I'm sorry." "No, no. I swear it was there." Skye said furiously shaking her head as she took a step back. She was certain it was just there a while ago. "Maybe it run away." she added and look back and forth at the unbelievably quiet lovers. The two said nothing and so she speak again. "We should call the police. We should report it to them." Skye walk towards the small table beside the sofa, just behind Maddison, and grab the telephone on the top of it. "What's the number?" she asked, ready to dial it. "No one's calling the police." Maddison said and walk towards her, grabbing the telephone on her hand and put it back on the table. "What? Why?" Skye incredulously asked her sister as she faced her. "Maddie, we need to call them. You said they're on it. They need to know that it came here." "Skye." Maddison said. She sighed before she hold both of her sister's shoulder. "You need to calm down, okay?" "How can you just calm down on this situation?!" Skye raised her voice at her but she knew it wasn't intentional. Her sister was just overwhelmed on the situation. "There was a dangerous animal that just came a while ago on your own back yard and it tried to attack me, Maddie. How can you just calm down?!" "There wasn't, Skye." Maddison replied back as calmly as she could and took a deep breath. "Maybe you're just tired and you just need to rest. " she added. "I'm not tired, Maddie!" her younger sister said as she walk away from the table and combed her hair back using her hand. "Wait." She turned around to faced the two before she speak again. "Are you trying to say that I'm just hallucinating?" she asked, looking directly at her sister in disbelief. "No, I'm not. It's not it." Maddison gently shook her head as she speak. "I'm just saying that, maybe you're still in shock and-" "It's the same thing, Maddie! Oh my God!" Skye turned away from them with a frustrated sighed. She closed her eyes hard and tried to calm herself down before she faced them again. "Look, if you won't believe me then fine." she firmly said. "But we need to leave here this instant, Maddie." she added and walk away from them. "Skye, it's late. I can't just drive back to the city." Maddison said as her younger sister just passed by them and was heading to the stairs. "I can drive for us." Skye replied back. "No, you can't, in that state." "You can't stop me now, Maddie." "Skye." She called out but it seem fell on deaf ears. "Skye!" Maddison grabbed her sister's hand before she could take a step on the stairs. And forced Skye to faced her. "If that thing do really exist and it just came here, then it probably went back to the woods now. If we drive on the road at this hour, then it will not be safe for us if it's still lurking around. Don't you think of it?" Maddison said. Skye didn't say anything and just stared at her. So she just took a deep breath before she speaks again. "If you really want to leave, let's wait for tomorrow, okay?" Skye's breathing came back to normal now. But her hands still trembling, maybe from the rising anger. She bit her lip hard, trying to rethink of her decision. She knew Maddison was right. "s**t!" Skye hit the stairs railing with her fist and Maddison flinched because of it. Her younger sister didn't say anything and just walk upstairs. Stomping her feet hard on the way and slammed her door when she got to her room. Maddison closed her eyes for a moment and sighed before she turned around and faced Levi who had followed her behind. "Did you see something?" she gently asked. "No. There was nothing out there." he replied. Levi took a glanced upstairs and speak again in a lower voice. "But I saw paw tracks outside the fence." Maddison ears perked from the information and her forehead creased. She grab her lover's hand and dragged him back to the living room. Making sure that Skye won't hear their conversation "So one of your kind really came here?" she asked in disbelief. She can't believe that her sister actually saw one for a second time again. She felt guilty for not believing her. "It seems like it." he shortly replied. "I thought you're forbidden to came near in this area in that form?" Maddison was obviously frustrated of the fact that her sister just encountered another one and it just tried to attack her. Levi took a while to answer her question but he answered her anyway. "It is." "Then why it went here?" Maddison immediately asked. "I don't know why. But I know that it didn't intend to attack her." Levi replied. "How can you be sure?" "Because Skye can't have the time to run away if it is. " She's quite calm now when Levi said it but she can't stop worrying. "I don't know why it got here, but I'm sure of it." her fiance added. Maddison just sighed as she placed her palm on her forehead when she remembered something. "Skye said it's the same one she saw in the woods. So that means that it's her again? Your friend?" she asked curiously. Levi clenched his jaw before he speak again. "I'm not sure, honey. It was already gone away when I came out. I didn't catched it scent or heard it." Maddison don't know what to say. She just sat down on the sofa with a sighed as she face palmed. "Hey, don't worry." Levi sat down beside her and caressed her back. "I will call Johnny. I promise he will be here tomorrow morning before Skye wake up." "He better be." Maddison muttered between her hands before she faced her lover with a solemn face. "Cause I don't know what to say to her anymore to prevent her from leaving." "Come here." Levi said and they embraced each other afterwards.
