"I think that's the better way than......"
Those were the last words Violet have heard from Julie before she completely lost her focus on her. It's like she's unable to hear anything she said after that cause all her attention went to the two people slow dancing in the middle of the room.
Her face may look calm and collected but her looks were saying otherwise. She was shooting daggers towards the man who was intimately close to her mate. She wanted so badly to grab his hand on her waist and break it to pieces. How can he do that to her? He is literally a stranger to Skye.
Violet sighed. It's been an hour since she tried to ignore her presence because she didn't want to give in to her desire, cause if that happens, it's not unlikely that she will bring the girl home to her house and do anything that she had been wanting to do. But now, it's like her hard work was useless because of that man. Her possessiveness can't handle the scene in front of her. It's like her inner wolf urging her to take her away from him. But that would cause a scene and a big question from her mate so she's trying so hard to hold herself back. And because of it, she subconsciously grip the spoon so hard it bends.
"Are you okay, Violet?"
The gorgeous brunette turned her attention back to Julie when the woman touched her arm.
"Huh?" Violet replied, cluelessly looking at her.
"I'm asking if you're okay?" Julie gently asked her as she nods her head towards her hand where the poor spoon bended. And Violet loosened her grip when she glanced at her hand.
"Oh." She softly uttered as she dropped the spoon on her half empty plate. "Yeah, I'm okay." She added, pursing her lips.
Julie was about to asked again but her husband called her. It gave Violet a chance to glanced back to Skye. She saw Levi approaching the two. He just finished dancing with Maddison who was now seated back to their assigned table. She heard him talking to the man, asking him if he could have a dance with Skye. Violet saw Skye almost smirked at him. Levi hold her gently and dances with her when the man finally moved away and walked out of the dance floor.
Violet had a frown on her face as she witnessed it all when suddenly, her eyes met with Levi. The latter subtly nod at her direction. She looked at him questioningly, unable to understand what he was trying to convey. But when she glanced towards Maddison's, the woman was already looking at her and gave Violet a nod and a tight smile.
That's when she breathed a sighed of relief. Maybe the couple saw how she looked at Skye and her companion a while ago. It was smart for Levi to do that gesture. He knew very well how possessive their kind was when it becomes to their mate. He just made Violet a favor.

Skye was quietly walking down the hallway. She could hear the mayor's speech from here. She actually left the hall as soon as he went up the stage and took the microphone, not wanting to bored herself to listen to him so she walked out. She told Maddison that she was going to the comfort room but she's actually going out to the garden which was at the back of this whole place.
She saw a guest came out from the comfort room at the far end of the hallway. It's a woman, wearing an elegant long sleeved cream colored lace dress that ends on her knees. She look like she's in her late fifties.
The woman walk slowly with her hand on her head and she looks a little pale. Skye was cautiously looking at her as she was approaching her way. She doesn't seem to be feeling well.
The woman suddenly stopped and almost lost her balance, she looked like she would passed out. Skye immediately run towards her and hold her both of her arms gently trying to help her.
"Are you okay ma'am?" She asked, concerned about her.
"Mom!"
A boy that looks around fifteen years old wearing an all black suit run towards them before the woman could answer her question. The worries on his face was evident as he hold his mother too.
The woman slowly removed her hand from her face. "Oh no." She uttered.
Skye looked at her hand. There was a blood on it. The boy suddenly hold his mother's face, when he saw her nose was bleeding, he frantically asked for help.
Focusing her attention to the blood, Skye took a step back. Suddenly, there's nothing she could longer hears around her when a memory flashes back to her mind.
Eleven years ago...
The ten years old Skye was busy doing her homework as she sat at their kitchen's table. Her father was on his work and her sister Maddison was on a field trip. Her only company for today was her mom who was busy baking a cake for them.
"Do you have plans for today mom?" Skye suddenly asked her mother, still writing in her notebook.
"Nothing dear, why did you ask?" Evelyn replied while mixing some ingredients on a batter bowl.
"Can we go grocery shopping now?" She quickly replied.
"Grocery day is tomorrow." Her mother replied. There was a smile etched on Evelyn's face, she knew pretty well where this conversation was heading at.
She heard her daughter sighed before she stop her writing for moment. "I know... But I ran out of ice creams already." She said.
"We will buy tomorrow."
"But I can't wait for tomorrow mom, I wanted to eat now." Skye whined at her mom. When Evelyn looked back at her, she chuckled seeing her daughter's pouted lips. "Pleae mom." The cute girl pleaded with puppy eyes.
"Okay, okay." Evelyn replied shaking her head before she resumed what she was doing.
"Yes!" Skye exclaimed. "Thanks mom." She added with a big smile on her face before continuing writing her homework.
"I wish they were still strawberry with chocolate bits flavor left. I just tried it and it was so delicious. No wonder it was always sold out." Skye said, remembering how delicious the said favor was.
She was expecting a response to her mom but when she didn't have some, she turned to looked at her. She saw her mom holding her head while her other hand was gripping hard on the kitchen's top.
"Are you okay mom?" She asked, but her mom didn't reply and she suddenly fall to her knees.
"Mom!" The young Skye immediately run towards her mom and crouched down. "What happened?" She asked, so worried.
Her mom still didn't said anything, she just pulled her hand back and that moment Skye saw blood coming out her mother's nose.
Present....
Skye's hand landed on her chest as she tried to catch her breath. She can see few people moved in front of her but she's unable to understand what was happening. It's like her mind floated elsewhere. All she can hear was the rapid beating of her heart. She started to sweat hard.
She tried to shut her eyes hard and calm herself. But all she can hear was her younger self shouting for help and crying over her unconscious mother in their kitchen floor with blood on her hand.
When Skye felt the wall on her back, she move aside and walked out on the scene. She walk fast it's like she's running. She didn't know where she was heading at, she just walk towards a door. And fortunately, it was the door to the garden outside.
She stop when she's at the wide space of the garden. She tried shaking her hands and fanning herself. She even tried to catch her breath but it's all no use, she's like ehe would passed out anytime. She didn't know what's happening, she was about to cry.
When she thought she can't handle it, she bent over and eventually fall down on her knees. She shut her eyes hard as she grip her chest. A tear fell on her eye.
She didn't know how long she's been like that when suddenly a pair of hands hold both of her face. Her tearful eyes open and two beautiful bluish grey eyes greeted her. She knew those eyes pretty well. The owner of those were saying something at her but she can't hear anything, all she can heard was the endless deafening ringing sound on her ears.
Skye was still on that state when her body was engulfed by a comforting warmth from the embrace of the person in front of her.
