Skye eventually grab her phone on the nightstand after some four missed calls. Her phone was in silent mode and she was busy changing clothes after she got out in the shower so she didn't know someone was calling her in the first place. She just caught a glimpse of her phone light up on the fifth call so she grab it. It was from an unknown number but Skye didn't think twice and just accepted the call.
"Hello?" She said as she dry her hair up using her towel.
"Hi there bestie." A jolly voice of a woman responded on the other line. Skye immediately stop what she's doing and sat on her bed. She knew that voice very well even though she had heard it a few times. But then, she still asked to her make sure.
"Abbigail?"
"Uhuh, it's me. And please just call me Abby." Abby chuckled and a smile quickly form on Skye's lips.
"So how are you?" The red head asked before she can say a word. There were some noises that Skye can hear on the background but she ignored it as she was so glad that Abbigail call her. She can finally invite Violet for a dinner.
The dinner was her sister's idea and not hers. When they had finished watching the movie last night, Maddison came to her room when she was about to sleep and tell her to invite Violet for a dinner tonight. At first, she thought her sister was joking but sad to say that she wasn't.
She told Maddison for so many times on how impossible it was to invite the woman since she doesn't have some contact with her. Let alone to convince her to agree for the dinner at their house. She might be busy or she just doesn't want to.
The only person who can talk to her and knew her place is Levi. But Maddison said that Levi only talk to her or call her if it was so important and if his family or his neighborhood were involved in the matter. Skye doesn't know what that meant. If they weren't that so close that he can't invite her or call her just once for a dinner, but why is that he can talk to her if it comes to their neighbors? She doesn't know what kind of friendship they had. But the only clear thing is, she should invite Violet since her sister doesn't take No for an answer. Maddison said she needs to find a way. To make up to her lies. She doesn't know what to do. Her sister was forcing her. She was just lucky the fate is on her side.
"I'm so happy you called." Skye replied with a genuine and wide smile on her face.
"It is?" Abby chuckled. "So how are you now? I have heard what happened." she added.
Skye thought for a while for what she meant but she suddenly thought that she probably referring about yesterday. Maybe Violet told her.
"Oh. I-im okay." was her short reply. She doesn't know if Violet tell the whole story to her Bestfriend so she must be careful to her answer.
"Was she mean to you yesterday? If she was, then I'm sorry, believe me my Bestfriend is nice but she can't just stop herself to be mean, that's her nature."
They both chuckle to what Abby said. Skye pulled her feet up to the bed and pushed herself back to the headboard and crossed her legs.
"Yeah I kinda knew that actually." she stop for a moment to sighed before she speak. "I'm guessing she told you all about what happened?" She carefully asked.
"Of course she did. Why? Did something happened that I didn't know?" She asked but there's something on her tone, it's sound a bit playful.
"No. Nothing." Skye was quick to reply. "Aside from dragging my drunk and i***t self on her house, she.. just change my clothes and cooked me some breakfast. That's all." She casually said and shrugged her shoulder even thought Abby can't see her.
"Oooh. Wow, that was knew. You two have gotten so close already huh? She get to made you some breakfast now."
Skye's forehead scrunched to what she said. "What?" she asked and chuckled lightly. " I don't think so. Anyone can prepare breakfast to their guest. I know she was just being nice. Even though she looks damn bored and scary the entire day."
"It is. But Violet never cooked breakfast for her guest, just so you know. She always let the helper do it. She doesn't even cooked for me." Abby replied and Skye heard her smirked.
That sudden information made Skye blush instantly. She didn't know what to say. But she suddenly remembered something. She wanted to asked Violet about it yesterday but she kinda shy to aske her.
"Ahmm. By the way. Did she accepted the muffins I gave her the other day? Did she liked it?" She asked shyly and Abby find it adorable. She also laughed when she remembered the night where she found Violet on her office with an empty box of muffins in front of her.
"Yeah she did. She loved it actually since she ate all of it and didn't left one for me." They both chuckled again and Skye blush harder.
"Don't worry, I'll make some for you too next time." she said dearly. She then heard some muffled voices outside her room. Maddison probably finished making their breakfast. She should asked Abby now when she still had a chance cause surely her sister would ask her again about Violet.
"Hey Abby. Can I ask you a favor?" she quickly asked after taking a deep breath.
"Oh yeah. What is it?"
"Can you give me her number? I wanted to talk to her." She said as she scratches her left eyebrow. Waiting patiently for the red head's reply.
"Why? Is there something you wanted to ask her or say to her? Cause I can just tell her myself. Because calling her isn't a great idea dear. She will .. probably turn off your call as soon as she knew it was you ." Abby said carefully and nicely, hoping that Skye wouldn't feel bad. But the latter felt that already. She felt a bit sad. But it's nothing new. Violet is so aloof. She's already so cold in personal, so she shouldn't be surprised if it was on the phone. So maybe she just tell it to Abby then.
"Ahm. I just wanted to invite her for dinner."
Abby's ear perked up and it fully took her attention. " A dinner? Really.?" She asked with a bright smile. She was glad that this young woman had some more confidence than her Bestfriend.
"Yes. It was my sister's idea actually. She wanted me to invite Violet for a dinner in our house. She was so thankful for saving me yesterday."
Abby smiled brightly at the idea. "Is that so? Then I will tell her that."
"Really?"
"Of course you silly." Abby laughed at her.
"But can you tell her I'm sorry first before you said it to her?" She nervously asked, nibbling her lip.
Abby's eyebrow perked up. " Why?" she asked.
"She actually doesn't want me to tell anyone she was the one who saved me. I tried really hard to lie , I swear. But my sister is something else. She knew me more than myself." Skye huffed. She doesn't know what will Violet do of she knew it. But she knew she will probably be mad.
"Nah. That's not a problem. I will just tell her later."
It's okay if she will not accept my invite since I didn't followed what she said." she said and sighed afterwards.
"Don't say that. She will go."
"Are you sure?"
Abby just smirked at her. There's an idea forming on her head. "Oh believe me. She will."
